Achieving top speed

Anyone know of a good place to 'test the limits' of my cars?

My top speed is with a Turismo (150.26) and I don't even own one. I want it to be my Monroe or Infernus.

Pain in the ass to get the required car, though. Seems a little like cheating to me anyway.

The top speed you'll ever reach in multiplayer without slipstreaming in races is about 160.

I went from the police station by Murrieta Heights and hauled ass all the way to the curve at the port. Got 156 in my Akuma, and I wrecked once along the way. That or just use the east highway to Blaine County. There's very likely better spots, but I myself am not sure of any.

Airport runways or the highway are your best bet, don't try it in SP cause the top speed is a lot higher than online

This isn't what you want to hear but..

I achieved my top speed(s) in front of a gate (128,000 mph in a packer, and 2,500 mph in a rhino)

However, my highest top speed before that (153 mph) was achieved on the eastern hwy from the prison to LS

This... It has been proven. That stat is just bullsh*t.

My fastest is 170mph+ in an Alpha with no glitching.

My fastest is 195mph in a Jester.

(To be fair, I hit the speed in one I brought over online before the patch dropped.)

my fastest is 223mph with a Zentorno.

no gate glitch or whatever.

how this happened? i dont know.

i dont do races so cant blame slipstream/catchup for this.

Nah, he's not lying. I have a similar top speed as a result of being bumped from behind when already traveling my top speed. Remember that 120mph is not a hard cap, as is evidenced by the gate glitchers. You don't need to glitch to beat the soft cap, but it doesn't hurt to get a little "boost" from somewhere, whether it be a buddy or one of the robo-cops who can catch you from behind no matter how fast you're going.

Edit: Also seem to remember there being a trick using mountains back in the day, but not sure whether it still works. Something like if you're already traveling top speed and then go off of a mountainside, you'll continue to increase in speed while you're falling until you hit terminal velocity or the ground, whichever comes first.

A 100+ MPH boost? Are you serious?

I never said he was lying, I said the Social Club is lying. It multiplies your speed by 1.75, so the way to know your actual speed is to divide what ever the Social Club says by 1.75.

I haven't heard anything about any tricks that make you go faster but I'm sure they exist, the cars themselves are configured to a certain speed though.

Where did you get this 1.75 figure from? Not saying you're wrong; just curious.

OMG the guy on the video doesn't know how to drive, he sucks
