Getting banned for buying shark cards!

So my friend decided to buy a $50 shark card since he was tired of grinding missions for all the expensive goodies R* added when he re-bought GTA V

(his disc broke in back in december), and he was afraid of glitching getting him banned. So last night before he went to sleep he bought the shark card so he could enjoy playing with the money the following morning. But then when he woke up, and logged onto GTA: Online he was thrown into a cheater's pool, and his money was revoked. He spent the entire day trying to contact support but he didn't get a answer. I'm guessing this has something to do with R* pulling the ban hammer on people who get sh*t tons of money at one time.

I was really pissed at R* for doing this. I don't know how they find who glitch the money, or if they even know its legit but getting banned for buying a shark card is ridiculous!

Please respond if this has been a widespread issue across the GTA: Online community.

*EDIT 1* I'm not completely sure if this was why he got banned but its the only logical reason why he did get banned since he just bought GTA V a day ago, and he barely just started playing online again. He has only played a few missions for like an entire day before he bought the shark card, played with him the entire time so we didn't do any sketchy sh*t to get us banned.

No blowing up cars,

No mic spamming,

No rude communications,

No nothing!

It was just missions, and sitting in my apartment searching for missions.

*EDIT 2* I did some research on this topic, and I found out this has happened to a handful of players the past week.

I'm just gonna advise anyone not to buy a super expensive shark card until 1.17 but I don't think this is happening to all players who has bought one over $20 because otherwise

R* would be having a sh*tstorm on the support page regarding this misunderstanding.

*EDIT 3* Good news! My bud got ahold of R* via email, and got removed from the bad sport lobby. He didn't get his money back still, are f*cking kidding me R*?

Isn't that fraud? He never even broke the code of conduct to get himself banned so why did R* refuse to give him his money?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*EDIT 4* Alright well never mind all of this, apparently he DID GLITCH FOR MONEY. I feel kinda gullible for all this.

I'm sorry everyone!

I doubt that was the reason. You know how glitchy GTA:O is, it was more than likely a glitch

Unfortunately he doesn't go on the forums. I didn't know he bought a shark card until after he got banned. Its a even bigger ripoff now since his money was wiped for no reason.

Like I mentioned before he was afraid of getting banned from doing anything related to modding, or glitching so it was out of his mind.

He told me himself that playing hours of missions isn't gonna buy him any of the good sh*t, then he was considering a cash card.

OP if what you say is all true take it to R* support forum not here. If he hasn't done anything but play legit for a short while and purchased a shark card they will sort it out. Nobody here can do sh*t.

Well if he didnt do anything bad and he spent $50.......on the brightside when the support get around to dealing with his ticket im sure they will give him something to compensate for being thrown in the cheaters pool at least. Its just theres no telling how long it could take , if I was him in this situation I would try contact them by phone or at least some emails every few days to keep on their back about it

I could see someone thinking "If someone else hacks me millions, I can't be at fault"

That's one of the problems R* is dealing with the ban hammer, they're banning glitchers, and accomplices.

His console f*cked up his GTA V disc after his xbox fell because it was standing up. Same thing happened to me when I bought Halo 4 but luckily my warranty was still available.

Moral of the story: Keep your xbox consoles flat on the desk instead of standing up. Otherwise it will eat the first disc it plays.

I can confirm this BS.

My friend bought 2 shark cards and was banned by R* for it. He immediately contacted R* support, they unbanned him but the money he bought, he did not receive back.

Ah ok, well in that case. http://gtaforums.com/topic/634655-share-your-stories/

XD Just kidding!

But on a serious note I've not heard of this happening before, hope he gets it resolved.

R* didn't make billions so of course they need to rip off customers

Me neither before this happened. I'm sure this is a ban hammer going loose on anybody who has gotten alot of money regardless if its legit.

Wouldn't that be a legal issue? I mean its kind of fraud since he didn't break the code of conduct to get his money revoked.

Post his gamertag and sh*t so that we can look him up in the Social club to see what he did or didn't do to get himself banned!

I'm not sure you can see that kind of information their SC.

His XBL is alright but character is in 1 month bad sport lobby.

It probably is but he was so fed up he didn't want anything to do with them so he just left it.

It's ridiculous that he was placed under Rockstar's radar when he bought the money legitimately. It's a broken system. He was actually banned and couldn't play for 2 days.

Not only that, I have 2 friends who got their jobs Rockstar verified and still haven't received their money or licence plate.

Oh and one time I was sent to the Cheater Pool for doing a custom mission twice which wasn't anything special and as I sent a Rockstar employee a request the send me out of it, he accidentally banned me. Really. It was hysterical.

R* Support is useless.

When I submitted a ticket about an entity becoming uninsured and was destroyed, it took them about a month to get back to me and even then all they said was they were looking into it. BTW, they never did anything about it.

buying a Shark Card doesn't stop R* from noticing glitching or cheats in games... and people can glitch from the moment they start the game thanks to all the youtube tutorials

tough break but deserved

agreed, not letting the lobby look up the guys stats but still wanting help to get around the system...

I think what happened is that this is the first person on earth who has ever bought a shark card. Rockstar's cheater algorithm has never been programmed to deal with this unexpected and unprecedented case. The algorithm just saw the sudden jump in money and assumed he was a glitcher. :p
