What would you rate GTA Online?

341 members have voted

  1. 1. Give a rate of 1-10 for what you think of Online

Recommended Posts

I'd give it a 7-8 out of 10.

I think it's a very good game overall but I have too many issues with it. Such as the AI, cops, combat system, PvP and the free-roam and race community. No one ever plays gamemodes such as LTS and Captures, and there's not much to do with money on it, other than buy and customise cars.

In regards to cash cards, DLC and so on, I don't give a sh*t. The DLC can be underwhelming at times but at least it's free and comes out fairly often. And no one is forcing you to buy cash cards.

Gave it a 6. Just finally sick of the loading screens freezing up and all the connection issues when trying to play. It's gotten a little boring as well and they added a lot of content but nothing really new in terms of gameplay, especially in free roam. Like any game, it gets stale after a while and then the bugs just kill it off completely. I won't lie though, I still play maybe once to twice a week, lol. But overall the addiction has worn off.

Edit: I would bump my score to an 8 though if the connectivity issues and matchmaking was fixed up a bit. Still, I played this game for many, many hours, so definitely got my money's worth. One of the best of online games after a year.

Because I'm not into the missions, and tend to muck about more with the story characters, I keep finding new things to play with.

For example, there are signal arms over the tracks and it's fun to jump on the train after harassing the cops. Code-spawn some buzzards or trashmasters over the rails and watch the BOOM.

At the northeast part of the map (Braddock Pass I think it's called), climb onto the engine and see the squad cars screech toward you ON THE TRACKS, with no room to avoid the locomotive.

Have your invincibility on for this, lol ...

Also there are little rock islands around the coast where you can take down the choppers, which sometimes land a little too close ..

All in all, I basically create my own adventures and don't give a fig about the missions!

with GTA Online getting close to 1 year closing in, how would you rate it? give a short reason as to how and what you think about it if you like.

personally i rate it 7/10. i think it is somewhat close to what i was expecting and Online for me has been a fun adventure and has been quite good for what it is since i started. yes there were hick ups and hills in the road, but really for me the only thing i can really find disappointing would the community itself.

I would have to agree with you except I would give the game a 9/10. Probably one of the best games I've ever played

After some consideration my 1 year verdict of GTA: Online is an 8/10. I was deliberating between 7 and 8 but it just about gets an 8, for me.

I expected GTA:O to be much better with a typical Rockstar seal of excellence but I've always found the concept of GTA:O to be surprisingly crude and simple. I was really hoping for an immersive world that I could live and build a life/career in but instead it's closer to a free-roam lobby to access mini-games filled with players that are encouraged only to attract to other 'blips' on the radar, mostly resulting in aggressive and unjust actions. The free-roam activities are poorly constructed with no overall game progression or rewarding collectibles to keep you entertained.

Having said all that, it's the entire map of GTA with 16 (soon to be 30) players doing whatever they want - all at the same time. That is an unbelievable feat and with next gen, the effect should be even better.

I had my most fun with a crew of friends, just running around doing "stuff", but they've mostly all upgraded to next-gen now so I play solo and the experience is sometimes monotonous.

GTA:O has the potential to easily get a 10/10 but it needs structure, purpose, a polish and better defined rule sets - to combine with the miracle of running an online GTA world - to make this the best game of all time.

Game isn't a total bust, needs improvement but mostly I'm happy with it. Most people say more needs to be added, I agree, but I knew more would be added when it arrived on next gen. So here is to the last 2 months on xbox 360 and I can't wait for next gen release.

Game still freezes.

Stupidly high prices.

Cash cards.

Decreased payouts.

Not A Nice Person

I like the game but it doesn't really feel complete, There's a lot of stuff R* could do and a lot of interiors are locked, I'm giving it a high score because of the free cut content but the gameplay is limited and I feel like if we had more adventurous options I would give it a 10.

And they keep giving us free sh*t. Cars and guns. Almost monthly.

Well you say that but it isn't really true in the main because you either have to spend hours grinding to buy the really good stuff or just bend over and buy shark cards. Not to mention since GTAO began they have put up the price of the more higher end vehicles and don't forget the 'limited time only' con they have going.

Sure if you play GTAO regardless a lot then you would probably have the funds. But the term 'FREE' really is a double edged sword in this arena.

Ever since the mission nerfs back in high life, online has just gone to sh*t with modded money lobbies and stuff. Plus still no heists

Since there are cash cards and heists have still not been released. Also they choose to cater to 12 year old hackers that inhabit Online instead of catering to the real fans that play the real game, V. It's sad that R* has totally abandoned V.

CatchMeTrolling

Its a 7 at best but thats only because of free roam, if it didnt have free roam I wouldn't play it so including that its really like a 5

I think 8 is appropriate

It's very ambitious, maybe too ambitious (faulty servers and inconsistent connection?). It can get a bit repetitive sometimes

However, it's fun to play with others and it's hard to seriously argue with the amount of free content R* has provided over the months.

Very 1st thing you interact with is character creator and its shocking and sh*t. Saints Row sh*ts on it.

Created jobs was abused because cash cards heavily effect the way the game is shaped.

Low cash and rp heavily effect the game as a whole.

No more introductions to new characters after level 19.

The only saving grace was the car customs & free roam.

And now 1.17 is the final update. i thought this game was a prank

i want to give it a 10 but there was just too much cut content/lack of features and too many griefers&modders ruining the game... not mind the money glitches or fun/harmless glitches I'm talking about the random large objects in the street and in garages and unable to kill a player because there in "god mode" and I'm hearing now that they starting to take money and cars away from us.

....good thing i haven't played the game since the flight school weekend event

I went with 8. Me and my partner are still playing it almost daily together.

It would've got a 10 but:

- poor network handling code

- no way to get rid of those 1M RP jobs

Those two things really need sorting out.

Positives:

- Races are fun with the right settings and enough players.

- Capture is fun.

- Versus modes are fun.

- Free-roam is fun in invite only.

- Good amount of free DLC.

Negatives:

- Races aren't fun without the right settings.

- Deathmatches and LTS sucks.

- Expected to have more Creators at this time, like a Survival Creator.

- Free roam is a huge piece of sh*t in open lobbies for various reasons. One being the sh*tty community, second being the hacks/mods Rockstar fail to fix.

- Was expecting to have a mayor DLC/add-o by now, like Heists, a casino or North Yankton.

- Lack of customization for Pegasus vehicles such as watercraft and aircraft disappoint me.

- Matchmaking is still a piece of sh*t. I still can't find a lobby with a good amount of people in it.

- Lack of animals (hoping this will be fixed on PS4, XB1 and PC, but I doubt it).

- Lack of proper underwater exploration and activities.

- Hard to earn money with racing unless you constantly finish high in a decently sized lobby.

- The community.

- No point in leveling up past level 120.

3/10

I voted an 8 and I'm surprised people had that same idea. GTA Online is a good game. Not great, but I will have fun playing it generally. It would have been a 9 but in typical fashion, R* ruined all the fun with it.

8. It hasn't lived up to its potential on this gen, but its still better than almost anything out there right now. I've probably spent a good 80% of my gaming time this past year on GTA.

It's a good game overall, not going to lie, it's well worth the 30+ days of playtime that I've put into it. However the bugs, glitches, exploits, lack of content, long loading screens, sh-tty matchmaking system, and annoying pause menu drop it a few points on my scale.

I'll give it a 7.

so going by the votes it looks like the majority of 322 people rate Online 7-8/10. not bad and just above what i thought it would get.

thanks to everyone who voted. :beerhat:
