Cool things to do

Hey there's, so for a while now, a few have been thinking about populating a nice little database of fun things to do in GTA both SP and Online.

Its my hope that we as a group, can collectively add to this topic with fun things to do, and have a laugh trying each others ideas.

I have the personal blessing of WildBrick, and its possible we can get this thread pinned if there's a good amount of support, but first a few ground rules.

Please no one use this thread to bash the game, or other GTA titles, and don't put generic things such as police standoff, or roleplaying. But you could have a more specific idea, such as roleplaying as fireman, or assassin.

Firstly, a cool thing Ive started doing is getting a wanted level of around 2/3 stars, drive around the city slowly a create a group of around 4 or 5 cop cars, and floor it on the opposing lane of the highway, and watch them dart in and out of traffic often crashing and causing huge road accidents, and its pretty challenging as well, I recommend using an average car.

Another thing, turn off the HUD and radar completely, turn down brightness fully, so its almost pitch black, and ride around the chilliad wilderness, on a scorcher bike, it can actually get pretty creepy when you can only see 2 metres in front, also I recommend turning it up, using head phones and playing in the dark, it creeped me out, reminded me of a slender game, felt really isolated.

Lets keep it breezy people :) enjoy

ALL CREDIT GOES TO USER "EMELEN"

CONTAINS SPOILERS!!

After 'Caida Libre' but before 'The Paleto Score' whilst Trevor and Michael are in exile away from the city due to Trevor kidnapping Martin Madrazo's wife, I'll get Trevor to take a heli and land it on the rear of the pink 'Cabinets and Carpets' building in the centre of the pic below:

0_0.jpg

When Trevor exits the chopper and takes cover behind the raised facade, he'll get a call from Martin Madrazo saying his spotters will locate Trevor.. When a few of his goons show up, shoot a few to get yourself a two-star wanted level and leave it at that, then just sit back and watch the ensuing gunbattle as more of Martin's men and more cops arrive until it turns a quiet little crossrads into a minor warzone..

0_0.jpg

But be warned, as more and more vehicles arrive and clog the train tracks, the inevitable happens and the resulting explosion usually freezes my console!! lol.. ;-)

Try to parachute on top of the cable car.

Land a Lazer on the peak of Mt. Josiah.

I like to take a car (any car really) mod it up, turn on LSRR, shoot a cop in the head, and then try to make it around the island on the freeway while maintaining the three star wanted level. I haven't made it past Paleto bay but once.

Take a chopper to Paleto Bay and land on the roof of the chicken factory here: (notice the windows under the water tower)

Land your chopper on the roof:

Climb in this window:

This is the room under the water tower

Now you can take pot shots with your RPG to really annoy the police!

Enjoy!

Stand on top of an overpass, and snipe the drivers in the cars going down the highway and watch them crash. Sometimes they even explode.

I like to make epic NPC wars by making a Capture Content Creator in the middle of the Vagos turf with props, explosives and random unlimited spawn NPCs fighting Gang Members, Cops and eachother while I hover above in a chopper watching the chaos. It's also fun to make your own missions that way. You don't even have to publish or anything. Just do it in test mode.

behind, sorta south south-west, of the Vagos projects in South LS, is a nice little closed in fuel yard with various fuel tanks. it's a nice place to start a 4-star police alert because both cops and vagos will swarm and attack you there, and then start attacking each other.

last night I must have had 25-30 cops and Vagos fighting each other haha sooooo many red dots on my radar

also...

South LS with cops and either Vagos/Ballas chasing you is an awesome place to do running shootouts, too

you can run between all the yards, hopping fences and shooting around house corners... it's such a cool place to do an on-foot chase and shootout

Another I often do is play as T, get a cargobob, pick up F in his car, using the grappling hook, get as high as Ican and drop the car, quickly switch to F and try and land safely.

Try flying the jet through the widmills

Fly your Vestra or Besra above Fort Z. without dying. The longer you stay unharmed the better your score.

I kept doing this in SP for ages.

Idk, one thing I dont like about V is the lack of all that stuff. In San Andreas you had a lot of things to do. There also were like vehicles that had special activities, like the bike on the harbor and so on.

I miss a lot of the sidemissions from San Andreas.

