Is it likely at all that we will get a Halloween update? I don't keep up with those youtube videos, so I haven't heard any rumors in regards to Halloween updates. Here in New Jersey, this would of been the perfect day for a Halloween update to drop, we got torrential rains and my backyard looks like a forest on fire because the leaves are so colorful. Anyway, I'm kind of preparing myself for a major let down. I had expected something to drop for Easter or at least spring break and Tuesdays just kept passing by...

 

Right now chances are very low. Plus funmw2s guy said that the next update would be the military update, with nothing seen on the market place and no indication that a Halloween update is on the way I think that might be the case. But this military update should be worth the wait anyway

 

I just want my Hunter man. People keep saying Hydra this and that, but a Hunter just seems way more menacing and practical.

 

as a harrier fetish man i can say i've wanted the hunter aswell, but nothing comes close to the original fighter jet in the gta series

I think they will bring one massive update with most things we been asking for when that day comes. I would say probably mid 2015

You do realize that gta IV got an update as recently as a month or so ago right? I do think the frequency will decrease heavily in 2015 though.

The original Hydra will always have a special place in my gaming heart, but for me personally a Hunter just seems much more practical because I love to use my Rhino and Buzzard for missions where I can loiter around and provide support. The Hydra can loiter too, but I feel it maybe a bit more annoying to deal with stabilizing the craft while taking fire and returning it at the same time.

 

That, and the friends I game with are hardcore into MGS as well and the crew we are in is based off of Big Boss's Outer Heaven, so a heavy attack chopper fits the bill better than the light attack chopper we have. The Buzzard's cockpit is just too exposed for incoming fire, especially considering the AI's accuracy on hard with pistols, let alone rifles.

Not per se, if the content on both gen consoles is the same. Textures and all is another story but they can do it.

IVs update was like over 6 months ago and it was only released to switch the servers we connect to.

wouldn't try to compare V's update frequency with IV's, which only got about 5 updates in its entire lifetime of 7.5 years.

 

In 2015 I expect free updates to slow down (probably only holiday specials) and premium DLC will be introduced.

I don't think the hunter is coming out. All we have is a scene in the trailer for "The Simian" I have never seen any coding for it whereas we've seen coding added, removed and then added again for the hydra. Recently too.

 

The hunter would be too overpowered anyways. An auto-aim mini-gun? Lobbies would be toast.

 

The Hydra would be bad enough. The balancing attribute the Lazer has is it isn't that convenient to get. Drive out to the base, pay $5k for blind eye, hope it doesn't die-spawn under your feet.

 

Now imagine when $200 gets you a two-seater jet fighter at the nearest airport OR EVEN HELIPORT.

The biggest problem to updates is going to be heists.

 

I have never bought a cash card and right now have no need to. I assume the bulk of you out there don't either but some do. (Fortunately most of them are the youtubers)

 

Updates are there to get us to buy cash cards. Why else would R* maintain a staff year round to produce content. That costs money. It took R* 4 years to put out GTAIV and we all gladly put down our money and bought it. It took R* 5 years to bring out GTAV and we still think we're justified to an endless stream of free updates? (I swear if anyone mentions "cut content"...)

 

With heists all players are going to be self sufficient, as in no shark cards. R* won't be able to support there staff with the current update system.

 

Two solutions. The un-realistic one. Raise the in-game prices so players have to buy the shark cards again. It's un-realistic because we already have some exotic cars. I can't foresee any that are going to be more expensive and can imagine the blowback from players if they have to pay twice the price for something similar to a Zentorno.

 

The realistic one. Wait longer in between updates to group together large amounts of content and charge for it.

April 08: fixed bug causing freezes for 60gb ps3.

Oct08: added ps3 trophy support

Mid09: patched potential common.rpf exploits (never occurred on ps3)

Feb10: added support for future bogt and tlad dlc. Fixed cardoor glitch. Fixed bug where guns would appear invisible in helicopter.

Jul2014: switched ps3 servers from gamespy to Playstation.

 

I only know the ps3 updates, xbox did recieve some of those earlier than us. They also obviously didn't need the trophy update or 60gb freeze patch. All in all nothing big has happened. They went years without an update.

 

BTW Halloween is huge.

Yeah. Those are the main reasons for me also, and there hasn't been anything on the marketplace. Shame really, will be a really big missed opportunity if they dont do it. But at least the Hydra will come a week or two after (Hopefully)

It's more like Valentines day or EasterIf you played it in 08 why did you bother questioning how much IV has changed. You should know nothing is different from release other than few bug, glitch, and exploit patches.

 

Also they had a special for Valentines day, so just argued against your own point. And that was my typo in my original post.i meant 6.5. I'm posting from a phone.

tbh R* already confirmed that they would be doing most if not all holidays. Surely if they did valentines day and independence day then they will do Halloween. But I guess its good not to expect anything so you dont get disappointed. I dont expect it I just want it
