CallumL
It's funny reading what some kids are saying about this. "GTA will turn more like COD". Will it f*ck. You have to look on the brighter side and stop crying about it. If Activision bought Take Two, they'd have some of the best developers. They could produce some awesome games together. It doesn't mean they'd stop making games they already make. Plus, either companies haven't published anything yet, so it's probably not going to happen. Sussus Amongus
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! If this happens, I will quit gaming forever! Rockstar should join Bethesda Softworks, CD Projekt Red or even Koch Media(aka Deep Silver). Bethesda? The Elder Scrolls:Los Santos ??? Osho
Why exactly are so many people worrying? Activision are not going to develop the games even if they do end up buying T-2. They'll only control the financial segment. Rockstar will still be making the games. The only possible difference could be that the games would be released at a faster rate. They could release games at a faster rate even without Activision. If their role is limited towards looking after the financial segment, then how could you possibly link such an association with the pace of the game development? Clearly, the CEO's aren't stupid to turn a blind eye on matters related to Rockstar after the deal. The entire process of Rockstar's management will be wide open for all who are part of the deal to decide or influence, which was not for them to know before acquiring a share into the profits. Frantz Fuchs
Can someone confirm, does R* have the authority to 'secede' from Take2? If this happens, I think we all would want R* to become their own publisher. Anyway, $2B? Did GTAV make as much money as that? Price seems low

Controlling financial segment means Activision might say: "according to sales, kids like dubstep, bright colours and lazers. Yes, you might end up copying Saints Row, your own clone. No, we don't give a f*ck about traditions. Do it right now." Pretty much as when Brian Fargo sold Fallout franchise to Bethesda, back then we thought it was a good thing. Then Fallout 3 came out. KarimNTerr
Maybe, Take-Two Interactive is just selling Rockstar North's Agent to Activision, it would make more sense in my opinion. I mean, Agent was in development by Rockstar San Diego since 2003, it has been announced in 2009 as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, but we never knew anything about it. Most likely, Rockstar Games has just abandoned Agent, and Activision wants to own this IP. Edited August 31, 2014 by toxluv

tuareg
Yeah seriously why is everyone so panicky? Evn if it does happen it doesn't necessarily mean the end of GTA or any of rockstar's other games. Hell if Activision buys T2 we might actually get heists finally! Spider-Vice
The implications of releasing games at a faster rate if Activision started controlling Rockstar would be quite devastating. Activision has always been known for their game fatigue, and I assure you they would start making Rockstar shell out GTA's faster than we've never seen before, thus making GTA into a sh*tty series because it would be rushed. It wouldn't affect their game type but it would definitely affect their quality. That said, I don't think Take-Two is that dumb when they know that they own some of the best selling and best IP's out there. They know what Activision do with their games. Also I think Rockstar has enough capital to secede from Take-Two, if worse comes to worst.
