That would be MW. Robbing wasn't a network feature. Never left the concept phase.

Bingo. Network was a bloat of memory usage. Never had enough memory to toy with dynamic things like robbing a location* in network mode. The sync code was already bad enough at the time.

Maybe it would’ve just been for another game mode like “rob as many places as you can by standing in the circle and whoever robs the most wins” or something. There’s an insane amount of sh*t that’s unused in IVs files as far as audio goes it’s maddening

I think this mission might have been from an earlier version of Final Interview. The GTA Wiki said that this mission was formerly known as Small Fish in a Big Pond and Niko was to simply storm the building without a cover and kill Goldberg.

Perhaps this screenshot was from that mission where Goldberg would escape the Office via another exit and escape in a convoy. The cutscene for Final Interview, Francis mentions that Goldberg is hard to get to with a Bodyguard and Limo.

I swear Rockstar had like a hundred different ideas for this mission regarding all the beta stuff we've found about the mission lol

I feel like that's a screenshot they made up just to look cool like this and this, possibly among others.

 

Speaking of going through screenshots on their official site, I found these old gems and the first thing I notice is some crazy redish sky in the first one and the almost angelic hue in the second.

These are just post effects.

those are the wrong scripts.

 

in the data b depot the script img files without the "_rel" were the debug scripts for TLAD.

i think the fight club was originally meant to be in TLAD, IIRC theres a few strings in american.gxt that reference one. obviously being labelled e2 proves it was held off until TBOGT.

Found this nice vid showing it off.

Those strings are just for this prototype.

And the prototypes are both for stuff that was tested for TBOGT.

 

So my guess is while TBOGT was still in heavy development, they wrote a few prototype scripts and then tested them in TLAD.

(Bc that was way closer to completion)

I mean the lost baggage script is the prototype of the beta version of the final mission in TBOGT

You remember that placeholder description in the TBOGT files that says that bulgarin would flee in a range rover sport, with bodyguards driving behind and you have to follow him?

 

Well...the checkpoint is at the airport and it will then spawn a multible huntley's (with one being marked as the enemy)

 

The script is very unfinished.

Bc killing the enemy will not do anything.

 

And the enemy will drive a path and then get out of the car and into a boat.

And then he will just drive randomly around in it.

 

Btw, cool thing is, the planes are in that prototype scripted.

Like one of the bodyguards will drive into 1 of them and will explode.

Yeah, had a play around with it. Noticed there seems to be a mission listed with all the other missions which was cut, doesn't load or anything. Its titled "I Want One of Those"
