Our new thala says 8-1.

RCB shouldn't have lost going into the match with the better bowling line-up, but at least DK and Rawat's resurgence is something to be happy about. Dominant win against PBKS too, I should add.

----

A rare moment today where I could cheer on as Travis Head demolished a side called the "Indians". SRH madlads scored 277/3, breaking RCB's 11-year record for the highest score. MI came pretty close, falling behind by just 31. LSG still last place lol.

Russell was on 🔥 the other night, I hope he retains his form for the T20 WC. Need the hosts to be competitive.

Good news from DC: Pant has started keeping again!

Also I know I'm late, but, LMFAO Bazball. I am really happy for Ash anna and Anderson, and of course, for our new best batsman Kuldeep Yadav.

Mixed start to the RCB campaign thus far. Couldn't do it against CSK who are looking invincible at Chepauk once more. But a good win against Punjab especially considering Faf, Maxi and Green all flopped. Barring Patidar, our Indian contingent seems to be in good nick but still early days.

Maxi in particular has not had a good start to this IPL but I'm confident he will come good soon. Want him to hit his first IPL century this season.

How did we lose to a team with Deshpande 😭

In all seriousness CSK don't look like a strong t20 side but every year they do greater than the sum of their parts. It's a recurring theme now.

Rutu ka Raj is off to a good start. Once they travel or once they take their first loss, will be interesting to see how CSK respond. I think Rutu is here to stay, though I feel his job will be easier when Dhoni is not around. Still, let's enjoy the MSD when he's still around

I really respect MI for not just going for the chase but nearly pulling it off. That slowdown in the 15th over or so cost them, else if they kept up their rate you never know. I can't help think of what could have been if Rohit and Kishan stuck around for 3-4 more overs too

SRH though, mighty performance with the bat. Teams will be wary to defend totals against them now even if this wont be repeated.

Yesterday's loss must have been dispiriting. First home defeat this season. By the time RCB bowlers took the pace off, it was too late.

And Dayal too. Wasn't that great with the ball yesterday, and did some sloppy fielding as well. OTOH Vyshak and Dagar are showing great signs.

He got a bit lucky, but there's no way he his net-bowling session against short balls sponsored by RCB should've lasted that long.

CSK bowled 2 overs of spin in Chepauk against GT iirc. Looks like Rutu isn't as conservative as Fleming-MSD, so let's see how he reacts to a first defeat. I hope there isn't too much chopping and changing.

Also I'm really going to miss MSD's post-toss and post-match interviews.

Pat's salary is entirely justified for that over, lol. (but Starc....)

I don't really think MI could've pulled it off even if Rohit and Kishan stayed a bit longer, but if they had SKY then there was a good chance.

I wonder why SRH brought in Umran instead of Nattu.

And some good striking ability; some of those sixes against spin travelled miles.

RR will feel heartened they've won two in two despite Jos and Jaiswal not firing yet

DC though look the weakest thus far

Narine always performs against RCB. I remember him hitting a 15-ball 50  against RCB a few years ago.

Yeah, it's been quite problematic for RCB. Tbf he's not getting a lot of help from the top-order. But at least he scored a century :).

Terrible loss yesterday, man. How are you holding up? Faf and Patidar finally showed up, so I guess that's a good sign, especially for Kohli. Maxi though.... tied with DK and Rohit for the most ducks in IPL. Less said about the bowling, the better.

DK did a bit of trolling, lmao.

The Cam Green trade hasn't done any favours for RCB so far. I guess we won't be seeing any more of him, RCB will most likely play Jacks and Ferguson now. What do you think will be RCB's plan for the rest of the season?

SKY is back in form :D

I remember that game. Pathirana clean bowls Marsh and Stubbs with some searing yorkers then Pant takes the fight to him. Rachin stuttered in that game, I feel the impetus he does or doesn't provide is key for CSK

Yeah that 2017 game with Lynn. Nam flashbacks...

Patidar has that gift of timing. such crisp hits...

Our bowling is terrible, Ishan Kishan and SKY didn't even break a sweat dispatching our bowlers it looks like. Siraj shouldn't be selected for the WC and for IPL he should be dropped for Dayal

10 hours ago, XNOR said:

6 innings and only 32 runs. Of which 28 came in one game... Which featured him getting dropped twice. Siraj has more sixes than Glenn after nearly half the tournament. And Maxi has more wickets than Siraj. Ffs

I feel bad for Green but he doesn't seem to be a good fit for RCB. Hope Jacks gets a sustained run. We could still see Green in place of Maxwell of his poor form carries on.

Ferguson is  a weapon. Topley has been okay but atm okay isn't enough. Then again Ferguson travels to the boundary as quick as he bowls sometimes so... Decisions for Andy and co!

And Mumbai suddenly look a lot more dangerous. I still feel they will make the playoffs. The 277 loss could have been a tournament destabilizer but with SKY back, Gopal looking decent ar first glance boosting their spin stocks, the bat deep with Shepherd and Nabi and now purple cap Bumrah, the dominantion may resume

Got our first away win in style.😎

Thakur and Deshpande really changed the game for the better in the middle overs. With the way Rohit was going, I thought MI would wipe the floor with us. While I appreciate Pandya experimenting in franchise leagues, wtf was that last over lol. But at least we got to see vintage Dhoni 😍

Pathirana is turning to be our new MVP. Already won to POTM against MI, while OG Malinga didn't win any.

Tbh I was more disappointed with Rahane than Rachin in that match vs. DC. Idk why anything over medium pace unsettles him. Anyway, we got our new non-discriminatory basher in Dube. Growing calls for him to be included the WC squad.

That being said, our NZ contingent has been quite disappointing so far. I hope Rachin and Mitchell find their mojo.

Idk man, not too confident with Mukesh and Avesh tbh. Is it too early for Mayank Yadav? How does Bumrah-Arshdeep-Mayank Yadav look?

For RCB, are you going with two overseas pacers?

Man they really noped out after getting that five-consecutive wins against CSK record lol. No play-off appearance for the last 10 years for them.

What do you expect their retentions to be? Given their history, I suppose a new captain is in order?

Sad to see Jimmy Anderson retire, but it's inevitable that he won't last long. 🫡

I just wish he got past Warne's wicket tally though.

RCB were like the anti CSK this year in that while Chennai mostly seemed to alternate between winning and losing a match everytime, RCB lost several in a row then won several.

I hope he does well in the SL series. He'd slot right in, given the absence of Jadeja. Tbh I'd always wanted him to improve his batting, but him replacing Ash makes more sense. Let's hope the Washington FC has more reason to celebrate this year, lol.

The SL Squad...:adminkek:

Gill is literally falling upwards lmao. IDK if him being VC is a temporary thing, but if it's not then I hope we get good results from the SKY-Gill-GaGa era. Samson getting shafted, as expected. Rutu too. Still not too sold on seeing both Virat and Rohit on the ODI squad, but Rana and Parag seem great additions. KL and Khaleel again ffs.

England hit 416 in a day, and of course, Crawley has gotten out for a duck. A good showing, but I'm certain all of them wished they could've batted for half a day more.

GaGa era :lmaokek:

Tough on Sanju and Rutu. They obviously rate Pant and Gill higher but Rutu arguably has better stats than Gill and Pants t20 stats haven't been too flashy despite getting a decent run.

I can kind of see why, Gill and Pant do have the superstar vibe. There will be pressure on the two now though
