I think everyone in that artwork is a pedestrian in the game. Guy in the robe looks like Stubbs.

TBoGT Faggio's light texture and details are called "calabrone". A calabrone is Italian for "hornet" which has a latin name of "Vespa crabro" (and the bike is based on a scooter called Vespa in case somebody doesn't know), so it's safe to say it used to be named Calabrone? It used to have a badge which is a hornet, too.

The mirrors on it would have been removable, too, but someone messed up (or was it intentional?) when naming the extra and called it "extra1" --as opposed to the correct "extra_1"-- so it acts like a permanent part. This misnaming has carried over to GTA V as well. It's like the Casco's inidcator all over again :turn:


Also, for what it's worth, the lights texture for Sabre is named "carlito" so maybe that could have been its original name considering the Sabre looks nothing like the Sabre GT.

 

 

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot, since it's about Faggio's beta name, is there any source for the name "Faggio Ultra" other than some BS written by someone on the GTA Wiki in 2010?

Well spotted! And it looks like a NRG-900 body with a different front end, judging by the metal structure-like thing in the sides. Here's how it looks with no front-end at all:

Weird. I don't think it's a removed bike, Rockstar can't even remove all leftovers from 2 years ago, I doubt they did it with something that was removed in a month. Maybe another look for the RR?

@Darealbandicoot No, that was the HDD with the other game builds, from someone else (from what I heard Need For Speed The Run source, Battlefield and some Uncharted stuff was on there) That didn't come from a devkit. It also wasn't PS3 as I thought it would be, but 360. I do not know where that guy currently is, and I doubt he's even still around. It probaly was a review build anyway so it's not that unfortunate. Still probaly would have contained tons of leftovers though.

 

By the way, there's a GTA EFLC build floating around the net for years. The executable for that was publicly released but no actual game build. Someone, somewhere has it now. I spoke to 2 people who originally had the disc (because this came from a disc) and they both sold it. Just found something out as I was plowing through the files. There may be a possibility this has been posted before but still. here we go!

 

In the early build of GTA IV the interior was visible from the outside instead of a VERY low poly model as shown in the final game.

The early building can be seen in the paintings hanging in the restaurant. It clearly shows a more transparant glass texture and it's interior including a door which appears to be open.

In the final game the interior is only seen during a mission.

I've tried to restore it once, but didn't get much far. I think the most I managed to do was new collision for the interior.

I have tried and even failed to place door door -_- But I got the interior. Sadly the windows are way to dark so it'll be useless after all. Though it's cool to see some sort of working restaurant interior.

 

Beta mod text thingy, just click and you'll see. No it has nothing to do with the restaurant. Just a car

 

Working on many Beta restoring stuff, just finished the beta Cavalcade with it's mini rims, chrome trimming or stuff at the windows and removed the ornament from the hood. All working on all LODs and there are many more vehicles on the list to finish. Including a building, this restaurant.

I think the police station is a cutscene thing whilst the cluckin' bell isn't, so not as easy I THINK

actually, the entrance hall of the police station interior is perfecly placed like a enterable interior.

Yeah so the police station does have an mlo, it is an actual interior, though i think only for cut scenes, like the restaurant it seems to be disabled by script though I haven't had a proper look into it.

So the interesting thing is that the mlo of the italian restaurant is placed already so we just need to find a way to enable it, the strange thing is that lod level 2 is actually enabled.

Well there are two lods, the actual lod and the 'lod' you see from the outside. The one from the outside will just be disabled. So there is a lod that is an actual lod and a lod thats the fake interior.

They do look the same though, doors can be put back very easily
