Stepped on a dropped weapon. Died instantly?

Well, you know sometimes when running over a npc dropped weapon, it goes off? I always thought it was harmless until today. Collected a special crate, went to the nearest dead biker to collect dropped cash and....died! Stepped on a shotgun and it went off, killing me instantly.

Anyone experienced this before?

Guns in this game are super sensitive. Or were you wearing high heels and stepped right into the trigger guard? I think it's a cool addition though. They also go off sometimes when NPCs drop them.

No, thats kinda funny though. Did you hear it go off?

Yup! Weapon was a sawed off shotgun. Came as a complete and utter shock when the wasted screen came up.

A buddy caught a live round from a Combat MG lying on the ground, that I stepped on, at the Sandy Shore's gang attack.

Wrecked him? Damn near killed em.

I remember the old GTA IV days when you would die with an RPG in your hand and it would go off. I always hoped that it would hit anyone.

That's awesome! Congratulations.

I've been tryng to take my buddies out with a murder/suicide (using the kill yourself option in the quick menu) tsince launch.. still haven't pulled that off

NPC weapons do actually go off when dropped (sometimes). The way to make it go off is by shooting the dropped gun. It's fun but there is no use what so ever.

Been shot by those f*ckers. Gun gets dropped, goes off, headshot. What the hell. Had it happen twice or three times now, I think?

They have gone of as long as I can remember, usually in gang attacks or survivals when you run over one recently dropped. Never been hit by one, but hear them going off all the time.

OP you know now that you mentioned this I have been experiencing guns on the ground near dead bodies going off. At first I thought it was dudes still alive but its happened around piles of bodies that have been dead for a while. Like if you step on a weapon it might go off...I haven't died from it just have been surprised by it.

Ballistic Jello

I think it's supposed to resemble muscles clenching up from nerves on dead bodies.

Not perfectly implemented but does add a little immersion.

That's not that bad. You die many times, at least these were funny. I think it would be very cool if this sometimes happened to our characters too. Let off a few shots as you're going down or have a shot go off when your gun drops.

happened but never killed. I've almost died after tripping and faceplanting bc of a lost bike during satellite communications.
