Can't join crew-only sessions

Over in another topic, the crew I'm in organizes and plays heists in private sessions. The person who hosts the sessions just recently switched from invite-only lobbies to crew-only lobbies, and now I can't join the session.

 

Yesterday, for the first crew-only session, I couldn't join but thought it was only temporary since I was having some internet issues. However, I was just playing with the host today and had no problems with joining him/him joining me. Moments after we finished fooling around in a public lobby, I failed to connect to the crew-only session moments afterward, just like yesterday, although I'm able to join his invite-only sessions with no complications. This tells me that the trouble lies with the session being in crew-only.

 

I've tried connecting via invites (from various people in the lobby) and using the join feature when viewing a player's profile, but it constantly tells me, "Player is no longer in session." I've also tried using the join crew members and join friends features, but those have not worked as I am either put in a lobby by myself or it fails to find a session. My active crew is the proper one.
