Good sports gone?

It has come to my attention there are seemingly no more 'good sports' on GTA online anymore. I have been a good sport for quite a few weeks but it seems I keep joining lobbies where even though the dots are white they will attack me and/or kill me.

So does the good sport lobbies system really work or am I still being put in 'bad sports' lobbies?

So you think white dots don't kill people?

If you don't want to be killed don't play with random people.

The system is flawed and rd dots can revert to white very easily. R* needs to fix it so red dots stay red, so we can know who has a happy trigger finger online.

from what i can tell about 85% of the people i have came across regardless of the dot color in open lobbies are trigger happy. nope OP you are playing in good sport lobbies. if you were in a bad sport lobby you'd know it right away from the dunce caps everyone is wearing.

You're confused about what BAD Sport Lobbies are....THERE ARE NO GOOD SPORT lobbies. There is:

Invite only/crew/solo sessions-no one can possibly hurt you there unless you invite them.

Open Free Roam- You are warned many times that players can and will kill you (most people miss this point) Dot color has nothing to do with good sport or bad sport, it's a destruction meter...nothing more or less.

BAD SPORT- People placed here have caused so much chaos to others by blowing up large numbers of PV's that they are put with others like them...it's a punishment for being an asshat and actually gives everyone in the room a dunce cap that can't be removed until they are a good sport again.

Everyone in an open session is a good sport (more or less) regardless of dot color...if they weren't they would be in bad sport lobbies.

white dots are red dots that got reset!!!

believing the color of a blip would change the way people play the game is just stupid!

Killing players doesn't get you put into bad sport...red dotted players are just aggressive players who have done some damage recently...they're not "bad sports", they're just free with their weaponry.

Sussus Amongus

I met about six white dots in a lobby who we teamed up with to smash the reds (dern commies jk) so i think whites do have a way smaller chance of attacking you. Later I got the guys on my friends list and we did all kinds of other cool stuff.

i guess in the end you guys turned the guns on eachother as your dots turned red!

Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. Well...two of the guys started a war that dragged the third guy into it aswell so almost. I got off pink and the other two who didn't join the war started doing races.

It doesn't? Why does the GTA Online wiki state otherwise then?

Its GTA

Stands for Grand Theft Auto, not kill everyone you see.

True.

However for a game called Grand Theft Auto, there is an awful lot of restriction surrounding stealing vehicles and either keeping them or selling them to a chop shop. For Online the name of the game is more or less a misnomer.

On Topic: I am able to get a fully Red Dot and then 5 mins later have a completely White Dot again. Instead of excessive glitches this Update R* seems to have broken the Mental State and PV Insurance systems instead.

I have been trying to reason the behavior of GTA Online players.

A couple of questions arise:

1) Why do players kill other players?

2) Why do they follow you around (and even worse, bring their friends with them) and try to kill/harass you? What do they even gain out of that?

3) Why do they cheat/exploit?

- probably because they are lazy and impatient (characteristics of a child or dumb/unfair person)

4) Why do they smash their car into objects and why do they look like they don't have a clue of how brakes/torque/physics work?

- they probably don't even have a driver's license in reality.. and their lack of physics awareness would unveil their ignorance/age

They must be either:

- psychopaths

- frustrated people who want to take out their life's frustrations on random people

- (stupid) kids (who aren't even allowed to play the game in the first place, but thanks to irresponsible parents you get this!)

- very dumb people of ages 20-25

After all, a psychopath is defined as: 'an individual who does not care of the well-being of others'.

What kind of intelligent, non-frustrated civil person such as myself would voluntarily approach a random person and try to ruin his gameplay? I sure wouldn't.

Have you noticed your typical clown in GTA Online? Yes, that guy who drives around in a Zentorno (or other sports car) and has that stupid, overused clown horn on it? It is simply despicable and tasteless.

I like to enjoy GTA Online being a good citizen: walking around the sidewalk peacefully and watch others (just like an NPC), enjoying the view slowly.. instead of racing through the streets like some maniac, crashing into everything. The latter behavior belongs to the dumb people among us. In fact, I have a sample of this because my younger cousin shows this behavior. Little did you know, he is dumb as well - so there you have it!

That whole Youtube scandal about the vile comments has brought forth a few psychologists sharing their findings which are most rational: the root cause is anonymity; it brings to life indecency. People know most others won't be able to track who they are, so they are free to - like a Youtube user once said - 'treat the online commenting system as their own personal trash container' and it's true.

Aside from that there is also the common known fact most people nowadays are frustrated because of the way they shape their reality. The Industrial Revolution and our great philosophers DesCartes, Leibniz and Newton have produced some ground-breaking thinking, but they also at the same time let most of us lose control over their own lives and start believing in popular ideologies. When our dreams aren't met - we become frustrated. This reminds me of Fight Club's Tyler Durden quote: "We were all raised to think we would be rockstars and movie gods - but we won't - and we're slowly learning that fact".

In conclusion, I think the majority of GTA Online players are psychopaths.

Im always a white dot and never shoot other players first. But man I get killed on sight by everyone no matter their colour.

This is my complaint exactly. It's nice to know you are a peaceful player.

I tend to get killed more often by white dots/ low ranks/ low kdrs than the opposite. higher levels often tend to be more friendly too

they take an advantage by spectating ( this also oversee of player's activity , especially if they identify ur K/D , Lv , stats , crew and mental . for example : K/D 9.45 , Lv 225 , all stats maxed , IGN & completely unstable )

Ah, nice. I could use this spectating technique.

I'm one of those rare white dots that actually don't attack first. I even try to give a friendly honk and 95% of the time I'm wasted.

But seriously, there are no good sport lobbies and don't trust whet dots either. Most of the time they think they can get easy kills because they "appear" to be friendly but really not.

I swear this game is the reason I have trust issues >.>

Why do people keep thinking the name of the game somehow defines how your supposed to play it? Also, grand theft auto is the legal term for stealing a car, which for the most part you can't do ... where's your logic now?

I agree with your first point, doesn't matter what the game is called. GTA was never Just about stealing cars.

But, for the most part, yes you CAN steal cars. You can actually steal any car in the game you know ;)

When my blip is white, I use it as an opportunity to make people think I'm not going to suicide-bomb them the second I get to them.

I meant to keep or sell, that's what grand theft auto means, and the criminal offence it refers to. What we have is what's called a "joyride". Anyways, it's just semantics and the whole point was to illustrate how pointless it is to use it as an argument. Edited by D3ViOU5

Agreed. It's a sandbox game, not a _____ simulator.

In terms of lobbies, as was pointed out above, there are two kinds of lobbies: (1) Bad sport lobbies full of assholes, and (2) regular public lobbies full of assholes. :p

My recent experience is trending a bit different. It seems like a slightly higher percentage of the few people still playing GTA0 actually have places to go and things to do, and to my great surprise, sometimes they whiz by me without doing a drive-by, or without going blocks or miles out of their way to sticky-bomb me. I have to emphasize, that's just -slightly- better than the early days :)

make sure prior exiting ur '' throne '' , hear sound of jet first ! as those flies may use jet whatever they wanted to but they're useless at ground so '' grounding '' them with either sniper or minigun ( requiring smooth connection . if ur connection just fine then maybe at least 1 person who was lagging )

but they might grab an '' armor '' with a '' cannon '' to protect their K/D
