Cudwieser
True. I agree with the buzz box sounds on GT, but I tend to be to focused on driving to care. I must just put this on record. I agree the RB championship is the go to for cash in GT6 and makes good returns, the biggest flaw in GT6 is that you can win cars only once. Before (in GT4) the economy was simply race, win and repeat (fundamental of grinding) and sell the car. Since that isn't an option, the time taken to earn anything meaningful (30 min for 3m isn't bad) has gone through the roof. If Poly would simply put up more cars as prizes (preferably all the cars between 4m and 20m) and I'd play the game more often. If they allowed you to win a car more than once (value less than 1m) I'd be more impressed. Back on topic: The downloading is nearly through. I can't wait to see how things go. I have to agree that Shift 2 pails compared to this game. The controls aren't just as twitchy (and can be balanced better IMO) and are more realistic for it. S-M-O-K-E
Built a stand for my T100 wheel yesterday. Was just starting to get good with the controller when i switched. The wheel totally changes the feel of the game (in a great way) but it was an entirely new learning process for me. I havent used a wheel since the original thrustmaster wheel on PC way back when. I just cant get enough of this game!!

The principles don't change much though, just the feel of it does. If the wheel and pedals have a good weight then your flying (anything comparable to the car you drive is perfect) Sh*t, those Formula A cars are just beasts and they are a joy to drive. Better than what Codemasters has given us for the last couple of years. Can't speak for codemasters, but the Formula A is fun. It is one of the few cars in any game that TC,SC and ABS is needless as it'll still kick your ass for being lead footed. You need to be patient and progressive with it. Just ease on the power and brakes in good time, focusing on the road and not the car and you'll have it sorted. 5-10 laps of Laguna Seca will sort you out. That thing has a lot of torque. I driven it on the Nordscleife, and comparing it with GT6's 97T, the 97T from GT6 pales in comparison. That's the closest thing to compare PCARS' 98T on Nordschelife. The only thing I can say is post your times (1 lap challenge with the 98T No Assists (everything is up to you). If you screw up you have no second chance. Just carry on and see what you can do. No restarts). Once you post your first time feel free to try again (same rules. post no more than 3 times keeping your first and replacing your next slowest every time. Please edit your existing post to save on multiple postings). You can practice on any track except ones in Germany. Anyone game? My first time is 7:26.847 (unofficial due to running wide on a turn) Edited May 18, 2015 by Cudwieser

Cudwieser
I'll give anyone trying a tip. The triggers act like throttles on a car. If you pull it in a fraction the car will accelerate up to a point (full throttle accelerates quicker for longer, but grip tends to cry foul). Use this fact to accelerate/hold speed through turns without too much wheel spin. try and resist the temptation to floor it as too much acceleration too soon will see the driven wheels leading the undriven (fine if they are the front wheels but not the case in the Lotus). S-M-O-K-E
Throttle control is a huge aspect ive noticed. Having pedals really helps with that though. I really think SMS did a fantastic job with this game. Ive been sticking with the GT3 class the most & can run some decent (for me anyways) lap times one circuits once im framiliar with the course. There are some things which should be added & bugs that need fixing, but overall im very happy with my purchase.

S-M-O-K-E
Oh!. What have you noticed? Game seems pretty solid to me. Issues of AI not pitting in career races, game crashes sometimes, some corners can be cut without penalty. There are others too, but nothing huge really. Noticed sometimes it wont allow you to join online warmup & qualifying sessions in progress which is annoying. Game is very solid though. The core of it has been polished well. Chloroform
Love Sim racing games, hated this game. I got it in the mail (gamefly gotta love them, they saved me so much money) played this for about 5 minutes (well tried to) I hated it but before I decided to put it back in the sleeve. I went into practice just to mess around, get the feel for things. Nope wasn't happening for me. I messed around in practice for about 10 minutes with the BMW (think it was the m1 can't remember) and decided to switch to the mono and then to the shift cart. I couldn't take it no more and the game went back. One thing I did enjoy was the camera views. The interior view was refreshing and different with how much detail the vehicles had (much like forza) but your head could move more and see more. And the view from the middle of the interior was amazing. Other then that, this is a game people should rent or maybe buy when it's around $20. I didn't enjoy this game, not one bit and I was hoping I would. This is far from a realistic sim in my book.
Cudwieser
Out of curiosity what was it exactly that put you off? I'm sad to hear it isn't your think but nothing is ever everything to everyone. What would you like to have seen?

hvcciookay
I'm guessing X1 only uses 30-40% of DX12? Anyways, I could care less about the graphics. I can't get the right settings for the controller. I thought I had it right when I did a 20 lap stint on Catalunya School and Nuringburg short in the BMW E92 GT3. Was a pain getting knocked around by lapping GT1 cars, but the car felt controllable. I switched to the Ginetta and same tthing, but better except I couldn't see my mirrors. Tried the Mustang and it went downhill and never picked the game up again. I think I messed with the settings at some point again, but when I get time, I'll try the Ginetta or BMW again to dial in the settings again. Ugh... Bear with me and I'll have a try over the weekend to see if I have some success. The only thing I'll say off hand is that the cars are meant to be characteristically different. What works for a BMW may be temperamental to a Mustang. Either way I'll see if I can work on some settings. If anyone else has any settings to try, please let us all known. Cudwieser
just messing around with the above settings. The two mustangs are twitchy. The GT4 is very torquey and very prone to spinning. The BMW and Ginetta seem more neutral albeit lighter and easily upset when being a lead foot but otherwise perform well with deft input. The mustang is just a slingshot with a hair trigger throttle IMO. I was also messing with the Trans Am mustang and the suspension. I seem to have eased it a little but I'm still mucking about with it to get a good feel over bumps and kerbs. I'll let you know if I find anything. hvcciookay
hvcciookay
Haha right. My main test tracks are the Mullenbach Sprint and Willow Springs. Willow provides sweeping corners to test lift oversteer and mid corner braking, while Mullenbach offers dketchy low speed bumps. Only car I had issues with was the Radical. I needed to make a setup to stop the lift oversteer so I'm figuring some of the other prototypes and open wheel cars may suffer the same if not setup properly. I did another race with the Mclaren GT3 and blew the engine with 5 laps to go out of 20 haha. I wish the pit crew would radio in what was damaged instead of just saying mechanical damage. Still had a blast dodging Ginetta juniors and Battling RUFs and Astons.
Parky.
After the latest patch my controller configuration seemed to go haywire, I couldn't drive anything and every cars was veering to the right even without touching the sticks, anyone else had the same issue? Anyway managed to get my settings back to where I almost had it before, just wishing I'd kept a record of what they were set to previously as it feels like I'm learning to play the game again This f*cking thing is so frustrating but so rewarding once you nail a tracks turns and bends, absolutely nailing it round Circuit de Catalunya on Formula Rookie

Once again, wish there was a way for your crew to radio in damage reports without sacrificing screen clutter. I also run zero hud, so right now, the R8 GT3 is my fav for it's information screen on it's wheel. The McLaren was a guessing game on what lap I was on, which Is why I didn't pit haha.
