woggleman
I know they aren't that popular and buying masks should not count as a full mission but I enjoyed casing the Jewelry store before we robbed it. I liked Michael taking pics with his glasses while they were completely oblivious and him flirting with the cashier while she didn't have a clue. It made me feel involved and immersed in the planning and then you did the heist it all came together. OneManCrimeWave and Fuzzknuckles

Fuzzknuckles
A few people have complained about the mask mission in particular. I loved these missions - even the one at the docks. They're more appropriate than missions from older games, you actually feel like you're putting in work before the heist. I wish we'd had more of them, to be honest. hyperar 1 Signatures are dumb anyway.
HOW'S ANNIE?
I do like the proper missions (e.g. Casing the Jewellery Store) as opposed to "steal the trash truck" or "place the getaway car". They made me feel like I was doing something for a change. That's one of the very few things San Andreas did right with the story too, you actually had decent prep for the Casino Heist like getting floor plans, disabling the powerplant, etc. You could say it was somewhat like that in VC too, but it was more about the crew than getting info/necessities. Guest Billy Russo
I liked the Gauntlet ones. I actually appreciated all of the prep missions, even if I didn't enjoy them. Actually seeing the Heist be set-up and playing it out yourself was great, rather than just cutting to the Heist and then that's it. Some people might see it as filler, but I think otherwise. Kampret
I liked all of them except the: -Place getaway car (not choose getaway, I liked it) -Masks -Boiler suits. The one I liked the most is when you get the armor for the Paleto job .
Osho
Not bad for the first time ..but, after spending lot of time, and having the more immersion feeling of that, the prep tasks to these heists are now excruciatingly boring -- soo simple, you just visit the stores, buy stuff, and steal vehicles with almost no challenge, and just do them over and over again, on each playthrough. I never really found myself feeling so bored with the prev. games.

That all made sense, though. Lester can pull information out of nowhere, blueprints are all stored on servers, systems can be plundered. It's going to be a while before people can hack cars and drive them to the appropriate pick up point with their laptop. Signatures are dumb anyway. TheGodDamnMaster
They shouldn't have been individual missions. It would have been better if they had been all rolled into one pre-heist mission in which each of the three characters has a task. Instead we get garbage like buying masks and boiler suits taking up the mission count. Agree with this 110% last night I replayed The Paleto Score and set sticky bombs on the road wearing all black at night throwing gas canisters making it a kind of stealth/surprise attack on the military, worked a treat. fefenc
WHAT?! No no no, impossible, GTA V can't have simple and stupid missions like these counting as main mission, they took 5 years to develop the game. I don't believe R* has decreased to this level. GTA IV PC has been ported with their penises, now GTA V plot has been written with their asses. Even TBoGT's lanhouse mission has more planning than buy a fkn stupid mask. Algonquin Assassin
I disliked all of them. The actual casing/surveying of the locations wasn't too bad (except Scouting The Port), but I found collecting all the sh*t for the heists to be tedious and boring. killahmatic
I wouldn't mind them if we didn't only have 69 missions. (I dont actually remember how many missions V had, but it was something like 69) A good chunk of the overall missions are mini-mission set-ups, so I can understand why people don't like them. Some of them were good, but some were terrible. Algonquin Assassin and matajuegos01

Tycek
I can't say I hate them, but with so small mission counter (which includes also assassinations), they really shouldn't be counted as real full-fledged jobs. Casing The Jewelry Store or Scouting the port (which was quite boring to be honest) weren't as bad as they gave us the feel of professional robber. Slowly approaching our target, looking at the security system, talking to store clerk - that was actually quite real and quite nicely done. We got our slower moments of the game, when we can listen to conversations, learn a bit more about our characters, what fuels them, etc. The fetch some sh*t missions were terrible though and the worst of them were the part of the set-up for Blitz play. Do I really need that one particular Tow Truck or Trashmaster? What makes them different from the regular one and thus special? Do I really need a mission to buy suits and masks? This particular moment was the bottom of the GTA V. Terrible, unnecessary point of the story leading into more unnecessary moments. Just imagine if in GTA III before Blow Fish we got mission, in which we have to grab that particular garbage truck to make 8-ball fitted with a bomb. Quite stupid right? But in V we got that sh*t. We got 65 missions in the story and around 20 of the spots is taken by the fetch more sh*t or pick a getaway car (which won't be used in proper way anyway) spot. What kind of crap is this? The only way to handle things like that would be to make list of things blocking the heist (and probably cut them from the story and turn them into side missions like assassinations in VC unlocking in certain moment of the game). Such list would tell us what things we got and what else do we need. Give us some freedom to find the truck, to decide when to buy masks (what if we decide to buy mask earlier for every character just because of it?) and then do the job properly. I am not handicapped, I don't need the eye seeing dog or some higher power holding my hand and telling me it's the right moment to buy the masks for the upcoming heist. Why can't I decide what to do? Is that the best R* could came up with? To make a game about heists and professional robber, which is in fact just script fest leaving nothing in the hands of the player? That's simply pathetic. PhillBellic
Purchasing Boiler Suits or masks were the worst in my opinion. Additionally I wish that there were more immersive set up missions. The Jewellery Store Heist was my favourite. Cheers.

Examples taken from my social club 100% table. -Bugstars Equipment (includes Bugstars Equipment and BZ Gas Grenades/Carbine Rifles) -Minisub (includes Minisub and Cargobob) -Getaway Vehicle for Blitz Play -Tow Truck -Masks -Boiler Suits -Trashmaster -Military Hardware -Cleaning out the Bureau -Architect's Plans -Driller -Sidetracked - these two spots can be taken by Gauntlets and Stingers respectively That counts 11 and I didn't include Casing the Jewel Store, Scouting the Port, Paleto Score Setup, Surveying the Score and Planning the Big Score, which are much bigger, yet they are nothing more than missions connected to the heists. matajuegos01 and Tyla
Tacymist
The jewel store ones were quite good, as were the other larger prep missions. They added to the immersion I thought. The smaller ones like buying masks and sh*t, eh, they didn't bother me too much but they weren't very interesting. I'd have rather had the small prep work go to an npc while we headed out to do something more involving. StJimmy
StarFyer
Some of them were okay but for the most part they were just a cheap way of upping the mission count. Some of them were simple tasks that took a couple of minutes to complete. Boiler Suits and Masks took all of five seconds to do,if that long. The Algerian
I liked the prep missions. Not only that, the one called "Military hardware" is just my favorite of the whole game. Official General
The only heist I really enjoyed from planning to execution in the game was the very first one, the jewelry store one. It was totally action-packed, adrenaline-pumped fun. I really enjoyed messing with the traffic lights in the last heist too. Everything else was nothing special, and most of the heist preparations were quite weak and bland to be honest. My conclusion is that Rockstar really overhyped the heist stuff and made it sound much better than it really was. matajuegos01
Not sure about you guys but the only "real heist" so to speak was the one with the jewelry store, the other ones were just like: A)we shoot on sight or B) we dress up as workers of the building and then we shoot on sight, the real planning was on the first one. Osho
I didn't mind buying the masks. You had to have a suit for Three Leaf Clover and nobody complained.Because:1. You need to purchase only for yourself, unlike in V, for all the accomplices too. 2. No such requirements to quickly buy the masks in 20 seconds, or boiler suits in 30 seconds. Similarly, "undented", "in the dust", and "Not a Scratch", "Truckin'" are both copy/paste requirements with different names. 3. IV presented the heist prep task in as simple, and straightforward approach, by keeping bullsh*t requirements to a minimal, not time consuming and more focus on the actual progress.
