Anybody else finds the faces unsettling in new gen V?

I think they're in the uncanny valley now. Trevor's face when talking to Maude just looks wrong somehow, devoid of emotions. Same with Franklin and Michael.

 

It'll probably be better if they use their face motion capture technology for the next open world game.

nah, not really... GTA V always had a bit of a cartoon-ish look to it. it's 'off' juuuuuust enough that it feels stylized... like, it looks more like GTA V concept art than trying to be realistic. i never really though photo realism was the 'look'. not like Sleeping Dogs or something. it's definitely a little stylized.

 

i know what you mean about that Trevor and Maude scene though... i noticed the same thing. but he looks a little funny/interesting on PS3 too. it's because of the body movement and how his face moves in terms of timing with his voice. i always thought it was an interesting scene before as well.

 

anyhow to fix it, just give all the characters beards! sometimes they look better that way anyways haha....

 

Michael, shaved head with a beard = Max Payne (3)

Franklin, shaved head and beard = Rick Ross

Trevor, mullet and beard = hybrid between the Drug Kingpin from Michael Mann's Miami Vice and Waingro from Heat

 

 

throw in some tats and it's totally different story when they look like that haha completely changes how the scenes feel or the mood you get from the characters

Actually, I find that most faces didn't change much and I'm kinda dissapointed by that, the only two people that looked different were Peter Dreyfuss (worse off) and Omega (much better off, but maybe that's the lighting).

And we got the same car in the same colour! I freaked out when I saw his car in one of the pre-release trailers.

really? I though Luckens looks way better. you can really notice the improved ambient occlusion on his hand

haha i'm serious though, try it... he looks so much like Rick Ross with the big spartan beard

 

throw on a big white t-shirts, shorts, pure white shoes, a hat, and the Gold Tryarch sunglasses from Suburban and maybe a Enus to roll in
