RyanBurnsRed
This wouldn't be a big deal for you GTA fanatics if Rockstar owns the rights to the series...which I'm sure they do.
Delta India Echo
Take-two is my favorite publisher though! Noooo!!! Take EA instead Activision, no one likes EA... They haven't been publishers since 2004. It's redundant as f*ck to say they are publishers nowadays. Doesn't matter when they last published a game. They're still a publisher. Also, the first link is a search showing them publishing a game from 2005. So once again, you're wrong. They are not publishers. End of. Just because they once were... f*ck it, I am not arguing with a vegetable. Edited August 31, 2014 by Delta India Echo

ainsz
I don't think the GTA IP is of concern here. Yes if T2 goes to Activision, then GTA and the Rockstar name goes to Activision. But GTA is a proven franchise, especially so after V's release, Activision aren't going to feel inclined to change any kind of dev schedule or budget Rockstar already has in place for the series and possibly any of there of franchises like Red Dead. It's the lesser IP's and Devs that are going to be under pressure to perform or get shutdown.

cryptorelic
Well people.. we are now at GTA V, with loads of good GTA games and history going back to the 90s. Everything has an end... We all hate it, we all know Activision will ruin everything, and we all meet up infront of their headquarters to burn it down. But whatever Lets just enjoy it as long as we can. feckyerlife
NO! T2 owns two of my favorite game series - GTA and Mafia. Screw activision and their Cock of Doodie. I don't want GTA to be the same all over but better graphics and other names. If activision will buy T2, they can dream about my money. I'm not paying a company which makes the worst games in history for xbox retards. They will not destroy GTA. Mafia series is over sadly... if not it will be a long while before we see another game of the series.

Slevin77
Uhh the only thing able to compete with Call of Duty number of copies sold and World of War craft fame is Grand Theft Auto. This is like saying SEGA will be bought out by Nintendo. This is like saying Microsoft will be bought out by Sony. Does this story say 2K is considering it? NO, if it does it's a lie. They probably went up to the receptionist at the HQ and asked her to say yes to everything. Edited September 3, 2014 by Slevin77
Spider-Vice
To be honest, all that we've been seeing on the news is "Take Two on Activision's radar" and things like that. Take Two probably hasn't even heard of anything from Activision, and who knows if they actually will. As I said before, Take Two knows how Activision works, if they didn't accept EA, they most likely won't accept Activision. Take Two is very sure of their business. I hope. hvcciookay
It won't happen. Even if it does, it won't bother R*'s development with their games. Why try to fix something thats not broken? If anything, other IP's like Bioshock and new games would be pushed to be released quicker but even that's a farcry. They have plenty of games to pad the wallet and pass time while R* does it's thing.

The Pizza Delivery Guy
They should just combine Activision and Take Two and call themselves Doublevision. Then all their studios can work on huge games together. DarrinPA
TheTechPoTaToCHIP
Remember when Capcom tried to buy Rockstar just before the release of GTA IV? And now Activision is trying to do the same with the NG and PC release of GTA V. And much like last time, i have a feeling it ain't gonna happen. Besides I read somewhere that if T2 gets bought that Rockstar won't be part of the deal and they would become and Independent game company. R* has a level of liberty most of the other Take Two studios dont when it comes to their own projects, however if bought by Activision R* would be a part of the package just like every Take Two asset. Well, let's just hope that Take Two knows that being bought by Activision would mean a drop in quality in their games and a massive uprising from the fanbase (hell, a portion of the fanbase already hates Rockstar for GTA V for whatever reason) I mean, considering the big bucks Rockstar managed to reel in with GTA V and how giving all that to activision (The same people who annualized CoD or as I like to all it: "Children's Online Daycare") would be the stupidest Idea since letting LJN make all the movie tie in games in the 80's. GTA V grossed a billion dollars in 3 days, so activision would have to shell out a ridiculous amount of "ka-ching" Just for Take Two to even consider making the deal. (Unless they really want that GTA Movie that badly) Anyway, if this deal does happen, I'm just going to give up on gaming entirely.... TaviColen123
Activision is a terrible company but they aren't as bad as EA at least so that's something, also they have shown that they could let developers be free and do their own thing, example being Blizzard which they aren't any different than how they were before, anyway this is useless to talk about since it's not going to happen anyway just a bunch of small talk from an industry "analyst" which we know how reliable they are especially concerning GTA V's release .
