50GB from around 17-18GB! Thats over triple the size. Speculation hype incoming. . . There must be significant content in that case

 

I believe that if this is indeed true, it will be the biggest PS4 game to date in terms of file size.

 

BF4 is bigger, if you add all the expansions released.

Yeah, if you add all of the expansions. The game by itself is nowhere near 50 GB tho.

Oh yeah.. We're talking about much higher res textures than the ones found on LG, and if you consider the size of GTA Vs map that adds up.

 

Not to mention all of the new content that is being introduced, the new animals, radio songs, all that jazz.

Yup that's the case! I have been looking for it on the US Store but I can't find it. Seems like it's only available on EU/UK PSN Stores at the moment.

If all 3 versions would come at the same time, there would be massive crazy hype right now, and console version would enjoy the PC community hype but noooo lets keep a lot of fans who didn't play yet pissed during the 18.nov that will work! or not? I don't think so. lets wait patiently and see.

About the motion controls: didn't the PS3 version have Sixaxis motion support? If so, then I'm not that surprised about there being support with wireless controllers for the PS4 version, but the PS Move bit is new to me. And it looks like I'll have to move a good chunk of my Steam library from my SSD to my HDD to make room for when V comes out, if the PS4 minimum hard drive space is anything to go by.

On disc maybe, but on PS store its 46.9 GB, with a minimum save size of 48 GB

 

So if the PS Store is telling us that the minimim save size of GTA V is 50 GB, perhaps we could expect the disc version to be even bigger?

What I find mad is Last Of Us only made it upto 43-48GB in size because it had 1080p rendered cutscenes in the game all throughout which they reused from the ps3 version as they were already in a high enough quality before being scaled down for PS3.

Last Of Us has about what 90mins worth of 1080p cutscenes that would be a huge chunk of the 43GB I reckon heck a 2hr movie on bluray is something around 35-40 gb.

 

GTAV does not do anything like that all the cutscenes are in game so to have a file size of around 50GB for a remaster is just jaw droping I cannot wait to get my hands on it

 

Watchdogs is around 22GB the only thing on PS4 right now thats compareable.

 

Tomb Raider PS4 was 18GB that used ingame cutscenes and its a similer game setup to the Last Of Us as in it is a straight path through the game.

I think without those cutscenes Last Of Us would have ended up around that size 18-20GB

 

It will be interesting to see what size Sleeping Dogs ends up at in file size

Well generally developers don't compress the data that much on blurays because it has so much storage.

It seems that you forgot about TV commercials Moreover, we will have many more songs on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

I wouldn't get hyped up about the extra GB's being indicative of new content. GTA IV is double the size on PC compared to console, it contained no new content. Most of the file size increase simply comes from Rockstar being able to relax when it comes to compression combined with higher-res textures & video in the first place.

Confirmed reports on Twitter that update 1.17 is live! No idea what is new yet though sorry. I think today is DLC / news day
