So ironically, Rockstar letting people from gangs, etc, in their studio and asking them to ablib to the scripts to try and get more authentic and real dialogue, ....has actually backfired.

It seems like it.

Cheers.

Love WD, but dying peds in that game sound like they're trying to have an orgasm with decency while evacuating their bowels at the same time.

I think they did the same for Max Payne 3 and it worked out pretty well.

I think the voice acting is great.

Some of my favorites:

(beware headphone users)

Only problem is that the same lines are repeated too often, which is unfortunate considering there is A LOT of recorded dialogue that is rarely heard.

they suck. i always hear the same thing from them.

pissed off mexican construction worker - you f*ckin cock sucker!

pissed off gay dude - you f*ckerrrrr

this is a big part where the game lacks. combined with the robot like animations and we have a hardly improved pedestrian system from gta 4.

watch dogs has much better, more in depth pedestrians.

Were you looking for sh*t? Because you just stepped in it.

Jokes aside, at least some of the NPC's have some hilarious quotes.

Pretty much every GTA game since III is known for cheesier voice acting with characters such as peds or enemies. The voice lines eventually get a charm to them as time goes on though.

GTA 3: Give me a doughnut i'm hungry, I'm so happy I could sh*t aannnd in the navy GTA V just makes you double take on "wtf did he just say?" "f*ck your mama in the kiester, you f*ckerrr guy and then the "wooowww" dude. they could've done better, but it is GTA

I wonder if people are forgetting that this game is a satire of the U.S? Maybe they purposely made the A.I conversations to sound farfetched? (doubt that due to console limitations) As for the enemies, I think it's quite funny, especially the rednecks and the professionals. And also, almost everyone always curses at you.

universetwisters

The one thing I don't get about the rednecks is how they all have that southeastern accent that I'm almost certain doesn't apply to the west coast. Now I could be wrong, but I'm just saying

I have seen a man slap a woman but where do you go in the game to hear good voice acting? I've listened to almost every phone conversation but I wanna see something like this for myself.

Rockstar Games has hired real gangsters as voice actors for Grand Theft Auto V.

In fact, Lazlow Jones has explained that they get these guys in to record the gang characters because they didn't want a goofy Hollywood actor who went to a fancy school trying to be a hard gang member. I personally find it pretty "authentic".

Gangsters in V sound stupid anyway. Real or not.

Have you heard Marabuntas? The way they speak is legit Salvadorean argot, with Vagos they used Guatemalan and chicanos, every ped has its own voice and lines according to its ethnic group, man. The detail R* placed on the lines is f*cking amazing. Not to mention the accent of each group is according to the culture they proceed from.

You got more of this? I would love to listen to each and every line the peds use.

Where are the Marabuntas?

You can find them in the sewer near Mirror Park, in their neighborhood nearby Lester's house and in the online mission of "Pot Shot"

Don't care for online.

Is that the spot where they are racing cars in the sewer?

Yes they appear there at night time.

the marabunta have a chance of spawning at the weed farm in grape seed and you can steal their weed.
