What happened to pranks?

What's with the recent influx of skinny white boys setting up 'prank' channels where they post videos of themselves outright provoking people (mostly blacks) and then getting their ass beat? If you watch the uploader's channel, you'll notice most of their 'pranks' are in the hood gone wrong ones.. it's like a prank isn't successful unless somebody gets hurt.

I saw that episode too. During the world cup (don't remember what match), Vitaly ran onto the pitch. I don't know what happened after that but I don't think the Brazilian authorities liked it very much.

Yea ive seen these youtube guys you are talking about along with Romanatwood & Vitaly and while I like most of their pranks, i feel that some of them are crossing the line. Like going to the ghetto and pretending that you have a loaded gun or running at someone with some weapon. Some of the stuff these guys do is like playing with death & i feel one of these guys are gonna push somebody too far and end up getting killed and then the Media is going to turn this hole ordeal into a whole Black & White thing. I know that the pranksters aren't racist but there are alot of racists who do watch their videos and if you don't believe me, check the comment section.

All these 'pranksters' are narcissistic wankers with no originality, comic timing or subtlety. I don't see how they think provoking someone and then yelling 'Dude, its a prank, its a prank!' when they get aggressive is remotely acceptable. Just because they label something a prank doesn't make it funny.

Roman Atwood and Vitaly are pretty decent.. some of their pranks are a bit too much, yeah.. but they don't solely depend on harassing black people to get their millions of views.

Youtube pranking is serious business, in fact it has become a business for some people, with serious moniez to be made from it. But unlike actual businesses where the dirty capitalist overlords try and earn a living with nefarious underhand tactics, like providing something that's actually useful or working hard, the youtube camwhore pimps out his dignity in the hope of winning the game of "views". If he plays the game well and gets a lot of views, he can trade them in like tickets at the arcade, for prizes such as free t-shirts (so long as he wears them on camera) and maybe if he's lucky real money, which is the ultimate goal of the game.

 

But to win at the game of views he has to outperform his fellow camwhores and do more zany and wild sh*t. Which usually means provoking people into beating them up or just merely threatening them with violence. If you're female you can use handy cheat codes and show your tits and/or ass (but no nipples or butt cracks because that's cheating too much, and YT will ban you for over-exploiting the game).

 

So whilst pranking used to be something to do for giggles and sh*ts, it's now become a trillion dollar business and if you want a slice of that sweet sweet pie, you've got to be willing to put yourself in a situation where you get punched repeatedly in the face by angry ethnic minorities.

I once saw this prank where this scrawny white kid dressed up as a ghost and ran around a ghetto neighbourhood. Some of his friends decided to teach the little bitch a lesson and got these 3 black guys to take his prank the wrong way on purpose and threaten to smash his skull in. Watching the pranker piss his panties was the greatest thing I've seen in a while.

The of the few good pranksters on youtube is Edbassmaster. This guy provides funny pranks without having to be too vulgar and knows what boundaries not to cross. All everything he does is a REAL prank whereas half of the stuff the others do isn't even a TRUE prank.

I agree with BlackAce about this being a time-bomb, just wait until one of these pranksters gets hurt then everybody in the media will be all over this trying to blame anything they can - and racism will be on top of that list.

The reason they provoke and prank black people is because they are most likely to get a reaction and a more humorous reaction. I remember seeing an interview with the guy who did the Miami Zombie prank and he said when they first did it they went to a shopping mall in a White area and the only reaction they got was puzzled looks on people faces or no reaction at all

But when they went to the black area they got all of the hilarious reactions and people freaked out.
