Why I Believe A Zombie Mode Would Be Bad

If we actually do get zombies, It wouldn't much surprise me if it is its own separate "free mode" session. It'd probably be along the lines of Lost and Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony, each separated with its own differences between each other.

There would be 8.

Regular Free Ain

Regular Assisted

Regular BS

Regular CP

Zombie Free Aim

Zombie Assisted

Zombie BS

Zombie CP

I've not noticed a sparsity of players. Lobbies are always full. You wouldn't complain about call of duty having too many modes. It's diversity. Besides I for one need something new in this game. It's getting real stale.

Making a zombie DLC is a cheap, easy, phoned-in DLC which takes only a minimum amount of lazy, uninspired game coding. Expect to see it in GTA0 shortly. :p

Way to totally not read the post

Also, I wouldn't consider it easy, not uninspired work. You have to remember how many aspects there are to zombies. How do they move, how do they attack, do they have intelligence or just instinct, what weapons would be too OP for taking out the zombies.

They did it with RDR so they would probably just use what they did there. Idk how that sh*t works, but that seems like something they would do.

I really hope they decide not to do it. It would be better if they tried to produce original content instead, rather than something that has been done so many times in other games.

If they must bring it in, I think it should be an SP only feature, paid DLC. Something that you can choose to buy if you want, but not forced on you if you don't want it. There's enough issues that arise from the game as it is without gimmick game modes or worse, zombies in online freemode. They have enough trouble implementing simple DLC's without shoehorning a whole new game in.

Somebody mentioned a zombie survival mode with only melee weapons allowed and maybe a pistol tho if used the gunshot will attract the majority of zombies ur way so there's a risk to using a fire arm on them. I'd love something like that :) will we get it? Prob not lol

Imagine everybody is playing in free mode and everything is "fine" and then, the sky suddenly become dark, the lights stop working and zombies come out of nowhere. But it's not possible on PS360

I wouldn't worry op, zombies simply doesn't have enough relevance to gta to be anything permanent. It would be a temporary thing for Halloween, sort of like a special event. Get rid of all normal Npc and add monsters, they don't need to restrict themselves to just zombies. I agree it would split up players too much if it was anything more than just a special event for a week.

No place for zombies in free roam even if it is a seperate game mode, it would just be stupid. But I do feel there are a place for them in missions or survival if needs be. But seeing them in free roam would be ridiculous and just a desperate move from R* to keep people active.

As fun as Undead Nightmare was in RDR, I really don't want to see something of this nature in the GTA universe, it really just doesn't feel like it fits with the vibe at all.

Also, as I mentioned in another thread regarding this, the game struggles to spawn NPCs and traffic in full lobbies as it is. This type of addition just isn't feasible for that reason alone, not to mention the fact that the player base is already fractured enough between separate lobbies for different settings.

I just don't see it being a positive edition at all.

zombie mode would make the flashlights useful

if they did it they should open up more buildings

zombie mode in free mode should be in a seperate lobby, I get what your saying about divided lobbies but it would also bring back a lot of players to try it out

zombie survivals for sure

zombie story mode dlc in the form of a nightmare for trevor or something

maybe merrywether fault...

no pvs only SOME working cars on the street and very dark/even in daytime

You see, With Zombie mode DLC will come another set of problems. Glitches and hackers will find another way to boost health and/or find way to increase damage inflicted by the zombies or probably hack the heck out of the mode. I feel the mode should be something like this,

ZOMBIE DLC MODE:

Zombies: Random AI Peds

Survivors: Human Players

Survivor Vehicles: Available to steal from the road and/or brought from post zombie apocalyptic website. Vehicles can be modded with weaponry.

Zombie Powers/Accessories: Infection, Damage, Death, etc

Survivor Powers/Accessories: Med Packs, Injections, Anti-Infection Masks, Bio Suits, Armor, etc

It would be fun to see the whole city in darkness you know like during a Nuclear Winter or Foggy Smoky Atmosphere. Whole place is deserted with empty cars/vehicles lying around the highway. Plane wreckage in the middle of the city, Random zombies walking around on the road. And it would be interesting to see random AI Human Survivors in groups fighting the zombies in groups with guns. Say if you came in contact with them they would back you up or follow you etc.

I'd maybe get on board with a Hallowe'en Special with a couple of Zombie themed missions and survivals. As a permanent addition, or as a Free-Roam implementation, I just don't think it works.

I also see you toned down the size of your text, kudos. :orly::^:

doesn't that describe gta online as a whole?

how much of the community is ready to just drop the game until heists come out? a new mode is fine. if it sucks then the auto-aim lobbies stay full. if it doesn't suck then you might actually have fun playing something new online.

Yeah, I think this would be the best way to implement zombies. Make it kinda like the flight school. A little play list and story in online.

1-4 players must make their way from one location to the next. Only melee weapons and the standard pistol are allowed. No vehicles work.

With the npc traffic off, it would allow the zombie count to be higher. Zombies would have cone vision like the cops, so stealth is paramount to succeed. If spotted, zombies will run towards you, and can run slightly faster than you can. This means that if you're spotted, you had better find a rooftop, or hiding spot fast, as you can't just flat out outrun them.

Mission 1-3 may have you and your team going from one place to the next in and around LS to collect some gear, and look for a scientist or something.

Missions 4-8 have you moving out into the country in your search for a cure/escape. It's harder to survive out in the desert as there is little cover to hide. You eventually end up in Paleto Bay.

