What's considered having "skill" in GTA online?

Go play CS, MOBA, or ARMA if you want a skilled game. Not this sandbox game.

what are these games please

LOL!

i wasn't even trolling, I actually don't know, im curious

CS = Counter Strike, one of the best shooters out there (in my opinion). I did lose many, many hours of my life to that when they released a PS3 version a few years ago, but I loved every minute of it. Anyway, it's an FPS so you can't really compare the 2 games. That's like trying to argue that aim type A is better than aim type B.

CS is the most simplest shooting game in the world the requires no skill you dont even aim down sight you have this tiny reticule on your screen and you just spray every where

Moba?

Armra is some stupid game where u sit around for 2 hours hoping some one gets in your area so you can have gun fight that last 5 seconds

all of these are probably trash pc games

Can't tell if trolling. You've obviously never played CS and have only watched videos of it. Spraying will get you no where in CS, even if you learn the spray patterns. You probably don't even understand how the recoil works.

MOBA = Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. Games like League of Legends, DotA, and Smite.

Counter strike

No weapon sway

No recoil

No aim down sight

No equipment

No vehicles

No customization

Lots of hackers

I have no idea why its in the top 3 for MLG circuit games

It's spelled lose people, not loose.

I think its different in the British accent. Could be wrong, though.

Nah - loose and lose are the same in all versions of English. You lose something when it falls off cos it too loose :p

There's very little skill in a game like gta, most of the gameplay is so basic a 5 year old could button mash and get the same result

Ten a penny called it. Not that we didn't see it coming. I don't know what could even be considered skill in GTA V online. All I know is I keep racing non contact either because I'm too skilled, or not skilled enough.

This is my issue with GTA.

I'm either too good or not good enough. Thanks modders for messing with my in game confidence. I haven't run into on modder or hacker in RDR yet, and I feel SKILLED!

Not only does the game have an auto aim feature built in and activated by default (also considered an AIMBOT in every other shooter) but the free aim is just horrible by itself. There is way too much acceleration in the free aiming and the x and y sensitivities don't compliment each other at all.

To be fair OP,

what is considered to be "skill" is very subjective in GTA.

There are many ways to play this game and there's really no right or wrong way to play. Because of this, everyone is gonna have different opinions, views and style of gaming of GTAO, on what is considered "skill".

Skill is being able to survive by any means necessary without glitching etc.

Jets, Tanks, Buzzards, Sniping from a building, reverse zentorno's, off radar kills, minigun, auto shotgun, abusing passive mode.

Don't complain if any of these kill ya. If you're a player that uses these tactics, you're smart. If not, you're probably those weak players that be on the mic like "get out that jet and fight on the ground".

Its Grand Theft Auto, you weren't complaining when you were using cheat codes in San Andreas right? So why complain when you get wacked by the above?

Fight like a man? Nah, I fight to survive :pirate:

"Fight me on the ground you f*ggot ass f*ggot" is something I hear a lot. It's hilarious. They think firing at each other with auto-aim weapons takes more skill than piloting a jet (or helicopter, if you actually like those things in this game :p ).

FYI, I allow anybody who challenges me to an air-to-air battle to get a jet. I like to see what kind of skills somebody has. I'm not interested in locking down the base so that nobody has a chance, I'm interested in getting other people into the jet. Most of the people who challenge me refuse to even make their way to the base when I let them know that I am letting them get a jet. They know that the guy who is confident enough to let his opponent get the weapon of his choice is somebody you do not want to mess with :D

That said, the people who do get a jet and display some degree of skill, I tend to become friendly with.

Apparently combat rolling every 4 seconds.

Timing up the rolls, yes.

Rolling every microsecond, not really.

Also, in my opinion, jets (air-to-air combat, NOT air-to-ground) have the highest skill ceiling in this game. They are one of a very small number of truly competitive game modes in this game, and it is completely by accident. The techniques we are using in free-for-all's and especially 1-v-1's are still evolving, almost a year after the game has come out. It's a lot of fun.

And, IMO, GTA Online offers better jet combat than anything you will find on consoles. I understand that some may prefer Battlefield or Starhawk, but GTA still offers its own unique, one of a kind charm. Hence why we fly jets in this game, and not ARMA or any of that other sh*t. The jets in this game manage to be easily accessible (it's easy for a noob to get in one and fly around for a bit), yet they also leave a lot of room for skill (there is an enormous difference between that noob getting into it for the first time, and the guy who has been flying the jet and analyzing the physics of it since the game came out). It's truly awesome.

The one shot kills are what help to make it great, IMO. Other jet games have major problems with people who never attack opponents who haven't already been weakened by somebody else, and instead of showing off their ability to fly jets, they end up displaying their ability to only go after enemy jets on the verge of being killed by somebody who deserves the kill more than they do. And it forces people to play the game in this manner. GTA does not have that problem.

if you play like this, especially in this game you're doing it wrong

gta has never been about winning, it's about having fun.

and fooling yourself into thinking how great you are is just delusional

any idiot could turn the chances into their favor in free mode, it does not mean you're better or more skilled

it means you're pathetic and care way too much!

This. Just because I, for an example, defeated you once in a DM doesn't mean that I'm better than you.

>Not having to rely on auto and a heavy sniper all the time.

> not using stickies 24/7 in a vehicle

> turn off catchup in races

> not rolling around like your f*cking Rob Van Dam.

Those are some pretty basic ones.

That is why I put down that free to play ace combat game. It was cool at first. But then there was alot of menus I just didn't understand.
