GTA V Is On PC
This is one of the things that Watch Dogs has going for it; the world feeling alive. Now I've had it since day one, and I've only seen police chases twice. The first time, the cop rear-ended the criminal, he spun out and the car burst into flames against a wall. The second time, while I drove down the street the cops were already in the process of arresting somebody. I don't doubt that both of these were scripted, but I prefer well-scripted and thought out police chases than a cop ramming my car out of nowhere, then deciding I'm a bigger threat than four armed criminals because they hit me. Day one of Watch Dogs on PC for me ended up with me falling through the world several times, getting rid of cops on a boat because they made one of the dumbest mistakes in any open world video game, and having my game freeze on the loading screen several times. The police may be better scripted, but the game is a letdown for me. OT: Agree with OP, the cops chasing the suspect and then shooting them and driving away happens every 20 minutes in my game. Nine year old hardware can't really do much about that, though.
Cutter De Blanc
Odd, usually if they smash me while in pursuit of another suspect (or I smash them) and I get a star they continue pursuing the other car while backup spawns a block away to chase me. Once they've dealt with the other suspect they go after me. Well... they'll attempt to deal with me too, but their focus always seems to be the original suspect. Official General
I really liked them at first, because they added some kind of action and vibrancy to the largely boring streets of Los Santos. However they later felt very scripted, and they got quite repetitive, because the exact same thing happens with the exact same ending or result. It would have been much better if the robbers sometimes killed the cops, and also if the robbers had sometimes had stronger weapons than just pistols. Like SOL said earlier, it would have been also really good to see cops arresting criminals and gang members too. What I really wanted to see though, was random shootouts between rival gangs in the streets unconnected to player activity, more than anything else. Choco Taco
The only thing that frustrates me about these things is if I'm driving with no intentions to get into a police chase myself and then a squad car rear ends me or whatever and I end up getting shot at by cops just because they ran into me. S1N0D3UTSCHT3K
OP was confusing, thought this was about the scripted mission chases, not the unscripted random chases I've probably seen 100s of those now and you what, sometimes I still see some pretty funny ones few days ago I had some hillbillies rear end me hard in a Sandking and really screwed up by unarmoured Bravado Bison, and then they started shooting ME instead of the cops lol the best moments are when the random chases trigger random shootouts... like if some Ballas are being chased by cops and they go through Vagos territory and the Ballas crash into a Vagos cop car you get this HUGE Ballas vs Vagos vs Cop Car/Heli shootout haha like 15-20 people
PhillBellic
At first I liked them, but after a while seeing the same outcome was just bad. Everytime the suspects were shot dead. Why! It would make for a more interesting game if the cops actually arrested the suspect and actually drove to the nearest police station for processing. Cheers.
