How often?

  1. 1. How often do you give random players a ride? And get killed by them as you approach them?

    • Pretty much every time I see a lone soul.

One of the most annoying things on GTA Online, you offer to give someone a ride, and as you go to pick them up, they kill you.

I wouldn't know, I've never tried it.

I have had people offer me rides and shoot at me because I didn't want one.

You can't complete the tutorial unless you get your OWN pv....I'm certain no one needs a ride. I will kill anyone that approaches me and honks their horn as if I'm some hooker on the street. Actually I kill anyone that comes near me at all so...your fault for being so trusting.

No good deed goes unpunished.

You can skip the tutorial.

OT: Try to pick up random players from the street?. Might aswell try to kiss a cobra.

There are cars everywhere, and real easy to just take one. Why would anybody need a ride?

To form an alliance against other players, bruh

Because:

Welcome to GTA, bro....

don't trust anyone

and it's shure fun.

You can send the person a message before approaching to be relatively certain the person is friendly....no need to just approach any dot expecting them to be docile...bruh.

Well it depends, sometimes most of them just kill me, but sometimes most of them are also cool open guys and I always try to make new friends in GTA Online for a better experience, well when someone means to kill me one more death doesn't really bother me.

Just as today, I started playing online and spawned at the LSI Airport and people were killing each other there, me as well, it escalated in a big freeroam deathmatch which was really fun.

Well, to have a little conclusion from my own experience, it does happen, but it doesn't happen all the time and I never miss the opportunity to make a new acquaintance. :)

Since I have a mic, I usually just ask the person if they want a lift. I don't think I've ever had anyone kill me after I've given them a lift. If it happens, I won't be surprised.

lol - no - never happened to me, never going to happen. If I'm in public FR at all, it's in a state of total hostility - saves time.

Is this The Guy?

I never pick anyone up. ANYONE. Neither should you. Never. Ever. EVER. Never

I have even offered people rides and never shown up.

On these evil streets you take the necessary precautions to survive.

There's a reason I keep my sticky bombs on stand by. I'm a friendly guy, but I don't blindly trust a random out of the blue. I see you aim at my car, I'm painting the woods/buildings with your blown-up body parts.

I was in a mission the other day and this guy had the document and I could tell that his bike was almost disabled, so I followed and was read to pick him up when his bike failed which it did, but before he got in he stuck a sticky in the bed of the rat loader, so I was resdy the second he bailed out on the road to martins I was ready and jumped out too. Sure enough bang went the truck. Why do this? I was helping him, there is no bonus for being the one to deliver the package.

Which is why there shouldn't be any bonus. People would do stuff like this all the time.

Grand Theft Amanda

I only give rides in missions.

In freemode it's stay away from me and you'll live longer.

Yes there is. The person who collects and delivers the package/objective gets 100 more rp. Since he already had the document, I'm certain his intent was to simply kill you (being a dick) and finish the mission solo or fork around until you decided to leave.

They don't have to accept your "free ride" offer, the game provides the posibility to kill you, and that is what they do, i find it annoying too, but i'm not pretending to tell everyone else how to play the game.

Plus, have you never killed somebody on GTAO?, shooting someone on the face is not the only way to do it, i like to leave rigged vehicles (ignition bomb) around the city. It's priceless when the little message pops up saying that my vehicle was destroyed and that i killed some poor bastard ha ha ha.

I drew a bus route around Downtown and Little Seoul and I occasionally drive around and pick people up. IIRC, my all-time record is nine passengers, the tenth sticky bombed us. :(

Seems that some people gotta learn the hard way in this game that ya can't trust NO ONE. This same logic applies to real life where you don't drive up to a random criminal and offer them a ride or they will have you walking home naked & without a car and if your lucky enough, your life.

Ms.AirSuperiority

I tried to land my Cuban 800 and give a ride to a player in the middle of nowhere (west beach, under the bridge).

He threw a sticky bomb at me, but missed.

Just pulled up the gear and flew away, if he doesn't want to ride I won't make him.

While it is annoying, I also know that this is GTA and that is a risk you face when you try to be nice. I don't take it personally, and I'm usually not a dick so I'll probably continue to offer flights to anybody who looks like they need one.

And annihilate anyone who shoots me down.
