Fully upgraded car, top speed decreased.

Anyone experienced this? I tried searching but could'nt find anything on it. I got a Serrano SUV fully upgraded for racing. But when I compare the stats of it with the stock Serrano at the selection screen, the stock Serrano has higher top speed than my custom one. It's about half a bar slower.

Also I think it's the same with my Intruder but I have'nt double checked.

Edit: I compared the stats of all my custom cars against their stock versions and the Serrano is the only one where the top speed drops. Everything else is fine though. But I only compared 40 cars and there's a lot more obviously, LOL! Maybe it's just the Serrano.

That's how it's always worked.. Stock cars have always been faster than tuned cars.

Since gta doesn't say how detailed it actually is, certain cars' modifications would be a lot more complex than just 'Enginr upgrade 1'.

The only thing that directly improves hp and torque are the cams and faster cams are a lot heavier, leading to slightly slower top speed. Although it's unnoticeable, gta still has it wrong in that it's decreased significantly.

Pretty much the same as any other modification. Turbochargers are heavy as f*ck since it needs a lot of oomf to transport exhaust gases and natural air flow through to the engine via dual turbines, often with intercoolers since they assist in cooling.

Pretty much common knowledge, I know little about cars.

Yeah lol, I was only talking about the game. Just seems weird that none of my other vehicles drops top speed when fully upgraded. The simplicity is kind of what I like about the racing in this game. If it were to be realistic we should have been able to choose manual shifting instead of automatic at least, but I don't think it would be as fun then. There's other games for that.

Rip off the armor.

The armor mods slow you down.

Now that's great advice, thx! Was'nt aware. Also, anyone know a good SUV for racing? (Not the Huntley)

I use the Audi. Not the fastest but handles the best out of all suvs and can corner like an Elegy.

I use the Baller Sport version if I prefer speed but again it doesnt handle or corner as well.

Im not the best driver so I always take handling as my first priority. No point in beating everyone out of the gates if you cant hold the lead.

OP Why not go into LSC and just scroll through the upgrades? You can see what changes they will make to top speed without actually buying them, so you can see if there is anything affecting it.

Actually I just did. I sold my old one and picked up a new one and went through the upgrades. But the top speed never changed, until the selection screen before the races. LOL!

Maybe it's the transmission?

Shorter gearing will increase acceleration, but will decrease top speed.
