OldeNomad
Hi guys, I'm looking to spend up to £2,500 on a gaming PC (preferably closer to the £2,000 mark) and would appreciate it if someone could recommend me parts to buy. I'm looking at getting an AMD R9 295x2 which cost around the £1,000 mark, but I'm told they are incredible. If you guys could list it like below, that would be great: CPU: CPU Cooler: Motherboard: Memory: Storage: Video Card: Case: Power Supply: Optical Drive: Misc (E.g. Case Fans): Total: Thanks in advance.
yoječ
I'd ditch the idea of R9-295X2, these cards are not really safe to use as they violate ATX spec (too much current going through PCIe connectors). Are you going to overclock the CPU?

sivispacem
I'd run two GX780s instead. 95% of the performance for 60% of the cost. The huge 295X2 only really has a marked advantage at huge resolutions. Nice config. As you still have 1100 pounds left of budget, I'd suggest you to get a nice 2k - 4k monitor! Or a bigass LED IPS one if you are not too confident about how your system would run 4k, but you want the best visuals and performance at a 1080p res
sivispacem
I'd probably get a 1440p monitor. Decent frames plus nearly as good looking as most of the commercial 4K stuff. ASUS PG278Q would be my choice. Every bit as good as the IPS screens for gaming and arguably a better colour balance. Plus 144Hz refresh. Just got myself a 23'' IPS Asus screen and I can't believe it still. I was coming from a 19'' 900p (upscaled 1080p) lcd tv and DAMN. The difference is enormous. I totally recommend it -> http://gtaforums.com/topic/737661-help-me-choose-a-new-monitor/?do=findComment&comment=1066193560 sivispacem
sivispacem
That IPS is great (I'm planning on getting one) but with the OP's budget it would be rude not to get a 1440p. If you are in a tight budget, that ASUS IPS is a very nice deal, but having that budget I would have a monster rig hahaha
