You know what...... i just looked, it's been a while, and you are totally right. Not sure why i always thought it was more subaru than Toyota, probably just cuse i like em more in real life

I was thinking the RS was subaru in IV too. All day. I know better now especially now that I realize the Is200 came in a 2 door variant overseas.

Funny I don't see many sultans decked out like I would see an Is200 in reality. So it's a car of paradox to me. Still I own one... And mine is looking quite a bit like a subaru too... I should ditch the car, and get he stratum. I will too. I don't even drive my Sultan.

It's a mix between a Lancer Evolution 4 to 6 (rear) and a WRX (front) with bug eyes.

The two hood options you get, are also matches for those cars.

The spoiler options also match (except for the last one, which is a bit rice).

Both cars are 4WD turbo sports cars. Subaru use the "RS" designation for their rally spec models (lighter weight, shorter gear ratios).

The Altezza/IS200 is a rear wheel drive sedan, with less power, and is the Asterope in game.

I can see the similarity in the headlamps, but I sincerely do not think they were inspired by the IS200.

Stratum - I always thought that was based on the Nissan Stagea (4WD with same engine options as Skyline) but I can see the front of the Stratum really does look R32 Skyline. I wouldn't call it "GT-R" though, don't think the wagon's ever came with an RB26DETT (although have seen RB25DET)

I love my Sultan's. I've had many chances to get the Stratum but never get it.

I want a stratum but can't part ways with my current collection to make room for it. Sultan is my usual driver as of late. It gets blown up or swamped. It cost $150 bucks in insurance.

Fast enough to get where I want quickly, AWD let's it rip up and over all terrains. It will haul four.

Best all around vehicle IMHO.

The Sultan is a must have. It's useful in every situation and it's the best overall 4-door vehicle in the game in terms of performance. The Stratum is more of just a cool-ass vehicle.

Yeah I said the headlights matched (which is the only definitive feature I identify there), I still wouldn't be calling it an IS200.

Get an Asterope - it's a sedan class car, looks (especially from the rear) like an IS200/Altezza, very well balanced and extremely easy to control in a drift - and it is rear wheel drive - that is a much better fit for that than a 4WD Turbo Sports car. I can't post up photos right now to show what I mean.

Look at the cars lines and windows. And don't let it confuse you the tail lights except for the indicators closer to the license plate are close the the is200's in shape too.

As far as engine noises I don't pay that close attention with my radio blaring. But the car is dead ringer for the IS. Although I wish it had more in common with Subie.

Yes. Serious about the Pigalle, and Stratum. They are the road less traveled.

We need a Stratum that's a 2 door coupe and not a wagon, like I said earlier. Which is why I prefer the Sultan. Plus the Sultan has better speed and acceleration.

Why a 2 door? It's cool because it's a wagon (pussywagon)

Because it seems odd that a Skyline is a wagon. I feel like it could've been a 2 door.

Well, it was, but not called a Skyline.

Here is a picture of one

I highly suggest getting a Stratum.

As a proud owner of a lovely house on Propico Drive, Pleto Bay I need one more car for my lovely garage to filler her up with cars that I think feel like they being in Paleto bay so i ask YOU, Stratum or Sultan

btw I'll Take looks and feel over performance

Well, I would suggest you get the Stratum, although you cannot get everything on it in the game legit. I suggest you get the version with the spoiler, no sunroof, and sport exhaust. But in the end, it is your choice. But if you want another suggestion, get both.

You do know that the First Gen Altezza could be equipped with the 2JZ-GE engine from the Toyota Supra and Toyota Soarer, which was a TT I6 and 3 liter displacement, very similar to the Sultan's in-game 3.3 liter engine.

Also similar is the AWD system, which was an option on the higher end Altezza.

Just saying.

That dude wanted the Sultan to be a subie soo bad!! Which if that's what he wants it to be, that is what it is to him. But he is blind.

None of the cars in this game are IRL cars. They do have similarities to real cars, but are not those actual cars. They have brands and names of their own.

The Karin Sultan is a Karin Sultan. Feel free to pretend it is a Volkswagen Karmann Ghia if that's what you want to pretend.

And that's perfectly fine.

I still consider the Astrope to be a 4th/5th gen Subaru Legacy, even though it clearly isn't.

The problem comes where there is much evidence that one car has more than a few things in common with an irl vehicle, and people don't understand.

Mostly its just me and others being gear heads.

Everycar in the in game is INSPIRED by a real life auto model. It's been that way since GTA 1. SO you could pretend the Beast GTS is a miata... But you're bein' an ass doing that LOL!

No cars in any game are REAL cars. They are pixels. But the way the pixels are arranged for the GTA cars, compared to say Saints Row cars is night and day, and the reason why I compare the looks of the cars, and performance of some autos to their dopplegangers in reality

The 3.3L boxer engine in Subaru's SVX is probably a closer match to that - but I think the engine capacity is just made up anyway :)

I've never seen a 3L Altezza, but have always wanted a twin turbo Aristo (2jZ-GTE) as a cruiser.

I can't deny your points about styling, it is more than just headlamps.

However put on the traditional Subaru hood and tada - WRX. To me (I see WRX, EVO's and Altezza's usually once a day) the Sultan just smells of 4WD Rally Thoroughbred and the IS200 just really doesn't fit that profile at all - I don't think I've seen a 4WD version here used for motorsport, usually the RWD version is preferred.

Edit: Oh and I want to add, just a friendly discussion, not intended to be an "I am right" type deal :) I like cars.

I hear you loud and clear :)

Its a mixture of parts from many JDI and Export performance sedans, ( Toyota 2JZ or Subaru EX engines, Subaru, Saab 9-2X, Lancer EVO V, VII) and that's the fun of GTA, they that cues from many different irl cars and roll them into one awesome (or terrible) vehicle.

*To add, the AWD Lexus IS's were IS300's and had a 3L I6, but they are pretty uncommon outside of Japan; price being the main reason.

Also there was a V12 powered Volkswagen Phaeton being sold near me for around 10k, not sure if anyone brought it or not.

Hey! I resent that!

I really miss my old Legacy wagon, if I could get another one, I would.

But now I'm looking to get Dodge Magnum or BMW Estate (E36, E46).
