Don't sweat it - R* only took hacked money last time - the only people who went flat broke were those who spent more than they had - the wipe took away the hacked money but left in the costs of anything you bought (which is why everyone got to keep everything they bought).

 

So, if you had a million, got given 100 million, and spent 500K, after the wipe you had 500K (assuming you earned nothing in the meantime, for the sake of argument).

 

However, if you had a million, got given 100 million, and spent 10 million, after the wipe you were stone cold broke (but still had 9 million bucks worth of stuff that you technically shouldn't).

 

It's true, I had about $1.5 million, then got gifted, put the gifted into my second character's pocket, wipe happened I was pretty much back to $1.5 million .

OT: I believe if you collect the bounty, it won't actually register as you collecting it. The million dollar bounties have been around but people reported collecting the bounty but not the actually money that said was placed. The limit was 9k.

As much as I dislike the wipes and shiz. When everyone has money...the sessions are normally filled by utter glorious chaos and fun. People actually try to kill each other and all out wars/battles breakout. May not be everyone's cup-o-tea, but I enjoy those moments.....usually.

They won't be back.. And they don't work.. The person who takes the bounty doesn't get the money, or get to keep it, and the person who puts that bounty on someone gets pretty much insta-banned.

I read up on this on a mod forum and apparently they got it to work to GET the bounty set, but just that. And the people who put the bounty on other people pretty much get banned instantly.

So don't worry.. If ya'll did haha

Not really. In the evening i collected a bounty of 39500, but I got NO money.

Another modder Set a bounty of a Million.

Approx. one hour later both were banned at the same time.

So, no score for modders.

I'm talking specifically about those who defend the neufed payouts and mission buffs by saying it ensures "longevity" which is a buls*it argument to begin with. Having unlimited money doesn't stop people from coming back and playing years after, nor any of those other things we were tricked into thinking were "fun", things to spend money on, but really don't matter in the long run. Wasting 30,000 on a stupid musical horn doesn't make the game any more worth my time.

 

They could add 50,000 more suits, wouldn't make a difference.

 

It all comes down to R* trying to sell shark cards.

lol its funny how we hyped that rockstar will patch and fix these issues but the hackers/modders were ready. They were like "as soon as rockstar releases 1.17 we'll show them that rockstar can't do sh*t". idk no way stopping them but if rockstar swipes out everyones money I'm done with this game i hope everyone els is too like a "protest" against rockstar + Serves them right for f*cking us with this prototype game

Give me a break. Rockstar could have never accounted for all of the ways that hackers or people with nothing better to do with their time could find to break this game. You think it's a bigger issue with GTA than it is with other games... It's not. It's just as bad in other games, especially CoD.

All the people who had billions back in the day, answer me this. Would you still be playing today if you were allowed to keep them? You would have grown tired of everything if you were normal and possibly stopped playing.

 

On my side of things though, I've never glitched or managed to get a billion dollar bounty. So that means I haven't unlocked everything in the game, hence I haven't yet grown bored of it. I only recently got a buzzard after a few weeks of saving and its reinvented the game for me and made it fresh. If I got this all those months ago I would have gotten way bored of it by now. This is one example for everything else in this game and how getting things in time expands the lifespan of it.

 

And for the people moaning about not being able to have chaotic free-mode battles, I get on just fine. The most I'd loose per session is around 30 grand on ammo + hospital fees, which can easily be made back up with interest in a couple of jobs (no not just missions). And for the record I use explosives left right and centre so all this crap about not wanting to engage in battle in freemode due to money limitations is utter rubbish.

 

To be honest if you aren't broke and sit on a tidy million and don't plan on spending it, there is no need to be cautious about battling, you won't feel the damage done because it'll be so minuscule you won't notice. Especially now as the cost for blowing up other's PV is gone.

Yeah me too, I don't care about money and will just do whatever I feel like, because I'm confident I'll make it back up at a later stage. But what I've seen is that the general opinion is that people don't want to engage in battle because of money issues, and that's why they support having illegal billions. However at the end of the day you can easily make up the money spent if don't go completely sh*t crazy.

 

Also that question was aimed at people who used the billions to buy everything and then get bored of it all cause they already "been there done that" in the space of a month. While I'm still unlocking stuff at a slower pace and still enjoying the content the game has.

as a former billionaire i can say that i'd still play the game.

 

i earned my first million back in october, by mid november i had 500millions, by december i had 2.4billions.

 

for me the game was fun then, its fun now!

 

the thing is that this game revolves around money, people feel free when they manage to get easy money, you see more people battling in freeroam, explosions, bullets flying, cars exploding, etc...

 

the days after the money wipe were really sad, freeroam was a ghost town as almost everyone was poor and doing missions.

 

i spend 99% of my time in freeroam so i welcome anything that keep people from playing missions!
