What's considered having "skill" in GTA online?

Skill is being able to survive by any means necessary without glitching etc.

Jets, Tanks, Buzzards, Sniping from a building, reverse zentorno's, off radar kills, minigun, auto shotgun, abusing passive mode.

Don't complain if any of these kill ya. If you're a player that uses these tactics, you're smart. If not, you're probably those weak players that be on the mic like "get out that jet and fight on the ground".

Its Grand Theft Auto, you weren't complaining when you were using cheat codes in San Andreas right? So why complain when you get wacked by the above?

Fight like a man? Nah, I fight to survive :pirate:

I got the perfect skill. Guaranteed to piss everyone off.

I go into a public session, I put passive mode on, I turn my mic on and then i scream and yell trying to sing, then i put the mic behind me so you can hear all the lovely sounds. That takes skill hmmm no wonder they muted me. Ok back to the drawing board.

Lol sounds like some Rand sits in a tank and goes into passive as soon as he got blown up, then got told how sh*t he was so he came here to look for sympathy...

BTW who the f*ck uses cheat codes lololol u really are bad

Despite the flames that are inevitably going to be covering your corpse for an eternity, I have to agree with you, OP. As much as I hate people who reverse Zentorno, hunt randoms down with Lazers, and so forth, they ARE using tactics that I could employ. Afterall, I bet we've all done something similar.

But alas, this forum and even the world is filled with egotistical bastards who believe their way is the only way.

Skill is when you dint have to do what OP stated to get kills.

Skill is when you don't need tanks, Lazers, Buzzards or Lester.

Skill is fighting with dignity and making it fair.

Skill is being able to pawn a same-levelled player with a Combat pistol.

Skill is what OP doesn't have.

When you don't need auto aim

When you stop caring about money and RP

When you use your head to fight

When you dominate level 100 players with a pistol

When you stop reading this and just play the game to have skill

Skill is when you don't roll around to avoid bullets.

Skill is when you don't need various explosives to get outta a sticky situation.

Its just a video game...why so serious?

i think someone told him in his other thread that his KDR doesnt mean he has skill (yes he might have alot of it) but that he is an annoying player that doesnt play like a gentleman!

Auto aim is a choice, not a measure of skill.

What does that have to do with it??

That's called intelligence, not skill.

That means nothing. 100 =/= 100 when it comes to levels

It's a skill to go get skill?

Don't forget your mods/hacks and turbo controllers. Only real players uses these. Playing fair without mods/hacks and modded controllers means you suck.

What happen to real skill? No bullsh*t just player vs player to see who truly is better? Honestly I believe playing fair shows who the real legit players are.

Be happy when I see one of these in gtao. In the mean time I'll enjoy the bullsh*t that is grand theft auto online.

This game doesn't require skill......AT ALL.

It does.. headshots, rolling, anticipating explosives, sniping, jets all require a certain level of skill.

There's no skill required what so ever. You get better at the game through experience, and almost everyone has a set strategy they like to use during combat situations. For example, if I see that a few of my crew/friends are in trouble and are out numbered, then I'll grab a jet and try to assist from the air. If I don't have time to do that and the area is just right, I'll get on top of a building and take up a sniping position.

It honestly all comes down to how you use the environment around you.

What good is the environment if you can't aim with that sniper? Or a Lazer if you're not so good at flying yet?

"You get better at the game through experience" - This comment contradicts your whole statement. Is that not gaining skill?

I can see where I contradicted myself, man I need to get some sleep if I'm not able to think straight. But yes, you're right. In order to do the 2 things I said, you would need practice, which would start to put your skill in those areas up.

I think as with many things, a varying combination of: Hand-eye coordination, common sense, instinct and learnt behaviour.

I ignore people until they start shooting at me, then in my mind, if they start shooting at me, they wanted to, so I can do whatever the f*ck I feel like.

Primarily using the Minigun on everyone that shoots me.

Using your own intelligence and the training that you do from survival and other missions will help your skills out in a big way.

  1. Free Aim. I gotta admit, using L2 to aim in FA is a bitch.
  2. Actually use any gun you've been given. Seriously. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who use the Vintage pistol.
  3. Knowing when to roll. Guess what Free Aimers, yes, combat rolling doesn't just break the lock in AA. Timing it right can also let you dodge the bullets.
  4. People who can Quick Scope. In my book, anybody who can Quick Scope using the snipers is an expert.

I could go on but these are what came to my mind.

LOL tanks take skills. Park here > Analog stick @ target > R1. Yay, skullz!!!! :D:D:D

- People who can use Free Aim, I've tried it, I suck, I don't want to do it again.

- Also, people that actually know how to drive and can weave in between Traffic, and get to a destination without crashing about 100 times, or at all.

I agree with everything but the remark about the tanks. How good you are in ANY aspect of the game is based around how much you practice. Even a simple thing as moving around. So why would a tank be different?

Quoted from the thread about mini guns…

"Running out in the open and rolling around got old very quickly, the way to gain advantage now is through verticality (knowing of buildings that can give you an upper hand or giving you an edge), cover (and shooting the appropriate weapon from cover) and by using the right tool for the right job (an AP pistol at short range is much more dangerous than a rifle at the same range), also knowing when to use your phone contacts etc."

Also knowing when to fight and when to run.

This is speaking from my auto-aim situation. Free-aim is another level of skill and I simply can't enjoy it (because I suck).
