Getting banned for buying shark cards!

In fairness, buying a shark card is the same as glitching. You *should* be punished for it. Play the game how it was intended to be played :catspider:

Not if it was put there by r* themselves purposely.

than why do all these legits keep crying about having to earn stuff?

contradiction much? XD

I don't know why you guys are having trouble believing OP. Stuff like this has happened before, like when people were cheater pooled for playing modded missions that they didn't know where modded.

Almost collected a million dollar bounty a few days ago since they came back, I knew that I would get hammer slammed by R* for getting it but it was so hard to walk away from all that money.

Also the entire lobby went apesh*t so it was impossible for me to go near him without getting blown of by chromes.

OP is full of sh*t, as if they would ban someone because they suddenly got a bunch of money...like someone doing any type of auditing couldn't see a Shark Card purchase...OP's "friend" did something else...

So you're saying that Rockstar is unable to tell the difference between purchased $GTA:O and glitched cash, huh?

People just playing a modded mission once...or people that played dumb and did the missions over and over and over and over...?

Always someone posting on behalf of a friend when it comes to bans. Why doesnt the 'friend' ever post their problems in matters like this.

People bitch alot on the forums about their bans, sometimes they don't go on forums so a friend like me just posts on behalf of him.

Obviously you have not played GTA: Online in a few days. Million dollar bounties are spread around lobbies currently so it would make since for sh*t like this to happen.

You can, and WILL be banned if you glitch money right now but I guess rockstar is holding a loose hammer on any player who gets alot of money.

sh*t like this has happened before.

Why was he afraid of glitching getting him banned? It's obvious he glitched and was punished for it. Just because he bought a shark card doesn't make him or his past actions any better.

Pretty much this. I got a 2.99$ redemption code from a member here (lol) to try to cover up the hundreds of millions(lol).....didn't work.....

Good thing when you come out of your 2 week ban, they leave 20 adders on your second character for you as a stimulus package.

That's too f*cking bad for your friend OP.

He obviously f*cked up somewhere and is now paying the price. Deal with it.

Also, all entitled youth feel they can do no wrong and any punishment is uncalled for. Damn kids these days...

See the problem is you bought the 50 dollar card. If you just happen to have an extra 50 burning a hole in your savings then chances are you have 100. Should popped for that one. R* knew you were holding back on them.

I can confirm this BS.

My friend bought 2 shark cards and was banned by R* for it. He immediately contacted R* support, they unbanned him but the money he bought, he did not receive back.

That's fraud, plain and simple.

You can easily prove you paid for the shark card your your bank statement. Contact Rockstar and tell then you want your money refunded or you want your in game credit. It's really simple and doesn't involve making accusations about a company.

OP if what you say is all true take it to R* support forum not here. If he hasn't done anything but play legit for a short while and purchased a shark card they will sort it out. Nobody here can do sh*t.

Im not here asking for help, im here to ask if this has happened to anyone else.

He can take it to the support forums, im just sharing the story dude.

Right. But you should really take this matter up with Rockstar, they can help you much better then we ever could. Good luck

Makes sense this would be happening what with their "system" to detect cheaters. With the modded money being back i would guess they put this sytem back into play to pick up large instant sums of money being placed into an account. Way to go Rockstar!

So go head, sue R*. Spend 2500$+ getting a cheap lawyer to take them to court. Even though R* has big money lawyers/ basically a whole company division dedicated to things like this, take em to court.

They know no one is going to spend thousands of dollars over a lost 50 bucks. With that knowledge, they can do this to people all day long; but if some one actually sues them, it'll bring em back to earth.

Sidenote: middle-finger-to-shark-card-master-race

He should sue R*!

for $50. Totally worth the thousands in lawyer costs

Does America not have an equvilant to a small claims court? In the UK it's cheap if the claim is under a certain amount. Normally just the threat is enough to make a company cough up what you're owed.

R* support is a f*cking joke. I lost 3 cars in the last week due to cloud save errors. Support tells me they have no record of me having the cars. I sent them multiple pictures of the cars in my garage. Fully modded Claasic Coquette Topless, Bison, and Warrener. They send me $105 k in game. Seriously?!?! They gave me $1.5 milli back in January when I lost a Futo and whenever I try to contact them again, they suffle me around between different support agents who just copy/past irrelevant answers.

In the US, a court won't even bother with anything digital content related unless it's at least $3000 in losses/theft (last time I checked, could be wrong though).

I hope someone finds a way to break the game for good like GTA IV. They are being such fu*kers. Best time was during the billionaire days. After that its just gone downhill.

I seriously doubt that he only purchased a shark card. If this were so then there would be hundreds/ thousands of threads on this. When something good happens you tell 10 people, when something bad happens you tell 100.

He "broke" his disc back in December, how the shell do you break a disc unintentionally? So he had very little play time with a large bank account red flag.

My guess money lobby, screwy job, and /or mega bounties.

cant he sue them?

i mean, its a bit of a waste to spend loads on lawyers just for $50 but he could, right?

So my friend decided to buy a $50 shark card since he was tired of grinding missions for all the expensive goodies R* added when he re-bought GTA V

(his disc broke in back in december), and he was afraid of glitching getting him banned. So last night before he went to sleep he bought the shark card so he could enjoy playing with the money the following morning. But then when he woke up, and logged onto GTA: Online he was thrown into a cheater's pool, and his money was revoked. He spent the entire day trying to contact support but he didn't get a answer. I'm guessing this has something to do with R* pulling the ban hammer on people who get sh*t tons of money at one time.

I was really pissed at R* for doing this. I don't know how they find who glitch the money, or if they even know its legit but getting banned for buying a shark card is ridiculous!

*EDIT 1* I'm not completely sure if this was why he got banned but its the only logical reason why he did get banned since he just bought GTA V a day ago, and he barely just started playing online again. He has only played a few missions for like an entire day before he bought the shark card, played with him the entire time so we didn't do any sketchy sh*t to get us banned.

No blowing up cars,

No mic spamming,

No rude communications,

No nothing!

It was just missions, and sitting in my apartment searching for missions.

*EDIT 2* I did some research on this topic, and I found out this has happened to a handful of players the past week.

I'm just gonna advise anyone not to buy a super expensive shark card until 1.17 but I don't think this is happening to all players who has bought one over $20 because otherwise

R* would be having a sh*tstorm on the support page regarding this misunderstanding.

*EDIT 3* Good news! My bud got ahold of R* via email, and got removed from the bad sport lobby. He didn't get his money back still, are f*cking kidding me R*?

Isn't that fraud? He never even broke the code of conduct to get himself banned so why did R* refuse to give him his money?
