Does anyone feel disappointed with R*?

What disappointed me the most about R*, is their lack of respect toward their fans.

They try to give us the feeling that they care about us, but it feels so fake most of the time.

 

They don't communicate a lot about important thing, and most of the time they do, it's lies or over exaggeration of the truth.

 

In fact, they have lost so much credibility in my mind, that I don't believe what they promise us any more (I was naïve enough to believe them not so long ago).

 

The worst they did, is by far their communication about GTA V. They have never respect us at any time (ridiculously long period of silence, tons of misleading information, I even remember seeing the community manager getting rude because player were asking informations promised months ago ...), however it didn't prevent them to earn enough money to feed an African country for months. I could write for hours about the problem, but I guess you know what I mean.

 

I would be happy to read arguments (by arguments, I don't mean stupid and rude comments) coming from members who disagree with what I just wrote.

In a way, yes I am pretty disappointed in R*. With GTA Online and mainstream crap they are joining (and breaking their mystique tradition) R* aren't as good as they were back in the days. This is just an opinion, I hope nobody gets mad or anything like usual.

It's hard to describe, but very successful and very unproductive, disrespectful studio out there, probably sounds weird. Problem is it's no real competition for GTA. Why while GTA breaking records no ones trying to invest bunch on money and build similar game as GTA.

Given the current and recent circumstances, would you say that you are disappointed or feel let down by Rockstar?

Personally I am disappointed for many reasons, one of which is despite having studios all over the world and billions of dollars in assets they can't meet up with scheduled events and releases.

Every bit of DLC they've released has been sh*t, and served no purpose but to try get people to spend money and in turn buy cash cards. Now they've also delayed the PC release, so yes. I was hoping for FAR more before GTA V was released, how naive. They are one of the worst companies out there now IMO.

My problem isn't with V. It's with C* and their hypocritical marketing. The entire life of V (NOT GTAO), pre release and after, has been nothing but bait and switch tactics, sloppy seconds, and failed potential. Rockstar has made it very clear that they couldn't give less of a f*ck about single player. And with the new versions of GTA V coming, it's the SAME regurgitated garbage. They will promote V until release, hype it up, throw it in a corner, and focus completely on GTAO. GTAO comes on the disc with V, so they have to make people want the game. f*ck Rockstar, f*ck GTAO, and f*ck their greed and lies. Once a saint in the gaming industry, they're nothing more than an overhyped name.

Look, OG convinced himself that the majority of fans hate or dislike GTA V...and that s fine, but what you need to stop doing is adding fuel on the fire; he cannot be reasoned with, stop trying.

 

To answer the question, I am not dissapointed with Rockstar at all. I noticed there was a lack of some features I thought would be in the game but all the other stuff they added made up for it. I will wait for a bit after they release the NG version to see exactly what was added before I make a choice about buying it again though.

While it doesn't lessen my enjoyment of V, I can agree with this. I thought waiting for info about dlc for IV was bad.

Not dissapointed at all. They delivered a great game, I got my money's worth. There were some setbacks with online, but I don't mind I can wait, or sh*t I dunno play some other game in the meantime. Thing nowadays is people aren't patient, they'll bitch and moan to get sh*t early and when it does come early they bitch and moan because it'd rushed. Rockstar has a tough crowd to please, because the community doesn't even know what it wants from the series.

 

Some of the people in this community are almost as bad as CoD kiddies.

R* was my favorite developer since GTA III. But with all the cut corners with GTA V, horrible handling of GTA: O, and now that next gen is getting stuff that PS3 and 360 aren't but should, I don't think very highly of them anymore.

Nope, I never said that. I said that a significant portion of GTA fans criticize, dislike, or feel disappointed with V. Judging by what I've seen on here, on other sites, and personally speaking with other GTA fans, at a snapshot it's a reasonable conclusion.

I beg to differ, that's bullsh*t. The critics of V knew exactly what they wanted from V, they have cited it and posted it on here numerous times over and over again, and they still do. Surely by now you should know the most common complaints about V off the top of your head ? I won't even go over them again, you should know this.

 

Even now, the critics of V know exactly what needs to be done to the game to make them like it again. But will Rockstar do it ? Probably not.
