What's considered having "skill" in GTA online?

Becaaaause.....

Tanks are Easy Mode. Being only driven by those who lack aiming skills even in an auto aim lobby. Lazers, not so much. Tanks?

You use it for police rampages or for missions? Okay, good for you. But using it because you lack aiming capacities? I feel sorry for ya. ;)

You use it for whatever the f*ck you want, that's what you use it for :)

But by your logic, every tank battle would end in a draw, because everyone is just as good as everyone else.

Aiming at the back praying out that you'll blow your enemy's tank is nowhere to be considered skullz.

Its like saying AA takes more killing skills than FA. Because basically, and this is coming from an AA player, AA is all about who have less lag and who can hit L2 and push the analog stick up for a clean headshot. FA on the other hand.....

Skill is a drop of dew falling from a budding petal.

Skill is the flaring if the sun as it penetrates the clouds.

Skill is the thousandth flap of a hummingbird's wing caught in perfect stillness.

*nods wisely, and adopts a stance of perfect tranquility*

*is blown up by a tank*

You should choose your words very carefully, or you could start another war, one that we've not seen before. I pull my stick back to look up :p

Just traversing the terrain while aiming at the target takes skill. Dodging other cars, so you don't explode, being careful not to get stuck on something... while maintaining a lock on your target can be tricky, and a deciding factor. So many shells have missed me because of this.

Not convinced? Give the joystick to your girlfriend, or sister and tell me you're not more skilled with a tank than her. ;)

CrysisAverted

Against a Jet I will either shoot it down with my heavy sniper or another jet

Against a Tank I will go off radar and kill with c4/ jet/ tank/ rpg

Against a Zentorno I will barrel roll to an angle where I can hit them or blow them up

Against guy with guns I will snipe them or gun them down by any means possible (though I haven't done much gun fights since godmodding became the norm)

Against a Hacker I leave and if everyone did that hackers would basically just be playing singleplayer

Against a godmodder I hire a mugger, run them over, repeat until im bored

Against Buzzards I shoot the pilot out since they are so vulnerable

Against wall breachers I either aim at specific parts of the wall with an rpg/tank and blow them out or snipe them out through said spots

This game doesn't require skill......AT ALL.

True. But the more you do it the more skillful you get.

Of course they did....

Let me simplify it then. It doesn't take a genius to play this game. It does however take skill to be better then others. Be it firefights, or tanks, or jets... That's a fact.

Using your own intelligence and the training that you do from survival and other missions will help your skills out in a big way.

I'm sad you changed your sig... and avatar...

Skill is when you dint have to do what OP stated to get kills.

Skill is when you don't need tanks, Lazers, Buzzards or Lester.

Skill is fighting with dignity and making it fair.

Skill is being able to pawn a same-levelled player with a Combat pistol.

Skill is what OP doesn't have.

/thread

Lol... Skill is not pistol to pistol combat... that is the most one -dimensional thing in the game.

Someone was talking sh*t to me last night telling me to get out the sky & fight "like a man"... And they invited me to pistol & all weps deathmatches...Now, I literally hardly ever spend time on the ground & certainly even less time in TDM... so I was at my absolute worst on the ground & still won every match, still kept a 2 - 5 K/D for each round. Nothing on the ground takes skill, the only thing even close to requiring some element of skill is free aim.

Buzzards & Annihilators are the real signs of skill.

Jet is not a sign of skill because the jet is f*cking easy as sh*t & requires no aim & no skill to get kills with... Helis are the pinnacle right now & the true measuring stick.

How does it take skills in aiming at the ass of another tank is just beyond my f*cking brain.

Why do people complain about auto aim? You know every1 in the lobby has it and it on the same playing field, if two players have the same abilities then the winner is the one with more skill, same applies to free aim......smh

It's really simple. You loose because the person that beat you is more skilled then you, and vice versa. Nothing happens by chance. If I come at you with a tank, the more skilled player will win.

This thread... If you are skilled in GTA the skills aren't transferrable. Being skilled at this game won't get you a bigger paycheck in life.

Now if this was a thread about which crews were the most competitive, we'd have something I could sink my fangs into.

nope , not quite

this depends on ur connection and the operator's skills ( if the tank prefers hit and run , then it indicates the operator is an tank experts )

also worth to note tanks is highly effective at open environment like airfield

there will always be those guys who will find a reason to call you lamer if you kill him 10 times in a row .... even if they suck ass....

I've been called a sticky bomb lamer just because some guy always chased me around corners and I always put stickies and blew him up...

anyone who's hard to kill without glitching or a jet is good IMO. you need ot know the map as well as you can snipe or use other weapons...

this thread will end up in a flame war...

Why are there always wars going on about FA and AA?

Jesus, they both take as much skill as each other, just in different areas. In Free Aim, you need a steady hand and good aim to kill (more skill to kill) and in Auto Aim/ Assisted Aim you need much, much more skill in order to not get killed (rolling, taking cover, not running in a zig zag at the enemy Rambo'ing their bullets, etc)

It had nothing to do with Skill... It was all strategy and knowing how to win.

They would probably beat me with the pistols straight up in the open because all they do is practice rolling all day everyday with pistols... I literally never do TDM, so the fact I beat them at my worst is a sign of how strategical I can play & that I know how to win, regardless of whether I have the advantage or not. & No I never use R1 cover.

If I was more skilled than people on the ground it would be GTA 4 all over again, going into TDM & getting 300 kills in 20mins and straight up destroying people no matter what, but it isn't because the shooting is garbo on this game so I have to rely on knowledge of the game/series & strategy to win when I am on the ground.

Some crews play cleanly, and some play out right dirty and do everything they can to win. Individual players are the same thing. I would say in a contact crew vs. crew race that would seperate the men from the boys. Same with captures. Simple one on one's aren't gunna cut it. Especially in free roam with cops.

Granted as I said no one is getting paid in reality, or hired by rockstar for being able to push buttons accurately.

But I think we all know damn well it's difficult to tell a skilled player from an unskilled at a certain level.

Strategy without skill is almost nothing. Tactics give you a plan, but it's skill that executes it.

Maybe not but your ability to survive and kill your enemy who ALSO has AA takes skill, remember you both can be locked on to
