[Speculation] GTAV PC cancellation & delay of next-gen/PC

I'm still certain that it won't be delayed. However it is odd how an release date is yet to be confirmed

Not a huge priority? They have an expected ammount of money to be gained this fiscal year and they are going to make millions this fall because of the PC version

 

And the PC community is well known to be playing the games for the longest period of time especialy for the community - when was the last time you heard someone say: "Oh I just played GTA IV on my PS3" - maybe 5 years ago.

 

read the financial reports. pc isn't anywhere near consoles. 80% of income is from consoles. pc never gets over 20%. so yeah...not a huge priority. if pc was a top priority then tell me why you aren't playing it yet? ps3/360 versions have been out almost a year. they don't need to rush it out and could easily get away with not releasing it at all. yeah i know pc will make them money...obviously. but they aren't exactly struggling for money are they? they made $1,000,000,000 in THREE DAYS from just ps3/360. If that is a store posting that picture then they have the worst business practices in the world and should even be closed for tricking their customers. V isn't delayed and won't be delayed, and if anything happens it's not a random retailer that will know first if the game copies haven't even shipped. They have the same privileges as us. That said, don't believe stuff like that, it's been said a thousand times the game won't be delayed and there is no reason for that to happen. That store probably read up on the rumors, believed them and "informed" their customers.

Rockstar has reassured us so many times lately that the game won't be delayed. It would be the biggest slap in the face of ALL TIME if they delayed it out of nowhere like this.

Not saying it has been delayed but if it was internally delayed the R* support team would not know/would not be allowed to state anything about it until it was officially confirmed to the public. Answers about a delay from the support team saying the release is still on schedule means nothing. thats what they have to say. Rockstar is king at 11th hour delay announcements.

If the game was delayed internally, Rockstar Support would not have permission to respond to release date queries period. They wouldn't be able to say anything, if only to avoid a scenario of Rockstar Support saying one thing one day, and then saying another thing the next. That'd be a disaster, lol.

 

Lo and behold, Rockstar Support responded to release date queries.

The game was already delayed internally. This is why we didn't get a PC version announcement back at the start of the year. This is why it all took so long. Rockstar wants a steady, simultaneous release with the PC & NG versions. They held off on announcing any dates or release windows until they were sure they could fit the game into one of them. Fall is the window we were waiting for. It's just a matter of time.

 

Also, the cancellation of the PC version is factually impossible, as there are 2 QA testers playing the PC version on Steam every work day (they also update the build a lot).

PC version is not being cancelled. If it was at a very early stage in development, it would be possible. But impossible at this point in time.
