How much would you pay for a hovercraft?

What is the absolute maximum you'd be willing to pay for that? Personally, I'd go as high as 800K.

Dozens. Easilly over 9,000 :p

No, seriously, I'd pay whatever they charged unless it was stupid, like $20 million or something ridiculously high like that. I wouldn't flinch at paying a million for a personal hovercraft.

I see Giantsgiants already has three of them.

The most I would go up to is $700K for your typical hovercraft....if it was super sleak like the closed cockpit pic posted earlier, then I would probably go up to 1.2M.

Imagine Rockstar added a land/water hovercraft vehicle to the game. It would be a Pegasus vehicle (off-road class):

-top speed of The Liberator (6/10)

-slightly lower acceleration (9/10, like the Voltic)

-pretty bad brakes (1-1.5/10)

-good traction (8-9/10) and turning

-would seat 2-4 players

-decent damage resistance

-can go between land, water, and off-road terrains

-non customizable

What is the absolute maximum you'd be willing to pay for that? Personally, I'd go as high as 800K.

Something like that would be on Pegasus.

And if it could travel on land, water and off road and is hover, which is pretty advanced, realistically it would be over $1.800.000

I mean if they make ingame helicopters, planes and tanks over $1.000.000+ which can only travel in either land or air only, they will charge a something advanced like a hover craft over land, sea and off road, like $1.800.000 or even $2.000.000

They try to push something like that, towards cash cards or heavy grinding to buy something that advanced and new.

seriously though it would be a really cool addition if you ask me.

considering what they're charging for, essentially, re skinned cars

I'd pay up a lot for a hovercraft as it would actually offer something new

not just the amphibian qualities, if done right just the hovering on land could be really cool

Well, the question is what's the max YOU'd be willing to pay. There must be a threshold where one goes "screw it, that's too expensive and not worth it."

Ok, the max I'd pay for it would be 800k but if it's over 1M then that'll be a bit too much just like the dump truck(It's useless, expensive and not worth it)

Yeah, that was probably my most regretful purchase decision in GTA:O. If I could even get 1/4th refund for it, I'd be happy.

I would pay $10,000 for the hovercraft and $500,000 for the paint job and performance upgrades :p

You call that a hovercraft?

I want this

I would pay 2 mill if it had some turrets on the side for your friends

Hovercraft - stunningly horrible combination of the worst elements of driving and boating.

A hovercraft does one thing better than a car or boat - it transitions between land/sea surfaces. Other than that, it's worse than either in every way - speed, agility, braking, acceleration. Don't even think about sticking to a particular course, unless that course is "a straight line until the first turn, then random directions".

Bluntly, there is already exactly f*ck-all to do on the water in Los Santos, so all you'd have with a hovercraft is a really crappy car that you will rarely if ever also use as a really crappy boat.

The only possible use is to escape from cops by scooting across rivers, and these GTA V cops are far more aggressive than they were back in CJ's day - these days, I doubt you'd get the old Vortex anywhere near the water before the cops smashed you into next week.

I would probably pay up to a mil for one. All depends on its size and capabilities. One of those big military badasses would be cool but unlikely, at least in my mind. I would prefer an amphibious vehicle.

Schwimmwagen anyone...

I would buy it if they removed protective mesh off the fans. I would like to reverse kill people.

Price wise - I'd buy it immediately at 200K, 500K-1.5M I might at a later point.

In GTA San Andreas the hoovercraft could float for a little bit after hitting a ramp or something. I thought it was fun hitting a wave or something and then trying to float my way across. If that's the case, i'll throw all my money towards R*.

Jackie Chan wore a rubber shoe sleeve over his cast because of that scene from Rumble in the Bronx! I loved that movie back in the day

That would cost quite a bit more than a mere two million.

In the game it would surely be at least twenty.

Meh, I didn't give two f*cks about the Splitz-6 ATV or the Vortex in the old GTAs, I probally wouldn't care for it in Online either.
So I think 100k is more than enough, even though people are willing to drop 1M for it.

Now if it comes with some .50 cannons, then we can talk :)

A sh*t load.

Things like this are what I would prefer to see in GTA to be honest... Hovercrafts, Skimmers (Plane from Vice City), Sea- Sparrows, the Skylift & other utility vehicles which open up the floor to more creativity in the game.

Not stupid sh*t like more super cars, fighter jets, and any other military bullsh*t.

All very true and I agree with you 100%.

The practical value/use of a hovercraft like this is EXTREMELY small.

However, I don't think people would really buy it just for that. There's only so many things in the game to buy and while you can't collect all the cars with just two properties, a goal for any long-term GTA:O player can be (and will be in many cases, myself included) to purchase all Pegasus vehicles.

I didn't buy The Liberator with the intention of using it (a lot) in public free roam sessions or in missions. It's a fun vehicle and granted, it has bulletproof tires, but it's a HUGE unarmoured target and despite it's climbing capabilities, won't get away from police quickly by say, driving into alleys or other hiding places. Even if you're not taken out by childish players who hold grudges against others purely because they're using a vehicle they don't like, you won't last very long with some serious police attention.

But it's incidentally useful and fun! And since we're not talking about real money and a limited catalogue of Pegasus vehicles to choose from, why not buy it? That's about it, I think. Unless you already know you're going to quit playing at some point in the (near) future, you're going to eventually have money left and nothing to spend it on but yet another Pegasus vehicle.

The one thing I'd like, however, is being able to organise the Pegasus delivery menu. I've only got, I think, six P. vehicles right now, but what would it look like if, at some point in the future, I end up buying ALL of them? A bit messy, I imagine. It'd be nice if you could maybe have the menu more in the style of the mechanic delivery one. Where you first select a property and then a vehicle from that property's garage to have delivered to you. At the very least that, with land, sea and air vehicles.
