It's always been there, When you take off just go straight up and don't look behind, the Jet should eventually despawn. But if you look behind it will stay there and follow you till you lose it, or it kills you.

Nope. I lost the cops and everything one time, made it back to the city and some random jet came out of nowhere and blew me up. When I re spawned it was still flying around so I sniped at it and it blew me up again. And as soon as I re spawned it again blew me up. Its weird

Lol, it's so easy to steal it. Get in it, go straight up, loop down and see if it's there, if it is, cannonrape it and get outta there before a new one spawns

Yeah, the Jet still follows you if you lose your wanted level, Like I said you can't look behind just wait for it to despawn.

 

I did that mistake once, I looked behind and it kept tailing me, blew me out of the sky and when I respawned, it still killed me.

i think its a interest connection issue because i used to experience tho issue back in 1.15 and yesterday but there are other times when there app read out of no where and other time when they follow you. i mean most of the time you don't even see tanks drive around those jets and sometime they do in which you are instantly get shot down. ...its all based of luck i guess but it def a network issue try going to other sessions and see if you get the same thing because now-a-day, i already know the routine "in and out" haven't been shot down in weeks/months

Actually, the f*cker has a tendency to say "f*ck your flying skill" and kill you anyway. Wanted level or not. I AM a competent pilot (would be more so if the fighter didn't fly like it's tweaked out on something) and that f*cking jet will swat you out ofthe sky miles from Zancudo. I've been all the way out in southern LS past the sky scrapers and just exploded, back when i used to steal jets. Now i just blind eye if i need one.

This has been the case since 1.15 I believe. The way to out smart this devious AI NPC is to fly straight up, spin around in circles, and keep flying in the opposite direction of the enemy fighter jet.

Yeah, wtf is this sh*t? Can't steal a jet since 1.16 because of this goofy pilot that stalks you!

 

Another thing they introduced in 1.16 that's really annoying is that now when I steal a car the cops chase me, and sometimes they'll even shoot at me!! I mean WTF??? What the actual f*ck Rockstar???

I've seen the insta-spawn jet but only when I got careless with my escape.

 

I've tried the "fly straight up" and I think it does work most times but I've had a nearly 100% success rate in the past month by taxing on the runway for a little while toward the swampy area (away from the tanks) and pulling up at the last second to just BARELY clear the fence and then diving right back down to almost ground level......keeping at ground level until I get to the mountains. I haven't had a jet follow me since I started doing that and the SAM missles won't fire at you when you're taxing on the run way.

Yeah. One time I tried to steal one, and took me out of the sky. Worst part was that it started to grief me. I had to leave the session.

Fly up to do full loop, fly straight, destroy randoms, get and/or hear hate comments, see kick warning message, pay up cash on Personal Vehicles you destroyed, get kicked from session, go to new lobby, return to military base, steal jet, repeat...

The best time to steal a jet is when someone is causing absolute carnage in the city, the game engine can only cope with so much in terms of vehicles/explosions/wanted status/weather effects/full server etc.
