Just want to throw this out there. What are the possibilities that there will be some sort of Halloween DLC and the military stuff comes out with heists? The military gear that is found in code don't have to be in a military DLC does it? Or is there information confirming a military DLC?

There was the "mparmy" code, which most likely does imply the existence of a military update, therefore it seems doubtful it will come together with heists. And a Halloween update wouldn't be unlikely, however, we have already had an update this month, I doubt Rockstar would be generous enough to give us two.

On twitter he said they are playing GTA Online on PS4 right now, that is what this means. They are obviously getting some new trailer footage for an online trailer

You must download encrypted tuneables and some other files to access GTA online .

If your game can't download them then you can't access it .

Right...which is precisely why they've been adding heist-related code to the source code for the PS3/360 versions every update. Just so they won't use it. Seems legit.

It was an advertised feature so it has to be in the game at some point. Its a bit like if Apple said the next iPad would support split screen multitasking, then after launch stated it couldn't be done "for hardware reasons".

I have absolutely no idea if they are legally obliged to release Online Heists - there might be a case as they promised a release in Spring, and if they mentioned it in the pre-release as a feature then that would be false advertising. I'm not sure what the legal precedent would be. They could just release a 'lite' version, make them slightly longer missions, and claim that's what Heists were always supposed to be.

 

However by not releasing proper, full-blown Online Heists then their reputation as a company would take a massive blow. If they do release 'lite' Heists then that would show them up as they've been delaying Heists due to their complexity; if they're just longer missions then faith in Rockstar as a company would plummet. Same if they don't release Heists at all. It might not affect them greatly - GTA6 would still be a No.1 best seller, I suppose - but you would get a lot of people avoiding pre-orders for fear that the product delivered is not the product promised. I can imagine that would affect sales - it would make it seem that demand was not as high this time around, fewer units would be shifted to stores and so not as many copies would be sold. I don't know.

 

Sorry if this is a bit vague - my train of thought was broken at least three or four times while I provided technical support to my computer illiterate family.

I am not sure if we will get much of anything, if at all, for Halloween. I think a real zombie mode DLC can safely be ruled out considering RDR and undead nightmare. It was its own entity. Don't get wrong, I would love that, but I don't think it would come as a simple downloaded update but rather a large file DLC/disc that has to be paid for like undead nightmare. However, that being said, they could very well do a zombie/Halloween "themed" DLC with simple clothes, costumes, and masks. They might even throw in the zombie chopper and a couple other vehicles.

Rockstar is still advertising Heists as an update for GTA:O along with previously released updates for the current version of the game (PS3/XB360).

Not saying it will happen but, the Hipster and Independence updates were release within 2 weeks of each other. Issue is I don't see R* doing 3 updates 2 weeks after each other if they are to achieve the Halloween Update.

 

Also speaking of such a thing, to back up the possibility that the Halloween update may happen is that R* stated that the firework launcher will return in appropriate seasons, and Halloween fits the bill perfectly.

No its nothing like that... Its more like an app on the iPad saying it will do something but says its not available on the software as expected... Your example is like saying Microsoft said they'll release something on Xbox but say they can't bla bla bla

I'm not going to state the Hydra is 100% confirmed for the next update, but at this point, it does feel like the most likely thing we'll get, especially with the "mparmy" strongly indicating the existence of a military update. With all the Hydra-related coding that's been added, I think we're more likely to have it sooner than heists

Yep, it's a shared holiday due to the circumstances of WWI. In Poland it's the Independence Day for example.
