1 year what do you think?

with GTA Online getting close to 1 year closing in, how would you rate it? give a short reason as to how and what you think about it if you like.

 

personally i rate it 7/10. i think it is somewhat close to what i was expecting and Online for me has been a fun adventure and has been quite good for what it is since i started. yes there were hick ups and hills in the road, but really for me the only thing i can really find disappointing would the community itself.

8 since this game kept me hanging....a bit on the wrong way but generaly on the good way

Never exoected a dlc each month, tank grievers being something of the past and mission payouts being balanced

And at the moment again its been a while sibce i encountered a modder

We have had over the expected amount of free content, and even with the community trying it damnest to screw it with the endless amount of exploits and glitches we are still getting free content.

And almost forgot, listening to the community.

Like restoring the Ratloader and rebel, making the upgrades on the loader free and adding trivial features like rearranging cars in the garagr.

I rated it a 10. I've never had such a great time playing an online game besides GTA IV. If I was still in school like I was for IV would play this game quite a bit more. The different game modes were cool, I enjoyed plenty of the rewards, and dog fighting in a gta game was/is AWESOME.

 

I'm always going to look back fondly at this game, like I did PLENTY of titles from '97.I remember the first day online was working CORRECTLY ( I still remember creating my character at 7:30 on 10/1/13...) And seeing the birds and the bees wall paper... not knowing how bad ass my pappy john marston is... (I finally played the game a month ago...) and the opening introduction scene... Change of Coast...

 

It was/is better than I thought it was going to be. This game also got me into a few musical acts I now love. Long story short this game kicked MY ass. My favorite GTA besides one. I can play them both and love the sh*t outta them. And I went back and revisited them recently.

 

Maybe it's even my favorite game of all time. I almost logged on just to kill people while listening to the music in game this week. I love this game too much. When in my car in game, I make it a point to stop at lights, click and hold R3-L3 *avatar starts dancing*

Because of the lack of prommised content including heist. The jobs in this game are all boring and repetative as f*ck. Also because everything is over-priced. Most of the update in this game have been nothing special. Just more over priced junk. I want stuff to DO, not to BUY. That score is me being nice. I wanted to give it a 6/10.

 

Nothing that special about this game IMO.

7 out of 10 for single player because the gameplay was great, besides the very arcadish driving physics, awesome graphics, but the storyline was WEAK, it should have atleast 85 up to 100 missions, At the last mission I don't even remember who were the guys that we were suppossed to kill!

Now if we're talking about online only, 4/10 and that's pushing it too far for me, too many issues with the connection, modders ruining the game, freezing issues, and R* being all about cash cards sales, it's even worse now with the re-release of the game in next-gen consoles by giving exclusive content that was meant for PS3/XBOX in the first place, let's not forget about the broken promisses of heist and casinos that never came to be, it's not that I don't care about that but what they did is called false advertisement, this game made me lost the respect I had for R*.

I'm in the minority(yes, username flames) but there is nothing particularly spectacular about this game(within the GTA series). Bold new direction in gaming was I believe a ad line. I've yet to see it. Don't get me wrong. I had lots of fun with the BF Surfers crew. But this game just doesn't hold my interest with all the bugs etc. 5/10

It'll be interesting to what the average user rating based on samples from GTAF will be in this thread after a week or two.

 

I imagine it's going to fall where I placed my vote, a 7.

 

+ Decent start (first couple months)

+ Strong substance additions (Creators)

+ Decent game mechanics (considering what GTA is)

+ Decent customization/personalization

+ Revamped mission structure

+ Decent released content (what was in each package)

+ Continued experience beyond PS3/360

+/- So-so replay ability

+/- Crew functionality (really hoping it expands)

+/- Ability to make money

+/- Extraneous activities (Darts, Golf, etc)

+/- RSC functionality (really hoping it expands)

- Difficult launch

- Cost of some items

- Poor customer service/lack of communication

- Long delays between released content

- Long delays for fixes/patches

- Fix one thing two more break

 

 

All in all for me personally, it was a very well spent $60 and I do plan to get the PS4 release sometime after its' launch. The various creators and fortune in finding a fantastic crew has kept me here for the duration.

8/10. Rockstar's ambition payed off, but the glitches, bugs, constant lack of patches for wallbreaches, economy is 'ish, those things prevent me from giving it a 10/10.

 

When next gen comes, when GTA Online really takes off and evolves into something new, something more, and maybe what The Benz promised us in that interview...maybe I'll give it a 10/10. But as of right now, it's a distraction that I enjoy playing, but has its flaws that could be corrected.

I give it an 8. Had a rough start but it's still doing well and very enjoyable with friends and randoms who don't shoot on sight. I really wish they took some elements from GTA IV like having a friendly fire off server so you can just much around without worrying about anyone killing you (fun times with the rpg since it won't kill you in gta iv with friendly fire off) and passive mode should protect you even in a car, just lock your weapons too as you would if you were on foot and if you try to kill someone with your vehicle with passive mode on give them a higher bad sport rating.

The honest truth... I give it a 2/10. Shark cards really have a huge impact on how R* handles everything with this game and that has ruined what could have been an amazing game.

Ive gotten my moneys worth out of this game more than any other game ive ever played. Its great free roam fun, upgraded missions mode, and a good single player mode too. Sure there's always a "wishlist " of things I wish we had but that doesn't impact my score. The only reason I didn't go 10/10 was Bc of the glitches and modders. But that's a minor quip.

It's a Free to play game. Everyone knows F2P games = sh*t rewards and microtranactions everywhere

 

Hardly any graphics improvements from GTA. The firearms look like crap compared to IV and the cars aren't any more detailed than IV

 

Horrible start, couldn't connect to anything even with a great Internet speed hooked up through Ethernet

 

Huge number of server issues. The Cloud servers are reliable as a Chauchat in a muddy trench

 

Awful car performance

 

Awful firearm performance

 

It's been one year and nothing noteworthy has been released. Just (most of them) ugly cars, clothing, and guns that all perform the same anyway

 

No friendly fire off lobbies. No trust for any player

 

Armour is useless

 

Trucks are useless. Supercars climb better

 

R* promotes known glitchers, but will go out of their way to ban random players for doing money glitches because they don't want to spend 18,000 years to get something

 

The terrible rewards make this game a snorefest of all you do is missions to make cash

 

R* pulls teeth and nail to fix money glitches and SP-Mp, but don't fix major problems like the freezing issue, god mode, etc

 

All of the fun glitches (gate launch, paint stock rims, etc) have been patched when they claimed that fun glitches would be fixed

I expected GTA0 to be a PvP sh*thole. And Rockstar delivered perfectly on that. I upvoted GTA0 to a 5, however, since the game's virtual world design, large number of physical objects, and cars are so nice,and because Rockstar did add some PvE things to do. But they could have made it so much more. They could have gone in a bold new direction.

Aside from San Andreas, I've spent more time on this game than any other. There's never a dull moment & all 26 days I've played have been good fun. Unfortunately, since it is/was so riddled with bugs, glitches & modders, I'll give it a 9. Current gen/PC should give it that extra nudge.

I like it. It has a sh*tload of things to be fixed and promises to be finally delivered, but it's unique, there's really nothing like it. I play almost everyday too, I don't think an online game has grabbed me this much before (Not even IV MP or SA MP). An 8 for me, 10 when we heists and all the balancing issues sorted out - Which might as well be "never", but we'll see.
