Lee Everett
NSA will spy more on everyone now? Right before Jibo has enough of humans and destroy us all? Look it up...It's Jibo..The beginning of the robot apocalypse. Link: Edited September 15, 2014 by Lee Everett
Dumb guy
NSA does that already. But I could see this being helpful. Hope it has a power switch. But NSA.
universetwisters
This is f*cking terrifying. We must kill it before it learns to reproduce and takes us over. But legit though, I saw the video and I got to the part where everybody's talking to the robot like it's a legit part of the family. I dunno if it's the fact that I grew up with very little technology in my home but the general premise that a robot can be accepted as a "buddy" and playmate to the kids, whatever, is generally f*cking scary. gtamann123

sivispacem
Yeah, that's not even close to proper artificial intelligence. Picking particular dictionary words out of people's messages is about as far from machine learning as you can get. Its about as intelligent as Siri. And that can't even tell me how to dispose of a body anymore. Another crowd-funded borderline scam. sivispacem
This has quite literally f*cking nothing to do with surveillance. Let's not muddle two totally unrelated topics. na89340qv0n34b09q340
According to the promotional video he's intended to work as a scheduler, webcam, and notification doo-hikey as well as talk in an intimidating wolf voice. And it'll have a developer store. That's all hopeful predictions of course, since he's not released yet. (OP posted the video too, just embedding it for visibility.) So kinda like a smartdevice that moves its head around. It's cute, but no more human than any other toy with a voicebox.
