String
Zimbabwe and Bangladesh were once on par with each other but now Bangladesh has gone far ahead, I guess BD had an advantage in having a lot more interest in the game which drove sponsors and better infrastructure there, or that's what I think. Cricket has gotta be more of a global game imo, we need more teams participating at a higher level, it gets boring seeing the same teams play each other all the time. Not blaming Zimbabwe here, I guess the Big 3 (or infamously the Pig 3 lol) dominating so much doesn't leave so much room for others to grow to their level (what I said is a very simplistic version of a more nuanced debate cause I'm not intelligent enough to talk about this). Hopefully in say a decade or two we'll have a lot more teams participating in the World Cup atleast, a 10 team World Cup is barely a WC imo Edited November 9, 2020 by Utopianthumbs Typo

String
My point was that every team has huge victories and talking points over the other , like Rohit Sharma scored by far the individual highest ODI score against Lanka, Sri Lanka can say they scored by far the highest test team score against India so I was poking fun at you as to not get too conceited But if you specifically want to see one batsman alone beat a team here's Sanath Jayasuriya scoring 189 while out team scored 54 altogether (that too in a Champions trophy final), you do the math on how much Sanath beat India Source- ESPNCricinfo Edited November 9, 2020 by Utopianthumbs Added part in brackets RithRake24

String
He's had a horror run until now but what an occasion to show up, Pant! Not only has he helped bring his team to a good position from 25/3 but he's striking at around 150 too. Great stuff And as I was typing this he got out....still it's good to see him back to his old self RithRake24
NileshKumar
MI will win this, now they'll have 5 titles which makes it tougjer for CSK to catch up. String
Tbh I changed my mind before the match and now I want Mumbai to win because if Delhi wins then another team wins before RCB and that would be even more embarrassing as a fan Also I really like the way MI has played this season, they play like a well oiled machine whether it be batting or bowling and that's very impressive. I like their bold attitude this season, even now Surya just came and bashed a four and six of his first two balls and the best part was that he looks like he doesn't give a f*ck about the occasion. Amazing team, I hope RCB get to that level one day Edit: Congratulations to MI on breaking the even year jinx and defending their crown! RithRake24
Yet another title for the Mumbai Indians. Damn. Honestly they're easily the most consistently best team, I have to give them that. Doesn't mean I can't be disappointed 😢 Anyway it's the international matches that really matters! I've googled Sundar Pichai's cricket interests before and iirc he acknowledges that he's a cricket fan but didn't specify the IPL team that was his favourite. I was assuming Chennai because he's a Tamilian (and he quoted Dhoni once in a reply to Tendulkar's tweet) but maybe I'm horribly wrong lol. (Or it's entirely possible it's a new feature he decided to implement for any team winning any league because Google knows everything) Edited November 12, 2020 by RithRake24 String
String
InsideSport seems to have gotten information about the 2021 schedule for the Indian team from sources in the BCCI. Keep in mind this is just a tentative schedule and nothing is confirmed but I thought it would be interesting to share and see what the Indian team has in store for the next year ( also credits to Reddit I found this ithere at first ) Some thoughts - We're playing a ton of T20s this time it seems. 5 against Sri Lanka before the Asia Cup and then 5 against South Africa before the T20 WC, wow. And that's not counting the IPL and the other bilateral T20s, if you're an Indian fan and T20 is your thing then next year is gonna be a bumper - I doubt the England tour to India schedule is correct tbh it's generally 5 tests 3 ODIs 3 T20s rather than 4-4-4 as shown here but then what do I know lol? - Genius move by India to schedule 5 T20s against Sri Lanka before the Asia Cup held in SL lol. For that matter we play South Africa for 5 T20s here before the WC here. Speaking of the WC relaly hope we can host the WC next year - Non stop cricket for the entire year it seems, cool from a fan POV but you got to think there will be a lot of rotation in the squad throughout to avoid burnout/injury. For this reason I have a feeling the Zimbabwe tour in July will get cut, which would suck cause we always skip them over but if there is a series that will be cut it will be this one - Personally looking forward for some sweet revenge when NZ tour here after our debacle against them on their turf NileshKumar and RithRake24 1

