GTA V at Tokyo Game Show Discussion

Yeah guys we have waited so long time for the next gen versions. And this monday is the beginning of September and sony congress in Tokyo. I know that we were disappointed at gamescom due to lack of Gta V.But this time is different because we are getting close to Fall. What do you think this next week for news??

Jesus, I'm having 2012 and 2013 flashbacks.

 

The reality is, it's impossible to predict. I didn't see the next gen versions of GTA V coming. I mean, after all, the 360 and PS3 didn't get a straight port of san andreas or Vice City. I had no reason to expect different.

 

So don't get your hopes up so high that they're at the f*cking moon, because if nothing happens you'll end up depressed and cutting yourself again. It's fine to get a little excited, but keep it under control.

R* never attends any gaming events they don't go to e3, gamescom, etc and I dont think they will go to TGS

They are too cool for it anyway, and if they did attend they would have to waste time making a presentation and it would take away development time and delay it even more.

And it's quite possible that SONY also wants to get the world eyes in Japan and make a big advertisement there, why? See for yourself:

But will it happen? I don't see why not and after that tweet that was redirected by Rockstar Games we're getting closer to some news, in fact I can actually see a post next week at least mentioning that the new version will have extra radios with other info following it.

You don't have too, it's just a possibility not a fact.

 

The same way that when you play the lottery you have a chance of being millionaire, but you don't go out and start buying everything expecting to pay them once you get the money.

 

Here is the same case scenario, there is a good chance but doesn't mean it will happen just keep your eyes on info about it and hope for the best.

Good point maybe Sony will probably announce the release date or maybe exclusive SP content or not but who knows?

Since the V hype train I've lowered my expectations

I doubt Rockstar will even pay any attention at all to the Tokyo MOBILE GAME Show

 

TGS has been a joke the last few years. last year it was incredibly empty and most of the show floor was for smartphone apps

 

Sony could and should showcase GTA V but it'll probably be with limited or no support from Rockstar with 0 additional news or content

...why would either Sony or Rockstar waste time with GTAV at the TOKYO GAME SHOW???? The biggest complaint from that market so far is that there's a lack of Japanese Developed games for the console to even generate an interest, GTA sells well in Japan, but it's not exactly enough to set the thing alight over there, the event will be mainly (who would have guessed) Japanese Studios. There has been very little outside influence at that show for years now, I don't see that changing, if anything, there will be a bigger focus shift to Mobile Gaming as console Gaming and PC Gaming in Japan is on life support as Mobile Gaming has took over there.

For the same reason everyone was saying nothing would come in E3, even when the rumors started to go around... and at the end we know what happened.

 

One thing is to speculate about certain events that could bring something,the other is to actually expect something. And this was a possibility but it didn't happen so let's keep our path, I don't believe R* will pass September without a single word, that would be unreasonable, so there has to be something this month.