I wished they would implement the Editor in the man game, sort of. Like you can build a ramp while in-game in free roam. Would offer so many possibilities.

I like to be driven around, so i actually get to enjoy the little details on road sides.

For example:

1. As Franklin, stop before a bus in a car, climb atop the car and then atop the bus.

Enter stealth, so it looks like you're surfing the bus.

If you want to have a bus rodeo, briefly target the driver through the roof.

2. Find a Bison with a boat hanger. Climb in the boat, listen to the radio, enjoy the view. The camera doesn't snap back, as the game assumes you're in a idling boat. Threating the driver of Bison usually ends up in erratic driving, making the trailer eventually snapping off. Would use for funny end of the trip.

3. Hijack a Hauler with a trailer, drive around. Everyone is driving Haulers now.

Stop one, climb quickly atop the trailer, don't stand in the middle because of traffic lights.

Get driven around.

4. Wait for Tracey as Franklin to come out of Michaels house as she enters her Issy. Enter the Issy as a passenger.

Get driven around in first person.

Flip birds behind you - it look like Franklin giving Tracey a kiss.

5. To be driven offroad in a taxi, wait until the evening, so the hikers won't hinder the mexican driver AI of blasting full speed on bumpy roads in Chiliad park (unfortunately, the mexican guy won't drive up the Chiliad mountain)

One thing I started doing, is getting a buzzard, and chasing a mule truck, and try and destroy it with the machine gun only, and pretend its like a truck full of criminal stuff and it takes you on a long chase, of finnecky and annoying shooting

Gnocchi Flip Flops

- Trying out car photography in new, scenic places (that's always fun for me)

- Cruising around following every road rule (it forces you to pay attention to your surroundings and admire the world)

- Get out of your car and walk along the coast or explore beach houses/backyards/random landmarks

- Stay on the freeway and cruise non-stop, listening to your favorite radio station

- Take a random crappy car and customize it the way somebody with bad taste would in the ghetto

- Try to go off-roading in an SUV

Stand in oncoming traffic, arm yourself with a pistol (NOT the AP) and try to kill the drivers before they run you over.

@ApexPredator: If you try emelen's idea closer to Grove Street, Ballas get involved too.

Get a golf cart or dirtbike (I prefer golf cart) and go to Sandy Shores. Go to the area by Trevor's where there's a ridge before the water. Hit the ridge at high speed and try to do ridiculous tricks.

Go around giving people the finger.

You know how during a chase the cops will ram your vehicle? Look in rear view, wait till the car's about to ram you and then swerve out of the way. The results are sometimes hilarious. One time I had a cop car behind me and one coming at me. I swerved out of the way and the car behind me hammered the one in front of me off a cliff.

You can try having a shootout with all three characters but before long one will get killed and the other will run off like a pussy.

When I'm driving somewhere outside LS, I always like driving cross-country, over the mountains. Much more fun than taking the freeway.

I thought this was the perfect place for a shootout where no one would get killed or spooked. And then f*cking Frank wouldn't climb into the room. Mike did but he wouldn't. I wish you could switch during those times for things like that.

Landing the Lazer or Besra on the Maze Bank is always fun. As many times as I've successfully done it, its still challenging. There are other good spots to attempt landings too, its really just a matter of flying around until you see a small flat place to land, whether it be on buildings or terrain.

If you land a heli on the life guard station by the volleyball courts, you have a pretty good spot for cop shootouts, because they can't get inside. You'll understand if you check it out.

Switch to the cinematic camera when you get wanted stars. Not only is it a challenge to see how long you can last, but it does make it seem like a chase out of the movies, as the camera cuts from your car to the dashboard cam of pursuing cop cars and, later, helicopters

Just realised I repeated myself with the windmill idea so Ill redeem myself.

I really LOVE playing as F, modding a dubsta 6x6 and having a demolition derby with the police on the train track, (not tram tracks) of south LS, it is hilariously funny, something out of SA, its so satisfying to see a huge freight train take out 3 police cars, with you inside the cluster f*ck.

I can't drive worth a crap with cinematic cam on, especially in a chase. I really wish the game saved your last 5 or 10 minutes of play into a replay that you could watch and edit from the pause menu so you could get in a chase with normal camera views in order to drive properly and then go watch the replay in cinematic camera. Something like Driver San Francisco.