String
In a week the Indian team will finally step into the field after a hiatus stretching back to March. 8 months without India playing a single game, damn, perhaps the longest break there ever will be in my lifetime (hopefully at least!). As good as the IPL was, watching your national team play is something else altogether. And tours to Australia are always a cracker. I'm especially waiting for the test series but just want to see the Men In Blue play once more so the 27th cant come soon enough! This would be my team for the first ODI against Aus Mayank Dhawan Kohli (c) Iyer Rahul (wk) Pandya Jadeja Saini Shami Chahal Bumrah I predict this will be the starting XI for us too, it's a toss up between Mayank and Gill for the opening spot but I guess they'll go with the man with better current form. It's tempting to go with the Kuldeep-Chahal aka KulCha combo but with Pandya not able to bowl Jadeja is a must and 3 frontline spinners is excessive imo. So yeah thoughts? I wanna discuss some cricket dammit! Any thoughts from Australian fans about their team heading into this encounter (and their own return to cricket)? Nov 27 is a cricket heavy date in general as not only the Aus-India ODI but there's also a couple of T20Is between New Zealand-West Indies and South Africa-England too so that's exciting may even catch the SA-Eng game if I'm not too sleepy. Any fans of these teams that wanna share some thoughts about their fixtures? It'll be cool to discuss RithRake24
RithRake24
Rahul wouldn't be very effective batting that low I think, otherwise strong XI. I have exams these days so that's why I'm less active around here btw String

The reason I put Rahul at 5 is because in our last ODI series against NZ he batted all the games at 5 as our wicketkeeper with some success so I predict they'll do the same with him this time. Plus with no Pant and a half fit Pandya I think they'll want more firepower in the back end and KL showed he can provide that in our last ODI series 14 minutes ago, RithRake24 said: I have exams these days so that's why I'm less active around here btw I noticed . Mayank and KL would be an amazing opening combination but I don't see them dropping Dhawan for multiple reasons tbh- that he's been a solid performer for so long, that he's in form after a good IPL and he provides a left hand option at the top of the order so makes our batting a bit more multi dimensional 8 minutes ago, NileshKumar said: How about Manish Pandey to finish? (with Pandya) It could work but only if they drop Dhawan and I don't see that happening. Tbh I think Dhawan is underrated when it comes to ODIs, think he's still among our best players in this format and he's got a good record too though I can see why you feel he's boring lol. 8 minutes ago, NileshKumar said: Instead of Saini, how about Thakur? Yeah it's a good shout, Thakur is a handy lower order bat too. I just prefer Saini for the extra pace factor and because Thankur hasn't done so well for India in the past but he too played well this IPL so while I prefer Saini, Thakur can be a good option too. String
31 minutes ago, ritiklahori270 said: they are amazing against you Sri Lanka are an amazing team who've performed way above what they were supposed to considering they have a lesser talent pool to choose from than Maharashtra (a state in India) and may not necessarily have the resources of an Australia to compensate, but they won multiple World Cups (both ODI and T20) and been finalists too so hats off to them However the Indian fan in me feels compelled to tell you that India has a better head to head record against SL in all formats plus one of my favorite pieces of trivia is that Sri Lanka has never beaten India in tests held in India. It's amazing if you think about it, Indian pitches are pretty similar to Lankan pitches and Sri Lanka have had some great test players like Sangakarra, Jayawardene, Vaas and the phenom Muralidharan all playing at the same time and they still never beat us at home in a single test! That's amazing imo 49 minutes ago, ritiklahori270 said: BTW I've seen on cricjaffa schedule for lpl has come Let's hope the Lanka Premier League does well I always wondered why SL took so long to get into the franchise game tbh
