What is the dumbest thing you have done during a mission?

Everyone knows you need to waste time in order to get a normal payout now...

When playing Coveted I accidentally dropped the container and it got wedged in under the bridge near the wind farm, Fair to say the guy I was playing the mission with nearly strained his unbroken voice as he insulted me.

 

This one isn't really my fault but I was sort of to blame so in a way it was:

 

About a week ago when I was doing the Chasers 2 mission for Simeon (Which pays quite decently if you do it correctly and don't go guns blazing within the first minute)

anyway when we got the car, hijacked it and tried to outrun the super twin turbocharged Ballers the other player in the car with me shooting at them didn't quite kill the driver right behind us and because of that they managed to burst the rear tire. When the tire finally gave away and you could hear the wheel scraping we spun out of control, crashed into wooden lamp post and of course came to a full stop (R* logic). They killed us and because you only get one life to share during missions we failed it and hard to start from the beginning. IMO the only bad thing I did was wait for him to get in the car with me, In the time it took for him to run over and get in the car the super Ballers had time to spawn and drive straight to out location.

Was playing Judging the Jury with another Player. They died and then left and forgetting I was originally playing with another player, as I had not died yet myself, I jumped out my Buzzard near Madrazo's to Kill Myself and lose my wanted level...Mission Failed.

Los Santos Connection - Got the Buzzard, while teammates cleaned up first location and got GPS coordinates to second location; flew in launching rockets left and right, feeling badass taking out every enemy as they popped up... cleared that location, picked up team, flew to airport and dropped them under cover around the sides of the building, then started blowing sh*t up in the warehouse... Now normally, I use the L/R bumpers to target and specifically avoid firing a rocket into the upper right corner since I've been in missions where someone ELSE blew up the objective. This time I wasn't paying attention, and as I fired the rocket and watched it scream away, I realized where it was headed, too late to do anything about it... Boom, objective destroyed, mission failed. SMH.

 

Grab Your Ballas- The other stupid thing I did was grief a griefer and stoop to their level. This jackass blew up PV's purposely at the start, then tried to run players over; somehow doofus managed to suicide, so I was the sole survivor (had to go pick the truck up from the other side of the map, since dillweed drove it in the opposite direction from the delivery point before dying). Other players had quit at this point but not this guy. So I drove around, randomly, hitting things. Eventually parked the truck in the middle of the freeway, climbed on top and drank all my Pisswassers til I was good and drunk and then started beating passing cars with a golf club for about 20 minutes, before realizing he was tenacious and wasn't going to quit. I wasn't going to give him completed mission cash for being a turd, so I stepped into freeway traffic, club swinging, and died, mission fail. He quickly restarts before I can quit from the vote screen, so I figure ok, it's on... I blow his PV and crush him to death once. He managed to get to a safe spot and call his PV back in, but he can't get to it without me crushing him, so it's a stand off. Finally I get bored and go start ramming the sh*t out of his car (Cocquette Classic) with him watching (why blow it up, he'd just call it back in) and he apparently can't take seeing the abuse and makes a break for it. He managed to get into it just in time before I could crush him. Now it's a stand off again since we each have immunity in our vehicles, and it just turns into demolition derby with neither one of us able to damage the other. However, I had an advantage in being in a Dubsta 6x6 and managed to pin his car against a wall with him unable to move. Left it like that for a while until a stupid NPC Baller shot me dead. So I instaquit since I wasn't about to spectate that douchenozzle. Should've just quit first thing instead of wasting my time on that POS. Stupid of me. Lesson learned.

I remember when I started some missions with other people we would accidentally begin in the middle of nowhere and had to walk our way to the nearest road

 

I also remember some times when playing Rooftop Rumble where a grenade I chucked would hit an invisible wall and roll back to me...

My favorite dumb thing I did in a mission-

I started Titan of a job, and someone of a lower rank randomly joined. All went smoothly, and got to the Titan- I was feeling like a hotshot because I had most of the kills. I got in the Titan, then let him in before taking off. We flew to Sandy Shores and were about to deliver the plane. As I was closing in for the landing, I stalled the plane. We crashed, died, and failed the mission. Immediately I left the session and quit for the night, embarrassed and ashamed of myself...

Just yesterday we where doing landing strip and I flied the plane from the beach to sandy shores then guys jump out and clear the field ok I'm clear to land or am I fck I forgot to put down the landing gear... FAIL!!! Bet my crew members where not happy damn felt like a fool lol.

