I was just thinking... do you think Rockstar is watching these forums for feedback on the leaks right now?

 

Why do you think the mods are so strict about the leaks right now? I am sure they got contacted to take any leaks down asap. Take Two is pretty scary when it comes to legal stuff.

I thought you guys wanted Rockstar to push it to the limit, especially in the graphic quality. Now they've done it, but they've got to sacrifice other things.

 

Think as if PS3 was 1 litre bucket, then GTAV was 0.80 litre water. If PS4 was 2 litre bucket, then GTAV was 1.80 litre water. If you fill more water, lift the bucket with that hit-the-limit amount of water inside and walk, of course the water will splash away and eventually lose some, right? Do you want your GTA Online to lag and crash more just because of animal Npc? Hell, it crash and freeze enough even without animals.

 

And anyway, why do you need animal NPC when you already see real animals ruining your play time in GTAO.

 

Why do you think animal-NPCs are more resource-intensive than any other NPCs? I can't think of a reason.

 

 

My guess would be model memory and loading other animation sets, but I actually think because it's next gen it should not be that big a deal. In most forest areas your console isn't loading pedestrians anyway so loading a deer or two should be that problematic. I think it's a real bummer and that the animals will roam Online one day.

Yes it's related to memory and this is Online mode, not single player. The memory is not reserved for you only.

 

The game and server has to load/receive every single happening in the world whether there be tanker blowing cars in the downtown, some other jerking off in the corner of Grove St., buzzard dogfighting police, someone else skydiving, some others flattening peds, the other mutts are blowing NPC car, while other chumps are offroading with chrome Zentorno and Adders.

 

Now Rockstar have upgraded the graphic and player count to use the full power of PS4.

 

Having animal online is not impossible. Like I said, there must be something to be sacrificed.

 

Pretty sure you can have animals to burn or ram with your tank if PS4 GTAO has PS2 San Andreas graphical quality. But then again, it's graphic to sacrifice. Now choose what do you want to sacrifice? Player count, graphic, or some useless npc activity and their model count?

What I was asking is if there's a big difference between rendering two different pedestrians or an animal. Let me explain: as you said, the server has to receive and load everything that happens in the map. So, if you are in the middle of the Walk of Fame, with 30+ different pedestrians and a bunch of also different cars, it's ok, the server won't struggle, but if you are in the wild, surrounded by trees, two deers would suppose too much of a problem for the server to handle?

Didn't they say that the update is coming on monday?

The 1 GB update is just bug fixes. No sign of heists yet.

They said that heists are coming after the new-gen launch and the title update is tomorrow. I'm still hoping that they'll add something else in, but I'm not keeping my hopes too high.

In sp when you get killed by a shark, it occasionally teleports you for the animation that occurs. This could look pretty awkward from another player's perspective online. Obviously they could do something about it, but it's possible that they just didn't bother. Then again it's a much requested feature so you'd think R* would put them in to draw more people for new-gen.

 

Edit: And if we're lucky they will actually be added in the title update tomorrow.

What could we expect from the update being released, is it just 1.4 GB fixes?

Does someone know if they've changed the sound for the Sanchez in new gen?

People are claiming the update is due to be released tomorrow, is this confirmed?

GTA Online is peer-to-peer .

R* isn't using dedicated servers but it would be better if they are using dedicated servers .

in fact, it is the opposite - client/server allows clients to operate asynchronously with other players - it is the deterministic lockstep P2P model which has to wait for the most lagged player before advancing the simulation.

 

Client/server = dedicated servers

If you got into someone car and while he is turning you lagged then his car will crash in your stream but in his stream it won't .

Your game will re-download his stream which will teleport his car in your stream to his current position .

Okay. Let's just go back to what's been there.

 

Why the amount of NPC and cars are lower in Online?

 

Why in such a crowded Free Mode, police and other NPC will pop-in and out?

 

 

Yes. The answers will back up the reason why there are no animals in Online.

It's possible for it to be released tomorrow, but most likely by Tuesday.

I wonder why haven't seen the RAILGUN online or in story mode I've had 3 different people who transfered over go to ammunition in story and the RAILGUN isn't there same thing with 2 others online....

Idk man but I do know we got tanks,jets missiles and cannot,rpgs,bombs,etc

 

There is no reason why we cannot have a RAILGUN online saying its reload time is suppose to be slow af

Okay. Let's just go back to what's been there.

I'm aware a multiplayer game requires more resources than a single-player game. I just can't see why an animal NPC is different than a regular human NPC. It's just that, I'm not saying I don't believe you or something, everyone that has played this game knows online has a lot less cars and peasants than SP, I'd just like to know why they increased the number of NPCs and vehicles in traffic (even online) but didn't include a single animal.

Cool info. The synchronizing issues are definitely a plague in GTA.
