Top of the GTA:O food chain - Jets or Tanks?

i have to say the jet on this one, this majestic killing beast swoops down to the ground at blazing speed and in one clean sweep anything in its path is destroyed, although tanks do offer very strong ground attacks and can prove a point just as fast as a jet can, thoughts welcome

I like to drive the tank for fun, but as far as bounties/revenge goes a jet is much better.

Unless you're an incredibly impressive pilot or have the drop on them in the open they stand a damned good chance.

Nothing beats the fastest, most agile vehicle in the game that has the capabilities of both firing standard rockets as well as cannons that are basically grenade launching minuguns.

You can hide from a jet, but you can't run. If there's no hiding place nearby, you're toast, no matter what.
With the tank, all you can't do is stand still

Yesterday, I killed a tank with one shot from the rockets in the passenger seat.

We can all pretty much say tanks are no longer king. They've even got the tank symbol on the radar.

 

I think helicopters and especially jets should have their own symbols too.

Most jet pilots I meet miserably fail. I had a bounty, and I saw a jet homing in on me. (I was in my Emperor, worst time to be in it as well.) He fires off a couple hundred rounds at me, missing everyone, then crashes into the street. Tanks, on the other hand... lets just say they DON'T.

As I constantly fly a jet and completely decimate everything, I have to say the jet is the best killing machine in the entire game. Nothing can take down a jet 1v1 unless the jet pilot is a complete dumb ass. Tanks? Nope, they blow up in a second. Buzzards? Good luck aiming up and down to hit the jet, as only a dumbass would fly straight at a Buzzard and the missiles always miss. Heavy Sniper? Nah, that thing cant shoot straight up, it wont hit a good jet pilot. The same goes for the RPG and Minigun, both cant aim upwards high enough to shoot down a jet. Jets will always destroy online lobbies unless the splash damage of the cannons is reduced dramatically.

Invite Only > Passive (competent player) > Jets (competent Pilots) > Tanks (competent drivers) > Tanks (incompetent drivers) > Passive (incompetent player) > Jets (incompetent Pilots)

 

Reasoning:

Bad pilots = "Why is the ground now the sky?"

Incompetent Passives = "Wait, things can still run me over?"

Bad Tankers = "Can only move or shoot at once!"

Good players know how to use cover, movement and evasion techniques to stay out of firing solutions/crush situations while taunting and otherwise making their enemies feel bad.

Invite Only eliminates the opposition. When against NPCs in Invite Only, taking out tanks/jets is pretty easy.

You don't need a symbol to spot a jet, their dot moves fast across the map so it is obvious it is a jet.

But you don't see that movement unless you are looking at the entire map or the jet is just about on you.

tank got nerfed so much to the point that you might aswell run around with a rpg, plus it has a icon shown on the map if theres a tank, it used to be a OP killing machines months back though, the lazer is the new tank every lobby theres a player with a lazer its a good way to boost your kd if your good with it.

Is this a serious question (where's the poll, anyway)? The jet is far superior. If we can make this question fair let's use the tank before it got nerfed its armor - just for the sake of arguing. The jet has homing rockets and machine guns (let's ignore the homing off as they weren't in the game when the tank used to be good and let's be honest; who uses homing off in the jet, seriously). The tank only has tank shells which blow everything up on impact. With the jet having two types of ammunition you can pick one depending on the type of situation. The tank's shells might be the only thing you need, though, right? It destroys anything it touches so it's a good all-rounder. The jet having the machine guns is a much better advantage as they're quicker than the tank's ammunition is. Put a tank versus a tank and the fight will require 4-8 shots, possibly more seeing we're talking about the super-armored tank version. Now put a tank versus a jet where it's using its machine guns - completely destroying the tank in one swoop (two swoops if you half-assed it and the tank has all its super-armor). The tank COULD hit the jet and blow it up in one shot so it's also some sort of draw. Honestly it depends on player skill. The tank is deadly but the jet is more versatile. That brings me to my next point; the jet can cross the map much faster than the tank can, reaching targets first and getting a few shots in before the tank can. Also, the target may run away from the tank - no one can run away from a jet. You can HIDE from a jet but you can't run.

Buzzard>Jet>Tank

This would be my argument. A buzzard can keep out of a reach of a tank and if you have a co-pilot you can rain down rockets (slow, though) on the tank while keeping out of sight of his cannon. A jet will destroy a buzzard so that's the only real enemy it has (and a heavy sniper). My vote goes to the buzzard due to landing on rooftops to snipe - not only can you land it where it's out of reach of other players so they can't steal it but you can use it again safely whereas the tank can get stolen by a mugger and landing a jet isn't the smartest idea. The buzzard has more options to it and is a real war machine that's leaning on the tactical side while the jet has agility and the tank has brute force. I'd pick the buzzard every day in most situation.