Missions 9-10. You must reach the top of Mt Chiliad in order to radio for an escape. Zombies are in full chase mode as you and what's left of your team scramble all the way up Chiliad in order to send a radio message. Level 10 will be a full onslaught as you try and hold the mountain top until an evac arrives.

I thought zombies would be good, but then I realized at 120 you're a walking army....zombies wouldn't present much of a challenge.

Who says we would keep all our weapons and cars and apts? Also why assume they will be slow walker zombies? What if we have to scavenge for weapons or maybe just ammo and the zombies are the fast horde type like 28 days later.

But Op I would only want thus type of dlc with split lobbys like they did with RDR.

It workes prefectly fine when you have that load screen where you pick sp or online there would be a third option for the zombie mode. Thats how they implemented it on RDR I doubt it would be different.

Personally, I don't want zombies just for a single day.
Like a few people suggested, I'd like to see a lobby for zombies or the "apocalypse" in its self.
Maybe unlock the third or fourth character slot and have it geared specifically for the zombie lobby and have everyone start fresh.
Turn the city into a wasteland, make having a car a real commodity as well as weapons. Make them difficult to obtain.
As someone suggested, make use of the flashlight. Turn the power out in the city and darken the skies up with same the filter you can use when watching a player.
Add more than zombies; how about zombie animals, aliens, monsters, demons, stuff like that.
Open up areas like the police station and hospitals so you can scavenge for resources.
Last thing; keep the Zombie Lobby stuck on Free Aim. When you got a swarm of zombie AI coming at you the greatest buzzkill is auto aim.

I made a Capture Mission that I turned into a zombie-like survival and I played it with my buddy on freeaim, it gets intense.

OFF TOPIC: I love me some zombies, ever since Resident Evil. R* showed us with Undead Nightmare that they can do a great expansion with zombies and zombie animals. I don't understand why people get so rustled by the idea of zombies entering GTA O, it would be a good way to bring some new life into the game.

See RDR. For anyone saying zombies have no relevance to gta who cares??? What relevance did they have in the wild west when rockstar added them to that game? None. What relevance do they have to call of duty? None but they added those modes anyway.

It worked fine as a sp mission storyline and as added online game modes for many games before it. Gta4 has already done add on standlone dlcs that are accessible only within themselves either online or off.

You dont like it you dont buy it and you dont play it, Its that simple it will not affect your gaming style.

Why is this a hard concept to grasp when it has been done before many times and successfully and done by the actual company that created this game.

Whoever wanted a source its been rumored since before christmas and the new PS mag hits tomorrow furthering the gta zombie rumor mill. It has it on there with a ? Mark

I don't really think it matters if other GTA players get split up, If Zombies mode were to drop everyone and their sister would play it at least for a little while.

As far as that aspect, they should totally remove bad sport. It would be a much better system (IMO of course) if you would rack up points on a scale when killing passive players or destroying cars towards a different purpose. Instead of sending people to BS, maybe Martin could exile you from the city like in SP. Then youd be forced to hang out in the sticks or deal with being hunted. Then, the more points you stack against yourself, the more aggressive his henchmen get and the smaller safe zone you have. Anyone who would get BS based on reports could go to CP instead. To fill the continuity hole of doing Martin missions, he could probably call you and say something along the lines of "you have been disrupting my business, I thought we were partners. Stay out of the way of my other associates before you make trouble for yourself". Just a bit of a brainstorm

So instead of weeding out the griefer assholes and forcing to play only with OTHER griefer assholes you want to just let them stay with us good players? And as a "punishment" you want them to fight with NPC henchmen and gain money/RP from killing them? Oh and lets not forget that these particular griefer assholes could always just get a buzzard or lazer and could hunt with impunity. Thats like letting everyone out of prison and telling them "ok guys, you can go wreak havoc everywhere but this one area. If you enter this area you can STILL wreak havoc on innocent people but you will be chased by braindead thugs". Brilliant.

How about we just leave it the way it is hummmmm?

LMFAO! I was thinking the same. Although I wouldn't mind, I hate being in this lobby. Let me out and im sure i'll be bk in a week or so. OP how would the henchmen stop me in my jet? Edited by SimpleJack_420

Besides, you act like you would get a lot of RP for killing them and npcs never carry cash. They could just not give RP or drop cash when they die. And obviously some people didn't read the part where I said they could get more aggressive as you cause more damage.

Hell, if you prefer, entering city limits could give you an automatic 3 star wanted level until you leave and lose them. Lester wouldn't work in city limits.

If a Zombie DLC came out, I could only see them adding a Zombie mask similar to the one in the game already.

In fact, it might just be a Halloween DLC at the end with Zombie and Alien masks similar to the models ingame.

They might throw in some kind of suits or clothing in shops, to top it off that cost over $50,000+

Rockstar is known to half asz DLCs lately. Just like in 1.16. I'm pretty sure they won't go out of their way to code a Zombie mode. It might just be a clothing and mask add on, only.

I think you have the best idea I've seen regarding Zombies so far. Individual mission locations in which have nodes to begin Survival, where the enemies are Zombies. Would be easy for R* to make, as there are already Zombie NPC models, and they've coded new online Survival missions before (ex. Del Perro Survival, Beach Bum update). That way there isn't any more segregation among the players, and those who want to play it can play it normally, and get rewarded for it. Those who don't want zombies can just flat out ignore the survival nodes and keep on their merry way.

Zombie mode - No.

Zombie Survival Mission - Yes.
