Why I Believe A Zombie Mode Would Be Bad

I'm going to put aside my own opinion of the zombie genre as well as try to ignore Rockstar's poor code implementation.

 

Obviously zombies wouldn't just be a free mode thing. That's where I feel there's a problem. As much as I don't want it in regular free mode, I feel it wouldn't be in the best interests for the community as a whole to implement them as a separate mode either. I mean, we have everyone already split into 2 groups with free-aim and auto-aim. On top of that, there's bad sport and cheater pool lobbies for each of those modes. That means all the players are spread out in at least 6 different types of lobbies. I just see adding a zombie mode as a way of further dividing players. Maybe this wouldn't be an issue if it was set as a mission or survival, though. What are your opinions on THIS PARTICULAR ASPECT of a possible zombie implementation? Please try to keep your opinions on the zombie genre in general out of this discussion as well as the whole "zombies aren't meant for gta" bit.

I think in general the zombie theme is played-out, and time, energy and resources could be better spent on better additions by the people whom code additions. So in short, I agree but for different reasons I guess but I'm with ya!

Honestly, until I see HOW they implement it, I'm trying to keep an open mind. As much as I agree it's been played out, there's always the possibility for a fun twist. I just think there should be less ways to divide up the players.

 

As far as that aspect, they should totally remove bad sport. It would be a much better system (IMO of course) if you would rack up points on a scale when killing passive players or destroying cars towards a different purpose. Instead of sending people to BS, maybe Martin could exile you from the city like in SP. Then youd be forced to hang out in the sticks or deal with being hunted. Then, the more points you stack against yourself, the more aggressive his henchmen get and the smaller safe zone you have. Anyone who would get BS based on reports could go to CP instead. To fill the continuity hole of doing Martin missions, he could probably call you and say something along the lines of "you have been disrupting my business, I thought we were partners. Stay out of the way of my other associates before you make trouble for yourself". Just a bit of a brainstorm

Making a zombie DLC is a cheap, easy, phoned-in DLC which takes only a minimum amount of lazy, uninspired game coding. Expect to see it in GTA0 shortly. :p

Way to totally not read the post

 

Also, I wouldn't consider it easy, not uninspired work. You have to remember how many aspects there are to zombies. How do they move, how do they attack, do they have intelligence or just instinct, what weapons would be too OP for taking out the zombies.

A zombie dlc for single player is the only way I see it working, and maybe a survival zombie mode might work in online mode but definitely not in free roam

I would hope it would be a separate lobby, one I would never visit. I would probably be stuck with them anyway, because modders would probably spawn them into regular sessions. I would have to stick to invite only, forever, just so I wouldnt have to see a stupid zombie.

I didn't read any of this, but I believe if there is a zombie mode it should be a Halloween special event.

Cut off all power, no Street lights so it's pitch black at night etc

 

Have it run for 2 or 3 days.

A permanent mode would only divide the playerbase

f*ck public lobbies, when zombies hits all I need is my merc crew and we can pull off ops on ourselves without fa**ots rolling up in sh*t green zentornos spamming the clown horn, not only ruining the military convoy (or whatever we're doing since we only use vehicles fit for the crew) but also getting in the way and most likely blowing one of us up.

I thought zombies would be good, but then I realized at 120 you're a walking army....zombies wouldn't present much of a challenge.

If it is implemented it will probably be survival.

 

A free mode lobby for zombies would be fine too. I'm not worried about splitting up the players, the amusement will wear off pretty quickly.

I totally agree. Every game nowadays seems to implement Zombies in some way, and honestly, I have never really cared for them. I guess it would be pretty cool to have a free mode that has Zombies instead of pedestrians, and chaos everywhere, but I agree with what you said about the different lobby types. Obviously, Zombies seem to be a popular thing, and I'm sure a LOT of people have been asking for it in this game. That's the thing that worries me about it, though. EVERYBODY would be in the Zombie free roam, rather than the normal free roam, which would basically make it a ghost town.

 

If they do add a Zombie theme into the game, I would NOT like it to be added as a free roam type, but rather like this:

  • New Zombie Outfits.
  • Zombie Masks.
  • Possibly some brutal weapons.
  • Some sick ass vehicles with some sick ass vinyls on them.
  • A couple of Zombie SURVIVAL modes.

Pretty much just stuff like that, kind of how they do with all of their DLC's. I wouldn't really want Zombies to be a major DLC, but just a neat little update that will keep us occupied.

I would almost prefer a 'hostile pedestrians' similar to VC when you entered the code, and ALL the NPC's would shoot and had guns lol.

So instead of weeding out the griefer assholes and forcing to play only with OTHER griefer assholes you want to just let them stay with us good players? And as a "punishment" you want them to fight with NPC henchmen and gain money/RP from killing them? Oh and lets not forget that these particular griefer assholes could always just get a buzzard or lazer and could hunt with impunity. Thats like letting everyone out of prison and telling them "ok guys, you can go wreak havoc everywhere but this one area. If you enter this area you can STILL wreak havoc on innocent people but you will be chased by braindead thugs". Brilliant.

 

How about we just leave it the way it is hummmmm?

they could do a zombie survival mission with a free roam map and thousands of zombies (nextgen). and when suddenly everybody is doing survivals, we should reconsider the level of demand.

Drive any vehicle faster than 50mph and watch the world deres around you. If zombies are to be implemented I hope they're a survival or a playlist. This game barely runs as is and having persistent zombies spawning and coming at you, car crashes and explosions...

Zombies would not be a permanent thing in GTA. It would obviously be for the Halloween season and be taken down after Halloween ended. Everyone needs to stop bitching about a game mode that won't hurt the game and you don't have to play.

Just out of curiosity, have Rockstar said anything about zombies or aliens at any point? I don't recall ever reading about that in GTA V related articles yet everyone is constantly talking about them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there were no real zombies or aliens in GTA games before, so why, unless Rockstar actually said they would, would you think they're going to add them?

 

And if they are, they'll probably be temporary like Pyramid_Head said.

Anyway, I too think that if it's a different type of session for this mode that it won't be good for the community. And who needs it anyway? There's lots of zombie games you can play!

 

Seriously though, when and where did Rockstar say anything about this? I'd like a source.

if its in free mode this is how they should do it they should make it foggy rainy and during nightime for nonstop and having certain types of guns such as the first shotgun combat pistol grenades the first sniper rifle dont know the name and the carbine rifle and have a option in the start menu to join a zombie mode lobby would.be very awesome if they added zombies
