This isn't real, right? Its just some sick joke by the media? Activation can't buy Take-Two, they just can't! Well, they could, but they can't! I've been gaming since the turn of the century, heck, I had a plug 'n play Atari as my first 'console' before moving on to the original PlayStation. If Activation buys T2 then they'll ruin GTA; god could you imagine being forced to buy ever sh*tty car or plane or gun for each GTAO DLC for $1.99? God, losing GTA would be bad enough, but Red Dead? Borderlands? XCOM? Bioshock? Mother-fookin CIVILIZATION??? What the hell do I play then? A new Elder Scrolls or Fallout every six years? The hundreds of AAA games on PC that cost practically nothing during Steam sales, but I can't run at more than 5 frames-per-second? If this deal would actually happen, I may be forced to quit gaming forever. And then what do I do? Go outside? Exercise? Make some real friends? WTF! I CAN'T DO THIS! Help me Strauss Zelnick, you're my only hope! Edited August 31, 2014 by gbrown100 Oryk, Curtis, Shimo815 and 1 other
Rockstargames691
I hope to god that this doesn't happen or GTA being the best video game out will become a thing of the past. I honestly believe Activision will ruin Rockstar games and that makes me very very depressed. If this happens I might honestly quit playing video games as a whole. LibertyKing
Meh. If it happens, GTA won't be merged with COD. Just like it wouldn't be merged with The Sims if R* was bought by EA. I don't think they'd have much influence on the making of the games. R* would be a subsidiary of their subsidiary. I don't even think their intro would make it in the games. Take-Two has no intro in GTA. Anyway, I don't see it happening. Take-Two are doing good financially and they don't need to be bought, especially not by one of their competitors. Anyway, I couldn't care less about who buys Rockstar. GTA as already turned into a MMO game. Edited August 31, 2014 by LibertyKing Zello

mareepx
I'm not going to keep the quote train going. COD is the most sold game because 80% of the world are retards and it's often the first online game a kid plays. Whilst it was a good game in the past, they are now total sh*t. There's a reason you can buy cod ghosts for £10 at tesco, andmit's not because it's good. COD is only fun in certain titles (4, WAW, Black ops 2 for me personally) and it's a great game to play with friends. kimle, for the record, my kd is 1.6 and I am a prestige master in BO2. Delta India Echo
Breaking news from E3 2017: Activision has just announced their latest lineup of upcoming video games! Grand Theft Auto IX is slated for release in Q3 and sees the series step outside the United States for the first time, taking place instead in a wartorn Middle Eastern country. Bobby Kotick said the series would be taking a "bold new direction" and showed a teaser trailer unveiling the game's protagonist, Matthew "Wolf" Briggs, an elite member of the USMC. The game will also feature a first-person view mode for the first time and Kotick said the game would mark a renewed focus on multiplayer in the GTA series. Treyarch-Firaxis showed off the latest Civilization game, coming to Xbox One and PS4 in November with a possible PC release rumoured for next year. The studio confirmed that Civilization VII would build on the previous title's move towards tactical gameplay, with an overhauled combat system that inserts the player into the battlefield to fight enemy forces in first-person. Multiplayer at launch will focus on this new tactical mode, although an Activision spokesperson said an "expanded multiplayer experience" may be added later as DLC. Also revealed was Civilization Elite, a monthly subscription service which allows players to get highly detailed statistics about their Civ game history. Subscribers will also get all of the DLC packs for a reduced price and receive instant access to the Civilization IX beta next year. Finally, Activision showed an early teaser trailer for an as-yet-untitled Bioshock game. The game appears to be set in the modern day and the dubstep-ridden trailer hinted that the plot may focus on a war between the United States and Russia. A cryptic message on the Bioshock website instructs fans to keep checking for more information as E3 continues. It's a bit exaggerated though, not all Activision games are first-person shooters, but I get the point. Edit: Also, Activison already had the rights for Civilization and Take-Two bought it later. It wasn't a FPS, lol. Edited August 31, 2014 by LibertyKing

Fox2Quick
Don't forget Activisions is gonna possibly be rolling in serious money from Destiny. That may influence the final decision. Also, their publishing deal went up publicly (at least most of it) and it seemed like they wanted to allow the developers to be creatively flexible. Maybe they'll do the same thing for Take Two. This could be the guidance and upper management they need to get their technical department a bit more organized and increase the work force. Gdog
you'll need to relax. it's not the end of GTA/red dead/borderlands etc if TT get bought by Activision. it's not like they are just gonna buy TT and thats it. there will be terms/conditions in the sale. i'm pretty sure at least rockstar would demand that they are given the same control over their games as they do at the moment. Take two pretty much let rockstar do what the hell they want and that's a good thing cause, well, look at all the amazing games they make. activision would just act as a publisher/distributor or whatever. this might not even happen but if it does...i won't start panicking. IDredMan
In other news: Disney has acquired Marvel Comics! Could this be the end of Marvel Comics and its beloved franchises? Surely Disney will butcher them with writing limitations to serve to Disney's younger fanbase, and milk their products constantly until they're worn own and no longer interesting, while completely ditching the beloved theme of Marvel Comics and catering to the general people, while alienating the core fanbase. After all, this IS what Disney has done for the past 10 years. This could very well be the end of Marvel Comics as we know it! Oh wait.

Vercetti42
Why exactly are so many people worrying? Activision are not going to develop the games even if they do end up buying T-2. They'll only control the financial segment. Rockstar will still be making the games. The only possible difference could be that the games would be released at a faster rate.
