GTA V Next Gen coming 18th November - PC in 2015.

One thing has me wondering. What about the new cars that are current gen only? Surely you can't use them in your last gen garage...

So the character would have to be a duplicate (that are separate) or you simply can only use them on one platform, one generation.

The only stupidity is those who doubt that money, cars, weapons, etc. will transfer over. Rockstar did not say "money and level" will transfer, they said "progress" would transfer. Everything you have since you started is part of your progress.

 

Its Rockstar we're talking about. The same company that said heists are merely a month or so away when GTAO was released.

 

You're the one making an assumption which you dont have more to base on than anyone thinking its just level being transferred, "progress" might just mean level and nothing else. We cannot take anything for certain hence me asking if anyone knows more. You obviously dont.

 

 

I'm confident that everything will transfer. Your analogy is terrible...one thing has nothing to do with the other. I never claimed not to be making an assumption, but I'm not "the one", as you are ALSO making assumptions by deciding that transfer only means money and rank based on what has been said.

I havent decided anything, I don't know and that is why I asked the question. I just dont agree with your certainty.

IIRC R☆ said all previous DLC will be available on ps4/xb1 so you could likely just buy the Roosevelt again. With that said, I don't think money, cars, and properties are going to transfer because of that free garage thing.

I think I read earlier in this thread (or maybe another) that transferred accounts would be based off of your social club, so I would think, no if all your accounts share the same social club ID.

What I'm hoping will happen...

$GTA will transfer (although I've let my cash dwindle to between 1 - 2 mill, thinking it won't happen)

Vehicles will transfer (millions of $GTA tied up in vehicles)

All previous DLC content will be available (Valentines, Collector's, etc - hoping there's no "specials" with the cost of the initial console / game & previous ones)

Map will be extended (be it Yankton or something similar)

 

You can read into what we've had from R* in a few ways I guess.

If you're the optimist, you'll read it as everything is going to transfer, you'll have the exact same game, same money (+ 1/2 mil on-line), same vehicles (with more available) just different platform that gives a better look & feel to the game.

If you're the pesimist, you'll probably think you're going to get your character & the clothes off your back. You'll no doubt think you'll virtually be starting the game over with only $GTA500k (assuming you pre-ordered).

 

I'm sort-of middle of the road... While I think limited things are going to transfer over, I am hopeful that everything will transfer, we'll get a third garage, we'll get the DLC cars / guns / stuff that some of us missed out on originally.

 

Expect the worst, hope for the best. Anything we get over & above "bare minimum" will be gratefully accepted...!

I really can't see how everything wouldn't transfer. I mean, what would prevent Rockstar from even doing this? Or why would they even want to do this? It doesn't make a lick of sense. I believe everything will transfer. I'll bet $20 on it, I've been in the betting mood today.

I think because posts like those tend to derail a thread. Someone always has to have the last word. We're all guilty of it, yes. And so, I guess it matters more when it occurs in a pinned or notable topic.

Hope we can enter lots more buildings and there are cool new spots on the map or extra big map. I'm one of the people that enjoy just cruing around exploring the awesome map, the other day, me and my two boys were playing around in a new area we've never seen before, it had little kayaks and stuff there on a small river. Cant wait to see all the new extra detail in the ps4, I hope they go crazy and add a lot more detail and enterable areas into the new platforms.

How do you know this? A source? When I preordered the PS3 version I didnt get the option of a version till about 3 weeks out from release.

Those games are completely different and as someone said before, if you have a next gen exclusive on your X1 and try to go back to PS3 it won't work. It's probably gonna be a 1 time thing, transfer your progress and you can't go back.

The extra garage is simply another little incentive for people to upgrade to the current gen consoles and for people who might not have a second garage yet.

Doubt it. I would guess at this point most if not all the players who would buy the game again on PS4/XB1 likely have 2 full garages and millions in the bank. Until i see 100% proof otherwise, i'm sticking with my hunch that cars, property and money won't transfer.

So to stop this from happening they give you a free garage stocked with the new exclusive cars.
