Dry Docking mission - imposssible solo?

I've been going through all the missions and playing the ones that let me run solo, but I got stuck on Dry Docking because I couldn't crack the safe before the constantly spawning bad guys turn up and shoot me, even on easy mode.

What the f*ck Rockstar?

Unlimited spawning bad guys piss me off.

I just kept killing them until I was given a window of opportunity within which I had enough time to crack the safe.

Shoot the guy spawning by the stairs in the foot then quickly crack the safe before he dies and respawns again.

I ended up killing 45 bad guys on one failed run.

Guess I'll add it to the list of missions to avoid, along with Stocks and Scares, that one pisses me off too.

You can do it solo providing you have a Cargobob from Pegasus. Pick up the boat with it and you can avoid getting ripped to pieces.

No Cargobob, Rockstar took it away before I realised I wanted to buy it. They keep removing the fun things :(

On one run ages ago with randoms, one player got in the boat and went to the destination before breaking into the safe, so after the safe cracking all they had to do was go to the destination and get into the boat to finish the mission.

And now my Xbox has frozen again, this patch is freeze-happy :(

There's a relatively easy glitch to let you buy it for online characters on SeawallTX's thread.

I'm anti-God mode 110% but I'd use it in this mission. Infinite spawns & sheer accuracy. F*cking Rockstar.

This might as well be an Unlimited RP method or something.

God it pisses me off about Unlimited Merryweather operatives, I refuse to play with other people due to them most likely dying and reducing the payout.

^^^This, as long as he's alive you have time. Tear gas on the other side, and Cargobob is also helpful.

I tried to play that mission alone,it´s probably one of the hardest missions in game.I spent maybe almost an hour on that mission, shooting all the mercenaries, blocking the doors with their Mesas, shooting more mercenaries that spawned inside and then trying to open the safe as fast as possible and getting killed.I just gave up on that mission, maybe I´ll try it again later with some friends.

I would avoid soloing any mission with safe cracking or hacking if your going solo. Now if they would just let you detonate a damn sticky while youre engaged in said activity it wouldnt be a problem but noooo....

Found tbis out the hard way on that exact mission. Set some stickys right outside the doors, starting cracking and low and behold you are not allowed to detonate a sticky while engaged in something so im pressing detonate and nothing happens. You have to stop cracking to detonate.

Fvcking retarded.

You can do Stocks and Scares solo. I do it solo a lot. You just have to position your car to block the entrance into the warehouse, go in, kill a few, not all, don't spend an eternity on the bottom floor as you'll just waste ammo and die. Go up the stairs, hack the panel, kill the four people in the offiices.

Once you're here, due to you blocking the door it will take a very long time for soldiers to swarm upstairs, crack the safe and from then on you're good to go. You'll teleport into your car without the animation due to it being so close to the door so you can just drive away.

Dry Docking I can't do solo though, tried it a few times and I die whilst cracking the safe.

Grab a Mesa and drive it up the stairs, blocking the respawning guy's path?

Why did I never think of that? Great idea dude, I never really find a use for Tear Gas. Will give this a try later on.

I can't remember ever finishing Dry Docking solo, that last time I played it, this guy couldn't crack the safe, so he left it, I went over to crack it, and he just wandered off and I died. I was so pissed after watching his back.

Is it infinite? I've noted they tend to send about 38-45 guys in different missions (e.g. Potshot, Stocks and Scares, Wet Work), which feels endless, and enough to make you feel very uncertain when they stop. But they do stop.

The Amazing Warrener

Throw tear gas at both entrances :) . 3-4 each should be fine.

Thanks for the tear gas strategy ideas guys, I've never used tear gas in missions before, only significant thing I can remember doing with them was throwing them in the back of my Sandking and driving around leaving a smoke trail :D

Did it solo earlier managed to get my vehicle on the stairs to block them, it stopped the guys coming on that side they still were coming from the other side but not as quick so got chance to crack the safe. Never thought of using the tear gas infact i don't think i've ever used it.

Got thru dry docking once solo, got lucky with a longer time between spawns. Shooting the guy in the foot and tear gas are good ideas to try though.

Can't you just enter the safe-cracking mode, quickly exit out, shoot the guys, and then crack the safe when they are all dead? Given they don't keep respawning now, of course.

Yes, I have used that technique on 'Chemical Extraction' also.

It isn't easy, it takes time - but is possible solo I have done it myself without a cargo-bob (I did grab and move the boat first though).

We now have up to 10 body armour vests stored in our inventory as well as 30 P+Qs, etc. so it is possible to survive longer than before.

However, if you go to a store now during a mission there is nobody in there - so you can't replenish your snacks if you run out...

Great tip about the tear gas though, I haven't tried this but was going to suggest it as I have read about this recently.

I don't know how effective blocking the doorways is with vehicles, I tried this but it didn't seem to stop the enemies spawning downstairs!?

Well Dry Docking solo isn't as enjoyable as Dry Docking with others :)

If you have a small vehicle, i.e Panto, then you can climb up the stairs with it and block the doors. Also make use of the tear gas for this mission.

Lol, I think I rather stick to solo on this one. :p

Block the stairs with your PV (Panto or Motorcycles work best) park it before reaching the 2nd floor, MW mercs will then use the other set of stairs, strategically placed teargas cans along the open stairs can kill them before raeching you.
