What's up gentleman? So I am manin up for GTA V on PC (and also I sold my crappy ass HD Ready TV, thank god hahah) and I'm switching to a 24'' LED.

So I'm thinking to get one of these, but as I'm no expert on monitors, please help me out.

Also, excuse me for the spanish, but some of the product features come in english or easy understandable spanish, you can even use google translate.

I'm struggling between these ones:

Benq GL2450H

http://www.pccomponentes.com/benq_gl2450h_24__led.html

Acer K K242HLBD

http://www.pccomponentes.com/acer_k_k242hlbd_24__led.html

BenQ GL2460

http://www.pccomponentes.com/benq_gl2460_24__led_dvi.html

Also, my graphics card is this one:

Sapphire R9 270

http://www.pccomponentes.com/sapphire_r9_270_2gb_gddr5.html

The connections are:

  • Connections
    • DVI-I
    • DVI-D
    • HDMI
    • DP

Which cable would I need to plug it to my new screen via DVI?

Thank you a lot!

Well, for starters, it's best to look at the maximum resolution your GPU can put out for each port:

D-Sub (VGA): 2048x1536
DL-DVI: 2500x1600
HDMI 1.4a: 4096x2160
DisplayPort 1.2: 4096x2160

For example, if you want to get an HDMI only monitor, you can't go higher than 4096x2160. Same thing for every port your GPU has.

The Benq GL2450H has HDMI and D-Sub, and has a response time of 5ms

The BenQ GL2460 has D-Sub and DVI-D, and has a response time of 2 ms

Acer K K242HLBD has D-Sub (VGA) and DVI only, and has a response time of 5ms

All three monitors have a max resolution of 1920x1080.

Usually, you would want a monitor/display with the lowest possible response time possible. In this case, your best bet would be the GL2460. I think now it comes down to personal preference.

For the cable, I believe you need one that's long enough to go from point A, to point B. You also need to make sure you're buying a cable that has two male connectors on each side.

Thanks for the feedback!

For the cable I guess I need a DVI-D to DVI-D, both male?

Oh and btw, I heard about the response time thing.

For what I've heard, the lower, the better, but anything below 7ms is fine.

What difference would make 5ms vs 2ms reponse times?

I just found this video, I hope it helps

Anyway, you would need a cable to connect one male end to the GPU and one male end to the monitor.

For what I've been reading and the video (which I watched before checking back your comment) it makes no difference in "the real world"

I think I might get the Acer (Cheapest) or the most Expensive Benq of the ones I listed!

I would appreciate more imput,

Thanks for the help Android! :)

Each monitor maker using a different method of measuring response time (ms), so buying a monitor just base on that isn't the best way to do so. Unless your planning to do Nvidia 3D surround then look for monitors with at least 120Hz. But for your everyday monitor with gaming, then get one with a IPS panel. These are much superior than TN panels, with wider viewing angles as well as no color shifts. For gaming they run pretty well too, response time will never be lower than TN, but comparing both, you really can't tell the difference. If you're on a budget, then just grab one of the 3 monitors you had picked.

Cheapest IPS I can find at 24"

http://www.pccomponentes.com/lg_24mp55hq_p__24__led_ips.html

or at 23" from Asus

Hey!!!!

Coming back here just to say thank you and show you my new baby!!! I chose the ASUS and it's perfect. Since the very first second I note deeper and more vivid colors, more definition and no tiredness in my eyes and head!!!

It may not look like it's big but believe me, it's huuuuuge!!! It's 23'', and aproximately is like 5x wide the xbox 360 controller.

Thanks again! Hope you like it!
