Idea to Remove 45 Minute Timer for Selling Vehicles

So, in addition to cooking meth, I like to steal cars and sell them to LSC and I'm sure many others do as well. I hate having to wait 45 minutes between selling vehicles and I believe that there should be a different system in place. Here is my idea...

1. All cars in the game should have the ability to be sold.

2. There would remain the standard LSC for vehicles valued at $125,000 and under (or some other nominal value that would make the idea work). No cars with a base price above this value will be allowed to enter this shop. Players would receive 10% of the car's value, taking into account damage.

3. There would be a high end shop or two introduced to the map to sell cars for vehicles above the price range listed above. Selling vehicles at this shop would be tracked somehow (to spot glitchers/importers of vehicles, etc.) so the system isn't abused. Maybe even limit sales of vehicles here to one per every in game day.

4. There would be a new wanted level system, resetting every night at midnight. For your first sold car, no effect. For the 2nd sold car sold in one game day you have a 25% chance of receiving a 2 star wanted level as you exit LSC. For the 3rd car, 50% at 2 stars, 4th car, 50% at 3 stars, 5th car and above would be 50% at 4 stars.

5. Lester's "Remove wanted level" feature would have a cool down timer of 7.5 minutes or 4 in game hours between uses.

I don't think this would be too difficult to implement into the game and I feel that it would be something more for players to do that would remain fun for long periods of time and would be a good alternative to missions. Let me know what you think and if something would need to be changed.

The reality of the situation is Rockstar doesn't want this to happen. Their bottomline is shark card sales, it would be too easy.

However, there would be an alternative (which would fit Rockstar's agenda)

1. Keep the 45 minute wait, but only allow you to sell 4 vehicles in that class without waiting.

2. Remove the timer, but Supers still have the timer

3. Remove the timer for Personal Vehicles only excluding Adders and Zentornos.

Shark Cards ruined this game. A game that had so much potential... ruined by pure GREED (as if they wouldn't have made enough money from just selling the game itself)

Maybe if they just let us sell one car every 45 mins at each of the LSCs around the map. I'd be ok with that.

i approve this idea

I don't believe the timer is in place because of shark cards. Everyone that has mentioned shark cards is paranoid as f*ck and seems to think that Rockstars only agenda is to push them onto us and make it impossible for us to make money in game and that is simply not true if you face the facts. Look at the missions and how much money you can get from them. I can easily make $60K in 45 mins by playing missions. Now take one of the better selling and common vehicles, the Baller. It can be sold for $9000. You would have to find the vehicle and sell it 7 times in 45 minutes to get $63,000 and that is assuming no damage to the vehicle. With the system I proposed, it would be difficult to do this effectively. Players would be trying to outrun the police for much of the time. So the timer shouldn't have an effect on shark card sales at all. Mind you that there would still be a timer on the higher end cars.

The timer is tracked separately between two characters

I'm not going to waste time switching between characters to make a few thousand dollars every 45 mins. My idea was to add fun and enjoyment to the game, not for the sole intent of making more money. I've got over 3 million right now, so I'm not short on funds by any means. Missions are easy enough and pay out very well in my opinion.

yes they are forcing us to buy their cash cards to make more money.

you do not have to buy cards unless you want, so it is our own choice to make. also is it not the overall goal of ANY company to make as much of a profit as possible?

really though OP, no it is just fine the way it is and they should not remove or change the time for selling vehicles. to me they are just trying to keep people from making too much money too fast and too easily. they have created a game with lots of things to do and want to make use of that time and effort they put into it. so go do something else during that time. why would you want to play a game just to sit around and sell cars as fast as you can? and guess what, R* already watches that stuff somewhat and people still take advantage and exploit the system we already have, so why make it even easier to allow those people to exploit the game?

They aren't forcing us to buy cards to make money. I have earned over $4 million so far and haven't been playing that long. I haven't and won't purchase shark cards.

And like I've already said before, look at the mission payouts and my proposed scenario above. To me it would be more difficult to locate and steal and then sell 7 cars in 45 mins with a wanted level on many of them rather than play 4 missions without a wanted level and earn as much or more in the same time frame. If they wanted to limit money making, they would nerf mission payouts. Car sales don't net much and you are either playing missions and earning money or selling cars and earning money. It's not like both can be done at the same time and my idea is meant to be an alternative/supplement to missions and the numerous other activities.

I did think about that but forgot to address it and I'm not sure of a good way to approach it. The car selling would have to be on it's own system so that feature is not applicable. Or just get rid of that feature. I've never used it anyway and don't like it.

Well typically when you pull out of LSC a few cars spawn in the parking lot and its not like the road is that far. So you could continually sell low level cars fairly quickly if the timer is removed, raising the bar to 125,000 dollar cars instead of 90,000 also makes finding a good steal much easier. With the timer gone you don't even need to look for something extra valuable just steal the nearest car if your in the city it'll be probably worth at least 3,000 the average may be higher

I could probably sell three cars in five minutes of the timer restriction was removed.

Your wanted level idea is entirely pointless because going INTO a LSC can be used to evade a wanted level and its not like getting killed by the cops is some huge drawback.

But as soon as you leave LSC there would be a 50% chance after a while of the cops being there to bust you/kill you. It would be more of an immediate thing where the cops were already there. Sorta like they know someone in the area has been boosting cars and now they have tracked them down to LSC, which would be the reason why they are already in the area. And as far as being killed/busted, maybe a $10,000 fine would be applied each time you were caught/killed.

Since the new update, I can't sell cars in the 90,000 range anymore. Though I can still sell the increasingly rare gang cars. Thanks R*!

Why can't you? I'm still selling Ballers, Felons, and Felon GT's all the time. Working properly for me.

no i see your point and me saying "selling vehicles as fast as you can" is a bit much, but i can not see it being a little extra thing with a good bit of recoding or whatever they do for an occasional fun thing to do. also, i guess i don't understand what "sole" means because i thought the "sole" purpose of selling a vehicle is to make money is it not?

I certainly like the idea of making a living from selling cars in free roam as an alternative to missions. For a game called Grand Theft Auto there's not a whole lot of auto thefting going on.

95% of the time you're getting into a car you own yourself, and when you do steal an NPC car you often get a bounty which can be off putting.

It'd be good to get back to feeling like a car thief again, being allowed to sell one mediocre car a day doesn't give me that feeling.

The word your looking for is 'thieving'. Sorry, me just being pedantic.

But I agree.

Perhaps the time restriction is removed but a cool down period of say 5 hours (in game time) is implemented before you can sell the that particular LSC again but others you haven't used are available.

Also, it would be good if there was more options in the actual theft of a car instead of just breaking the window or pulling someone out of car. Idk, a mini-game maybe if you opt to pick the lock or the possibility of by-standers coming to assist the driver if you attempt to hi-jack a ride. Just a thought.

Maybe if they just let us sell one car every 45 mins at each of the LSCs around the map. I'd be ok with that.

Constructive Post of the Day, Month or Year?

This is really the best solution as it still requires you to call your Mechanic to collect a new Vehicle and drive to another LSC or actually find a new Vehicle and then drive to another LSC but actually makes selling cars and being in free-roam more worthwhile.

I would like to see the ability to sell revamped

Since there 4 LSC's around the map maybe give us the ability to sell only one class of car to each of the LSC's One Coupe, One Sedan, One Muscle, One Off Road

This would give us the ability to move 4 cars in the 45 minute period,

If a car has a tracker on it make that car count as all 4 (keeping it the as it it is now) but give us the option to not have a tracker installed if we decide to steal and store cars
