Off road tyres are best because they go over the curbs faster? Just stay off the curbs then ;)

on quite a few tracks the ideal line goes over curbs though

pretty much anytime you have a corner in the city the inner curb allows you to cut the corner taking it faster than people who have to go around.

same with exiting a turn, if there's curbs on both sides you just have more room to play with without the risk of spinning out.

 

not sure if it's enough to make a huge difference but in a perfect race the person who has more room to go in and out of turns will be faster.

It doesn't even matter. Putting off-road wheels on a sports car is a crime.

 

We'll just ignore the fact that basically every sports car handles better off-road than actual off-road vehicles.

It has really helped with my Coil Voltic, the car's so light that with sports wheels it used to flip over when hitting pot holes at top speed!

Better or not I don't care. I will never put off road wheels on any cars. I have never seen a single car that looks good with them on.
