Integrating the story from GTA:SA into the current engine with retextured characters should be relatively easy. I would definitely buy GTA:SA HD as a standalone DLC.

I hope you are being sarcastic because I doubt that would be easy at all.

Yeah, I mean all they have to do is create two whole cities, completely change GTA V's plot and characters, add a few hundred vehicles, and make the file small enough to be a DLC. Pretty easy.

You sure? I mean how would we do missions in SF and LV?

When do you think R* will stop supporting GTAO with the Updates? Mid 2015? Early 2016?

I think they will bring one massive update with most things we been asking for when that day comes. I would say probably mid 2015
You do realize that gta IV got an update as recently as a month or so ago right? I do think the frequency will decrease heavily in 2015 though.

IVs update was like over 6 months ago and it was only released to switch the servers we connect to.

wouldn't try to compare V's update frequency with IV's, which only got about 5 updates in its entire lifetime of 7.5 years.

In 2015 I expect free updates to slow down (probably only holiday specials) and premium DLC will be introduced.

IV came out in 2008, We must be seeing different game since the one I see came out 6 years ago.

Halloween would be one holiday you should expect Rockstar to have a DLC. I would expect it to be next Tuesday or Thursday.

Masks, face paints, costumes, machete, Maybe the Hearse. Zombie survivals. It just has so much potential, I cant see why they would skip it.

Halloween isn't so special of a holiday tbh. It's one of the biggest holidays...lolOnly in the U.S., no one else really bothers. The game is set in the U.S. though, and it would have great possibilities as a DLC so I'm in favour! Edited by manicmechanic71

The biggest problem to updates is going to be heists.

I have never bought a cash card and right now have no need to. I assume the bulk of you out there don't either but some do. (Fortunately most of them are the youtubers)

Updates are there to get us to buy cash cards. Why else would R* maintain a staff year round to produce content. That costs money. It took R* 4 years to put out GTAIV and we all gladly put down our money and bought it. It took R* 5 years to bring out GTAV and we still think we're justified to an endless stream of free updates? (I swear if anyone mentions "cut content"...)

With heists all players are going to be self sufficient, as in no shark cards. R* won't be able to support there staff with the current update system.

Two solutions. The un-realistic one. Raise the in-game prices so players have to buy the shark cards again. It's un-realistic because we already have some exotic cars. I can't foresee any that are going to be more expensive and can imagine the blowback from players if they have to pay twice the price for something similar to a Zentorno.

The realistic one. Wait longer in between updates to group together large amounts of content and charge for it.

Grimm either way.

This is so wrong it hurts. R* makes more than enough money to pay their staff without cash card sales. Updates are to add new things to the game to keep it alive and fresh and keep people coming back, it's not solely for money.

With Heists not all players are going to become self sufficient, not by a long shot. Heists are not going to be some quick little 10 minute missions that pay hundreds of thousands or millions, they're going to take at least half an hour or more and will be very hard to complete and even harder to complete with randoms.

Cash cards are aimed at the casual player, the player who only puts in a few hours a week and isn't a hardcore player. Cash cards are for the casual players who don't want to play for weeks just to purchase a super car or buy a plane and such.

I speculate Updates will continue to be montlhy and free for a long time because R* wants to keep GTAO going for years to come and it would make sense for them to keep them free.

This. R* doesn't say "yeah the game is finished, your services are no longer needed, you're all fired" everytime a game is finished. And whatever they make off cash cards DEFINITELY won't suffice for all their employee's salary. Cash cards are just an extra for them, to save the casual player the effort of grinding and making money off it while they're at it. And they probably aren't even working on the updates (aside from small things perhaps), but rather on GTA6 and/or V next gen.

The updates are obviously cut content, released gradually over time to keep players interested and thus sustain the fanbase to boost GTA6 sales (no, not even because of cash cards, the profit would be too small for it to be just for that). IMO, genius business decision. Without the updates I would've stopped playing quite some time ago. It's free and it prolongs my interest in the game and also the time I put into it. I get more enjoyment for my money (without paying extra) and R* gets a little extra profit from cash cards once in awhile and a larger fanbase for their upcoming game. They actually thought of a way to make more money without screwing over the gamers. Only R*.

I'm pretty sure R* said there will be no SP DLC this year. And if anything it would be DLC related to the games story, like a Trevor DLC or a DLC that's lets us play Michael and Trevor before the botched job in Ludendorff.

I speculate that if Thursdays become the new Tuesdays then Fridays will become the new Saturdays and that Monday will fall into a bleak chasm within the earth's core from which there is no escape.

I also speculate that this would throw the milkman's delivery schedule right out of whack and I'll have to eat my morning Frosties with skimmed milk (eurgh).

"A decade in San Andreas update" would have fit quite nicely this week. Vehicles from the old San Andreas in gta5, maybe some t-shirts with old San Andreas art work on them and some of those radio station t shirts that were leaked ages ago.

Well I just looked in the market place source code, nothing there. Chances of seeing a Halloween update are dying down. We would of seen something by now if there was going to be one

But is it possible R* could have plugged the leaks for now? I would be astonished if there was no Halloween DLC. The game is crying out for it.

Damn straight son! :beerhat:

Although I can see why some people say it´s weird with such a update because GTAV and GTASA is two different games. But you never know.

I dont know, but they have known about the market place source code for months now and they always put stuff up at least a week early, but then they haven't exactly brought a big update in a very long time. Maybe they want to surprise us but I will check again tomorrow. I will check everyday until Halloween but I dont think we will get anything, R* are too busy working on their precious next gen

Which is fine by us...

Proud PS4 owners.

Yeah well im getting it on Xbox one, but it annoys me that the reason we haven't got heists or any decent updates since spring is because they are working on next gen. We need something in the mean time, especially when they are not even advertising it