-I was playing Titan of a Job. with my friends I decided to fly the Titan myself. I thought i could show off to my friends. So i tried doing a barrell roll and crashed to the ground like a rock.

 

- I shot down the Cargobob in Coveted once. It was my first time playing the mission. I saw a red helicopter blip on the HUD. So my first thought was to shoot it down. I felt really stupid after that.

last night. sticky bombed one of the black sentinels/whatever in rooftop rumble and blew myself up.. out of lives.

 

cried when I realised the other people in the mission were going to sit tghere and wait 10 minutes to get a 25k payout..

(despite the fact that you can do the mission twice in 10 mins easy and get 30K+ in payouts and MORE RP... )

 

Quit mission, avoided invites after that.

A random launched Defender and I joined. I killed the contact and we replayed it. I texted him "sorry man" before getting in the Buzzard. "no problem". Killed the contact again.

I left the mission and the game before the "Failed" message appeared.

One of the first times I played Base Invaders, we had spent about 20 minutes killing the infinite spawns and eventually managed to get the Heli. I jumped back into Rons plane and flew back to the airfield. Similar to you, I thought I would jump out of the plane and land on the Helicopter but before I could even do that, the plane crashed and the mission failed saying "Rons plane has been destroyed". I had to dashboard as I was so embarrassed.

 

Other times include, hitting a wing of the Titan, on "A Titan of a Job", on a pole that I couldn't see right near the runway.

 

Similar to the first one, I blew up that truck that you use to pick up the containers in Docks to Stock I and II, ended up failing the mission even though the guy had picked up the container with the Cargobob.

 

I guess at least I now know what can be destroyed on a mission and what can't be. Although, I do get really anxious on Base Invaders when someone is flying the plane back to the airfield after we have retrieved the Cargobob. I always fear they will do the same as me.

I've done that. Did a mission with someone on here one time that forgot to put down the landing gear and we made it lol

That's usually the people that get ran over if they do that in a mission I'm in

You reminded me of the first time I ever played Base Invaders. I was a lowly 30ish level and was invited to play the mission by two other randoms. The first three attempts failed, and by that time one of the randoms left. It's just me and the host left. We fail one more time. Final time to complete the mission. We enter into the Zancudo and I come across a Lazer. Bonus. I get in and start smacking the seven shades of holy shyte out of the base.

 

All was going well. The host random moved from her position and started to go towards the cargobob. I fly in with the intent of killing that last soldier for the path to be clear. This was back in the days before I knew what damage and ease the jet bullets caused, so I am going rockets all the way.

 

....

 

 

I slammed that rocket straight into the hangar and blew up the cargobob.

 

/facepalm.

That is patently untrue. That's not all they do - sometimes they run you over, or destroy the objective. Or die in the first seconds of the opening exchange. Sometimes they do all of those things and blow your PV up as well.

 

Then there's:

• getting the objective then hiding in a wall waiting for everyone to rage-quit
• waiting for you to get the objective then running you down in the 5 seconds that you're outside of your PV.
• Shooting your tires out when you jack an NPC car.
• PITing you on the way to the objective.
• Knocking you out of cover during firefights

And that's not even all. See? They do way more than stand around making you carry them.

 

Still, can't argue with your first line - sometimes the dumbest thing to do was to let these muppets into my mission in the first place.

This wasn't something that I did, but a dumbass on our job decided to park the objective truck in a field next to Madrazo's barn/garage in Stick Up the Stickup Crew. What he didn't account for was that I know how to hijack vehicles from other players. (;

 

We still got 21k and 4k RP, but c'mon man, I ain't waiting all day...

played Death from Above for the first time last week, alone. I'm level 129 so I thought i'd be properly equipped for it....

 

 

Barely got through the gate. How do people even do this mission?

 

I go in through the side gate, just shoot and cover and quickly get around the house to kill and photograph the target.

Then I shoot and cover my way out and drive away to lose the warning level. I'll try hide by some of the houses if I die and can't get to my pv.

Did Titan of a Job a little while ago. Blew up the dock handler (if that's what it is?) to kill anyone that was hiding behind it and it got stuck in front of the left wing of the jet. I got it out but the 2 left props got torn off. Had to take off and land with only the two right engines. Passed it but still lol, took a while.
